Describe your DJ style:
Refined, but fun & upbeat. We are not the center of attention. YOU are. We are your spokesperson at your event.
What is your usual attire?
Black tuxedo jacket & pants. Formalware shirt & matching tie & vest. If you request something different, please let us know.
If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
No. Even if the client already has a copy of the song. All of our music is obtained through legal means prior to your event. We will pay for every song that is in our collection. The only rare exception would be if it was a special version of a song that could not be located through the various legal options currently available.
How many other DJs do you work with?
I am the only entertainer at JBS Entertainment. I will not book your event, and then subcontract out your event to another performer.
What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?
Our minimum booking fee would be based on a four (4) hour performance time.
Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
Absolutely! From an initial face-to-face meeting to see if we are the best match for you and your event, to follow-up planning sessions. We do realize that for out-of-state couples, this isn't always possible, and telephone planning sessions can take place if no other options exist. We are also happy to forward a list of references to verify our abilities.
Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?
We have performed for various cultures and have resources to assist us in planning. This includes Jewish wedding celebrations, Pagan & Wiccan handfastings.
Do you bring your own equipment?
Yes. The only exception to this would be for an out-of-the area booking that requires air travel. In those cases, we would arrage for rental equipment.
What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?
These items are available upon the client's request. We offer such upgrades as room up-lighting, slideshows, club-style lighting and customized monogram projection on the dance floor.
How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?
We normally request at least 1 hour prior to the start of your event to setup our audio equipment. If additional lighting or other upgrades are requested, we request two(2) or more hours to setup our equipment.
A skirted 6' table is also requested.
Do you have any extra space requirements?
We ask to be adjacent to the dance floor and within 25' of at least a single 15-amp circuit for our audio setup. Lighting setups may require additional circuits. Also, an 8-foot width is typically adequate for our setup.
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
As your Master of Ceremonies we will coordinate with the other wedding professionals to keep your event flowing smoothly. Everyone is on the same page so we all know what is happening next. This is done discretely behind the scenes. Special song dedications can also be made.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
No. However, if a meal is offered on behalf of the wedding party's request we would accept it with much appreciation.
Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?
Again, there is no need for this as we do not take breaks during your event.
What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes... We have a network of other DJs that we can call if the situation should occur. In over 11 years, we have never needed to make this call.
What is your overtime rate?
Our current overtime rate is $200/hr, billable in 1/2 hour increments.
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
The answer to this question depends on the extent of travel involved. This can be discussed during our initial consultation.
