Although it has been months since our March wedding, we still continue to hear compliments about our wedding -- which is largely due to Shayna and her impeccable skills as a wedding day coordinator. I was initially apprehensive about having a wedding day coordinator, but at my future-Mother-in-Law's insistence, Shayna quickly put me at ease. Planning a wedding on the opposite coast was made into a delightful task with Shayna's responsiveness to emails, phone-calls, and any questions regarding vendors, etc. When I needed to meet Shayna face-to-face to go over details, making an appointment was no hassle with her flexibility. Even when a small crisis occurred with our cake, Shayna stepped in and professionally handled the matter in a graceful yet assertive way. It is always a good feeling when you know someone is going to go to bat for you. The small touches and attention to detail made the day one we could relax and enjoy, without the hassle of trying to keep track of the minute aspects. Our wedding was beautiful, fun, and memorable -- and without Shayna at the wheel it could not have been. I recommend her unequivocally to any brides in the greater-Williamsburg area. Our wedding day was a great success, and it was largely thanks to Shayna and her staff. Everything went just as planned -- in fact, it was greater than we imagined it could be. Because of their hard work, we could relax and enjoy the festivities. We are so happy to say that our wedding was the most fun wedding we've ever attended! I think many of our guests felt the same way. We truly appreciated Shayna's promptness, professionalism, and sense of fun. Retaining her services was perhaps the best decision we made in planning our wedding.

I feel badly writing this review in that my experience was atypical for this particular vendor. I, unfortunately, was not given the services of Shayna despite the fact that I had signed a $5,500 contract with the company for a full service wedding planning package. Instead, I was given a junior planner named Lauralee (who no longer works with the company) and who was unfairly thrown into the deep end with a full planning contract despite only 4 months of experience with the company at the time I signed with them. Lauralee is a lovely person but she simply was not experienced enough for this kind of work. She'd been in the area less than a year and didn't have enough knowledge of the local vendors and services to provide quality recommendations (one of the reasons I signed up for a full service contract). She also was inexperienced at time management. Emails were frequently unreturned or returned weeks late because she had to "check to Shayna" for the answer-a huge red flag that she was not experienced enough to take on a contract of her own.

In addition, I often would have meetings with Lauralee where she would take down "action notes" to be accomplished by the time of the next meeting but when we met again the action points weren't completed and in most cases she had forgotten them and hadn't started working on them. There were also many meetings when she arrived unprepared-for example showing up to our meetings to discuss table linens with a fabric book two years out of date (she left the up to date one at her office) so some of the designs had been discontinued, making it hard to select a fabric or pattern.

The actual day of coordination went smoothly and finally got to meet Shayna (she had zero input on any of my wedding planning despite her being the experienced planner) but I paid for a full planning package, not just a day of package. I felt as though I wasted the additional $3000 to get a full service package as I ended up doing the majority of work myself and actually had to manage Lauralee at many points. I really do like Lauralee as a person and she did do some nice things for us, including getting us a discount on A/V equipment, recommending a DJ, and the room itself where our reception was held was beautifully decorated due to her hard work but that does not equal $5,500 worth of service. I really do wish I had had the opportunity to work with Shayna like it seems virtually every other bride that came through her doors. I'm not sure why I was not afforded this opportunity.

My only recommendation to Shayna is that if you ever bring on a partner again, please give them the chance to work on day of and partial service packages for a year or two, then do a joint full package wedding with you and then, when she or he has proved themselves, let them work on a full package service alone. Your clients are paying top dollar and expect the following: good vendor recommendations, suggestions regarding the following: room set up, timeline, transportation arrangements, catering, and guest management, information regarding wedding trends or ideas from previous weddings that your clients can incorporate into their weddings, and finally the opportunity for clients to learn from your past client's mistakes or issues so they can have the best day possible. I don't feel like this was provided to me on my wedding day so please ensure that your future brides do have this opportunity as this is what makes having a wedding planner so valuable.

Shayna Walker was absolutely invaluable as our wedding planner! I do not think that our wedding would have run as smoothly or been as well-organized without her. We actually ran ahead of schedule!

Shayna was a fantastic resource. She helped us find the best vendors in the Williamsburg area, and we appreciated her limitless knowledge of wedding etiquette. She answered every question that we had in a timely and detailed manner. Shayna is the consummate wedding planning professional, and we had a wonderful time working with her. My husband and I would recommend her to anyone as a wedding planner in a heartbeat.

Shayna and Williamsburg Wedding Design provided day of services for our August Williamsburg wedding. She and her team were amazing! She definitely went above and beyond what I thought 'day of planning' meant and made the day just perfect. My parents and I by far think of her as the number one vendor we used and highly recommend her for future brides. We kept thinking the weekend of the wedding she was just priceless!

We loved working with Shayna! She was so helpful. No complaints!

The reason I could not give Shayna & Williamsburg Wedding Design a 5 on quality of service is a small lack of communication regarding the clean-up after the reception. As the bride, my brain was checked at "I do" - I wish there had been communication with my mother regarding what items needed to go with whom in order to clear out the reception site. Our church's communion plate and cup, plus the votives I purchased for the tables did not make it back to our hotel. No one has been able to locate them.

Other than that picky thing, everything was great!

Shayna was great! She helped the day go smoothly. I would recommend her to anyone.

Excellent and professional service was provided by Williamsburg Wedding Design. Leading up to the wedding, Shayna always responded quickly to e-mails and made time in her busy schedule to meet with us. On the day of our wedding, Shayna and her team provided the most stress-free day for all of our family and friends to enjoy.

Shayna was amazing. She was responsive throughout the planning process and always had thoughtful ideas and insights. On the day of the wedding, she did all of the heavy lifting. I was never even once stressed or worried about anything. She did it all. I highly recommend Shayna to all brides in Williamburg!

Do not have a wedding without a day of coordinator if you can get Shayna. She is just a god send. She does has this amazing talent of being every where at once yet is so low key that just blends into the back ground. It is like having this angel that goes around making sure the whole wedding is running smoothly yet is not obtrusive or interfering at all with the event. My mother said all day Thank God I hired her. I am sure that I don't even know all the little things she did for us on that day but what I do know I am so grateful for. She is well worth it and more important they almost every thing else at the wedding as far as venders go.

Our wedding day was a huge success thanks to the Williamsburg Wedding Design Team led by Shayna Walker. From planning to execution – our rehearsal, ceremony, and reception was seamless. Shayna is truly a wedding master and did not leave any detail to chance. We have received comments from several of our guests about our wedding and how well everything went and that credit has to be extended to Shayna, Lauralee, Jessica, and Jessica! The Willamsburg Wedding Design was the best investment we made on our wedding. I don't know what we would have done without Shayna and her staff. From the first meeting to the day of the wedding, they were professional, proficient, and had thought of every detail.

As the mother of the groom, planning a wedding with your soon to be daughter-in-law can be tricky! We hired a wedding planner to help us find vendors and sites since we had 7 months before a wedding that was to take place in Williamsburg in June. Shayna not only recommended excellent vendors, but she helped with all contracts, scheduling, and minute details. One of my first comments when we met with Shayna was that I wanted a stress-free event, thinking that I was asking for the impossible. But I must say, on the day of the wedding, I was hardly nervous since I knew that Shayna had everything under control. She came very close to making my request a reality! The wedding was beautiful and the reception was incredibly fun for everyone. What more could I ask! Thanks Shayna for making the day perfect.

All I can say about Shayna is THANK YOU! She made our wedding run seamlessly and with seemingly little effort! Let me brag on her and her staff for a minute.

I hired Shayna to be our day-of coordinator. We worked together for months leading up to the wedding, she responded via email and phone to recommend vendors and we prepared my big timeline for the day. She gave me honest feedback regarding the flow of the reception and ceremony, and was valuable in assisting me in making choices about the wedding party and seating.

She ran the rehearsal smoothly and quickly. She diffused a very stressful situation in which the venue manager actually got hostile with me. From the time she handled him so effortlessly, she put my mind at ease and it was smooth sailing all the way through til the end of the wedding.

The day of, while my girls and I were getting ready, her staff was picking up flowers and setting up decorations. When the 101 degree heat proved to be too scalding for our original ceremony location in the garden, she orchestrated moving the whole ceremony setup into the shade. She fielded vendors, directed family, assisted the photographer, told people where to go and what to do. Her staff even ran back to a local hotel to fetch my wedding band which I left in the room when we were taking photographs! Everything was perfect.

Afterward, my mom had to do very little, Shayna and her staff handled cleanup and lockup, we didn't have to worry about a thing.

I was dubious about spending money for a coordinator, but let me tell you it was worth EVERY PENNY. Contrasted with my sister's wedding where there was no coordinator but plenty of stress, mine was stress free, and we were able to just sit back and enjoy the day with family. We are so pleased we hired Shayna and her staff. Hire her, you won't be sorry!

Shayna's upmost goal is to make sure the wedding day is as perfect as can be for the bride on her special day. And that started from the day we hired her through all the selections of vendors, reception site, etc. to the set up of the ballroom for the reception which was beautiful. She even arranged lunch for the bride and her bridesmaids and delivered same at the hotel and kept on top of things through her assistants. I loved working with her.
