About

perfect for any event... nestled by mission san juan capistrano...

El Adobe de Capistrano offers an amazing wedding and reception Location in San Juan Capistrano, Orange County, southern California.

The restaurant site has been recognized as a California State Historical Landmark uniting the Miguel Yorba Adobe (1797), with the Juzgado (court & jail), established in 1812. The walls forming El Adobe’s Cantina were part of the original Miguel Yorba Adobe. The wine cellar is housed in the original Carcel (jail) cell. The ground beneath the foyer served as a passageway for Seeley & Wright stagecoaches, until the advent to the Santa Fe Railroad in 1888. In 1910, Georgia Mott Vander-Leck bought and unified the properties. Thirty-six years later she sold it to a visionary Rancho Mission Viejo farmer, Mr. Clarence Brown. Brown built the El Adobe restaurant, which opened auspiciously on July 8, 1948 with the wedding and reception of the First Commandant of Camp Pendleton, General Fagan. Yearly, hundreds of couples continue the tradition as they marry in the garden-nestled Wedding Chapel and celebrate in the adjacent Palenque Room.

The Palenque Room (seats 100-250) is the most popular setting for wedding receptions. This open atrium-like room offers a ceiling that slides open to the sky. The room features its own antiqued wood bar. Floor to ceiling windows view the adjoining garden area along the southern wall. Terra cotta tile pavers make any space in the room a potential dance floor. The private Garden Patio (dinner seating 200) and Chapel area offers the perfect setting for a wedding ceremony (ceremony seating up to 300) or an outdoor barbecue.

For smaller gatherings like rehearsal dinners or bridal showers the Portola Room, with its classic adobe architecture, stained glass windows, and vaulted wood ceiling, seats up to 46.  The Las Flores Room offers a window view of the Veranda and Garden, and seats up to 60.  The Cárcel, the original ironed barred jail cell, now houses the wine cellar and offers private dining for up to 8 guests.

El Adobe de Capistrano is located just two blocks south of the Mission San Juan Capistrano and train depot.  San Juan Capistrano is convienently located between Los Angeles and San Diego counties.  31891 Camino Capistrano, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675.  Contact us at phone 949.493.1163 or events@eladobedecapistrano.com.  Visit us at www.eladobedecapistrano.com

The EL Adobe Restaurant is one of the most unique and beautiful facilities in Orange County. Stacey has been the wedding coordinator there for many years and is one of the best in the business. Between the gorgeous patio and the convertible roof, your guests will be talking about this venue for years. FLY BY NIGHT Disc Jockeys highly recommends the El Adobe Restaurant for your wedding!
For any Bride and Groom reading this endorsement: I am Rev. Michael and I Officiate at all locations in Orange County. And one of my top favorite locations to Officiate at is at the El Adobe. Their staff are, without a doubt, the best, the most flexible, the most organized and the nicest to work with. I receive so many rave reviews from my couples regarding the way they handle everything. I would be remiss in not telling you to at least call the El Adobe and investigate their venue.
