Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
What primary photographic style do you identify with?
Contemporary

What do your packages include?
Albums, Custom Graphic Design, Digital Files, Flush Mount, High Resolution Images, Negatives

Do you have liability insurance?
Yes

Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
Included at no extra charge with every package is a variety of color, b&w, sepia and the artsy ones with the b&w image and a color bouquet. I also try to add a different twist to your photos, helping you to have a fun, relaxing and creative event. Plus at the end of the process, you own all your photos so you may do as you wish with them.

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
All.

Is your media preference film or digital?
All digital.

How many photographers do you work with?
I am the main photographer at your event. You may also add a second photographer to any package for an additional cost.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes. I never have anyone "fill-in" for me or replace me. You hire me for my eye so understandably I should be there. If an accident happened or I was in the hospital, then I would obviously have to make arrangements otherwise, that's life.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
No not in one day. As far as per weekend: This is my first year of doing more than one a weekend and it's turning out fine. Very rarely do I allow 3 a weekend.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
3 Digital cameras, 3 different kinds of main lenses (I also have two back up lenses besides that) and 3 external flashes. Mega pixel sizes: 10mp, 10mp, and my back up is 8.1mp. I am working on getting a 12.2mp this Fall (anything larger would be hard for the average person to store/use on an average computer). Also extra flash cards, batteries, etc.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes.

Do you charge hourly or full day?
Full day. No hidden fees.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
I think this question is silly. I'm human. But I don't take many, nor would I want to incase I'd miss something. I do have to take restroom breaks but I obviously work around the events. My main two breaks are as the food is served I charge up batteries, check equipment; then a quick eating break if I get one. If I am at an event for more than 8 hours, I may sit down at the end of the reception for a quick break as my feet are probably sore.

Do you charge for travel?
Yes, per hour, travel starting at anything beyond an hour from 12828.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
You own all your photos at high resolution within 10-14 weeks.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?
DVD storage discs unless CDs are requested. And some small versions put on my website to share.

How long can the client keep the proofs?
I don't do "proofs" - you own them.

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
No. You may make your own prints, copies. But I should always be stated as the original artist if published.

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
You may use a photo in the newspaper, etc. If published in a magazine I must be listed as artist. I reserve the right to use the photos or my website, advertisment or otherwise, unless requested to keep private.

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Digital files.

Will images be available for viewing online?
Only some small versions, again, as a display not in any ordering format because you will own them all soon after and can share them with anyone you want through any photo site.

What kind of albums do you offer?
Custom Coffee Table Albums, Traditional and Parent Albmus and mini-pocket albums depending on what package you want. Proof albums and Slideshows are available at an additional cost. Since you own your own photos you can make your own book on blurb.com or shutterfly.com or walmart.com, the possiblities are endless!

When will the client get the final album?
If you decide on an album package, it will be sent at the same time you receive the photos, 10-14 weeks.
