I loved this place!!! it was perfect for us! Positive points: -great price : for the ceremony and reception from 12-1am it was 2200. -flexible vendors: You dont have to use any of their vendors, which help with people on a budget. -non-profit: all the money goes to the womens shelter -beautiful venue: it has decorative sealing and light fixtures -set up: they set up all the chairs and tables for you. -kitchens: plently of space and heaters and ice machines. -grand entrance: i loved coming down the staircase. very elegant.
Negative points: -yellow/orange curtain- this wasnt really a big deal for us at all...we had the DJ on stage and lighting everywhere, so you couldnt tell...but when you first do a walk through you may not like it....but it gets pulled to the side and no one noticed at our wedding. -BOOKS REALLY EARLY: this location books a year in advance...so make it early. -ceremony chairs- for larger people they werent that sturdy. no one broke a chair or anything but they were a little wobbly. -grand exit: if you plan on using bubbles or flower petals for your exit outside you cant use them...i wanted sparklers but you cant have anything tha could potentially harm the building...we ended up using fiber optic wands...it was cute. but not what i wanted.
overall, great experience!!!!! great value!!!

I would recommend this place for anyone on a budget and dont mind doing some work for your own wedding. You do have to decorate yourself. They provide tables and chairs. So you will need other either hired or family to help with decor and food etc. Overall this is so inexpensive and a great place for a all in one location for folks that stay out of town. Very pretty inside and the money helps Women and Children that need services from the Y. That is nice. Only thing that was a delima was if you cater yourself, make sure you have racks for a food warmer box that is used there because a day before the wedding I found out that they had none. I had to hunt for some, and they dont sell them in stores. In all it worked out and We had a lot of fun. Book in advance because they were booked already for the whole year. So we had to wed on a Sunday which was not bad and was cheaper.

Amazing! I booked my wedding around a day that they had available (it fills up fast), which ended up giving me only 3 months to plan, but it was perfect! Great price for with everything they provide (tables and chairs). They also have a stage, catering kitchen and full kitchen (downstairs). Very vintage feel, the look I was going for.

Beautiful location for both the ceremony and reception if your having 150 people or less. Very nice and intimate setting for smaller weddings. Looks great at night and photographs well. Love the historic/vintage look and the hard wood floors. The stage is great for dancing so that everyone can see. Only thing we didn't like much was the restrictions, ie. what could be tossed when bride and groom are leaving, having to use glass cases around the candles etc... and they are not flexible or would even consider making exceptions. All in all we enjoyed this location and would recommend it to others.

The YWCA is an amazing venue. We used the ballroom for our reception and it was gorgeous. Dim lights and candles bring the place alive! I heard from my mother that they did not set up the tables when they said that they would, but I didn't know about any of the drama (very slight drama) until after the wedding. The reception was pulled together wonderfully in the end!

YWCA and their beautiful ballroom was the perfect site for my recpetion. The guest services ladies need to brush up on wedding details, policy and custoemr service. I would recommend always coming in, not calling in, and always writing down who you talked to. If possible, speak with Jennifer, she is professional and knows all of the policies you need to know to have great experince.

They were very kind and accommodating. We received many compliments about this location! This is right next to a beautiful Methodist church, or you can have the ceremony and reception at the same location. Beautiful building, great staff.

The YWCA venue was amazing. So beautiful and elegant. It has so much culture to it. It makes a great place for pictures. The wedding coordinator was very helpful and called all the time to check in on me. If you are on a tight budget and want a beautiful wedding this is the place for you.

The building was beautiful. We really enjoyed it. The only thing I would say is be sure to book well in advance. They are often booked several months to a year out.

The facility is fabulous - used to be a Men's Elk Lodge in the 1920's so it still has that old style appeal. Suzy was my contact and she did a good job, was easy to talk to the whole way through. My only draw back is the flexibility of the schedule and what you are allowed to use - you have to book atleast 8 months in advance or sooner to get the date you want, and b/e it is an older facility you aren't allowed to use real flower petals on the floor, things like that.

The location was wonderful, the only negative comment would be that since they are booked constantly, it was problematic to come by to make measurements or show other vendors our space. Overall it was a nice venue though.

I have used the YWCA for several events other than wedding related things. They are very helpful and the room gives you lots of options for decorations, set up etc.
It is perfect for a rehersal dinner or a small reception. They can provide you with contacts with wonderful catering companies they work with. It is a great value, only thing is book as far in advance as you can. It is a very popular location and it books up.
