Additional Questions and Answers

Do you have a studio?

As much as we love studio work, no, not at the moment. Perhaps in the future, but right now we love scouting out new locations that would be fun to wander around and try something new/funky. Shooting in constantly-changing conditions (sunlight, locations, etc.) has the convenient quality of being just one more way we ensure that your photos are unique!

What’s with the name?

’Vignette Photography’ was born out of James’s love of the vignetting effect in photographs (the darkening of the corners in an image). Sometimes it’s subtle, sometimes it’s dramatic. Either way, it’s always artistic.

We hate posing for photos--how long do family formals take?

Depending on how many combinations of family members you would like us to take photos of, plan on anywhere between 10-20 minutes.

We love group photos! Can you take photos of everyone?

If that is what you would like us to take photos of, we would be glad to. It will be important to let us know during your consultation to plan ahead for the best place and time so it’s a smooth process for your guests during your event.
