Keren and Robbie's Wedding

Our story begins ten years ago. I was 12 years old when I first heard the name Robbie Galis. I was the new girl at California Middle school, and all of my classmates said that I looked like his twin! I was kind of offended once I realized that they were comparing me to a boy. He went to school at St. Sebastian at that point, so I never actually got to meet him until a year later at a birthday party. I can still picture his 13 year old face getting all red when I obnoxiously told him it was great to meet my twin...

The following year we began high school together, where we were very good friends. Because of alphabetical order, we often were seated next to each other in classes, and we even had lockers right next to each other our junior year. I once wrote in my diary " Robbie Galis is one of those guys I could snap my fingers for at any time! " He almost asked me to the Christmas dance in 9th grade, we went to a drive-in movie once, he joined the play "bye bye birdie" to spend more time with me, we spent the day together at kennywood one year, and other things like that. We definetly liked each other, but the timing was never right.

Our first year of college we kept in touch alot. He was at St. Vincent and I was at Bethany College, but we managed to keep tabs on each other. In the spring semester we would talk on instant messenger until 3 am sometimes, playing a game of 20 questions that would stretch out over a period of 3 days. He came out to visit one weekend, and once he drove 2 1/2 hours just to give me a ride home. Although we hung out alot, I decided not to make anything official before I left that summer to work at a Christian Camp in Michigan, just to keep my options open while I was away. I did call him twice while I was there, and shortly after I got back that fall, we finally began to date. I remember telling Deirdre that I was hesitant to start dating him because I knew we would never break up. I’d say I decided he was the one I wanted to marry at the same time I decided I wanted to date him!
