My husband and I LOVE Yummy Cupcakes! Their icing is not too sweet - it's just right for the sweetness of the cupcakes they make. The variety of flavors is unbelievable. The vegan cupcakes, wow! Delicious! We had Vegan Peanut Butter cupcakes for our vegan guests, and they loooved them! They were so happy that we served them great food and great dessert! It's all worth the drive and the cost going there for the last three weeks trying out all the flavors they have. We went with Caramel Apple (Fall flavor), Chocolate Salty Caramel (because everyone loves chocolate), and Banana Cream Pie (because we love bananas!). The staff are very friendly and very helpful as well! So great job, Yummy Cupcakes!

First off, I love Yummy Cupcakes and whenever I (or anyone of my friends....or coworkers.....or neighbors) makes the drive from Long Beach to the Valley, at least 6 cupcakes are picked up. Sampling a big box of crazy flavored Yummy Cupcakes with a group of friends is one of my greatest pleasures in life. I HAD to have them for my wedding!!
Nick at Yummy via email helped me narrow down my choices as our theme was Travel and we wanted the flavors to reflect the different regions we had selected. The selection at Yummy is Amazing! So many of our friends helped us sample off the monthly calendar. I do recommend looking at the calendar, pick a few days in a row where you like the flavors and call Yummy. They saved 3 days worth of the "daily flavors" for me to pick up. 3 day old cupcakes are still delish plus one bite is all you need to know if it's a hit or miss.
The cupcake we got the most exciting comments over was the Honey BBQ Sauce. Yes, we thought it was odd but it truly is one of those things that must be tried. Everyone loved it and a few of my aunts are trying to figure out how to make it at home.
Yummy delivered the cupcakes to MOLAA and set them up. I marked down a bit for the delivery fee which I thought was a bit high. I had a picture of how I would like the cupcakes to be set up and it was not anywhere near how I requested. I am not sure though if I should have had more than 1 picture/deion or if it was lack of communication with my wedding planner........ No biggie though as the taste, look of the cupcakes more than made up for how they were presented.
Also, a few times I emailed it took over a week to get a response. Not too big of a deal but marked down a little for that.
Overall, if you have not tried Yummy, GO NOW!! I have tried about 5 other So Cal cupcakes places and their selection, freshness, flavors are nowhere near the quality of Yummy. We ordered 40 extra cupcakes and not one was left over!! How many wedding have you been to where "cost per slice" wedding cake slices are left lying around?! Man, just typing this makes me want to make the drive to Burbank ....

If there was one thing that stood out about our wedding, it was our choice of cupcakes as the dessert for everyone. We ordered a small cake for ourselves to do the cake cutting, but the biggest hit were the red velvet cupcakes. All of our guests tell us how much they enjoyed those cupcakes every time we see them. "Those cupcakes were just fantastic!" It was so great. Ordering from them, as well as arranging to have them delivered was a breeze. We could not have been happier with the end result. :)

Instead of traditional wedding cake, Yummy Cupcakes provided a tier of cupcakes for our wedding guests. The cupcakes not only looked fantastic but tasted delicious too. The red velvet ones were the best! Wonderful place to go and you can sample different flavours to your heart's content. (Although this doesn't help you fit into your dress later!)

We did mini cupcakes from the Yummy Cupcakes in Burbank for our wedding (at Palos Verdes Estates) and used a small cake (from another venue) for the actual cake cutting.
We had 300 mini cupcakes (~40 extra) that ended up being about the same cost if we did ~1 regular sized cupcake per person. I was worried they'd be dry by the time people ate them, but they were still very moist and oh-so-good!!!! EVERYBODY loved them and we had only about 15 leftover, which I wasn't complaining about! And people loved taking pictures around the cupcake tier. We had 5 different flavors which was a bit much since it means people want to try every single flavor, but we're suckers for variety.
We did have to pay for the delivery (~$80) since we were already done in the Palos Verdes area and didn't want to drive back to Burbank. We could have used the Santa Monica bakery and had someone pick them up there, but we heard their reviews weren't as stellar as Burbank and we trust our Burbank bakery since we've had them so many times. So we paid for the extra to have them delivered from Burbank.
They don't set-up the cupcakes, but no biggie, I had my sister-in-law helping with that and in fact, the staff at the venue was more than willing to do it. We paid ~$30 to rent the cupcake tier from Yummy.
We didn't do any fancy decorations on the cupcakes. Didn't need to - when they're all set up - the tier looks impressive.
It was a big hit!

With this vendor, it was the classic question of whether the end product justifies the process. The cupcakes themselves were great, and we got rave compliments from many of the guests. On the other hand, getting them to the wedding was a problem. Every time we tried to call, we were referred to their event coordinator, who was rarely in the store. Regular employees couldn't answer basic questions and calls weren't returned for days at a time, if at all.

We ended up having to leave our entire order and delivery instructions on the store's voicemail, and had to rely on regular employee promises that the message would be checked and executed accordingly. When the cupcakes were delivered to the venue on the day of the wedding, they only dropped off two of the four flavors we ordered. And we still haven't received an invoice for the cupcakes, despite asking and being promised one three times.

Overall, there were a lot of problems coordinating with this vendor, but the end product (what we received of it, anyway) was raved about by the guests... which I guess is the most important thing.

This was the second best part of our wedding day (first being photos). Yummy Cupcakes in Santa monica delivered delicious cupcakes to my venue. I had the option to chose any flavors and as many of each as i wanted. they even made special torquoise icing for a set of cupcakes. they looked amazing on the tower an they tasted super fresh! I taste tested 5 local cupcake vendors and Yummy Cupcakes won by a landslide. They even won the competition based on price!
