After getting engaged, Walkers Overlook was the first venue that my husband and I visited. We were going just for fun to get the whole wedding planning process started, but ended up absolutely falling in love with the place. We loved the all-in-one feel of Walkers Overlook. The convenience of being able to get ready in the main house was very important to us. The bridal suite and "man cave" were exactly what we were looking for to keep our wedding day running smoothly. On top of convenience, the grounds are absolutely beautiful. The ceremony site and reception tent have stunning views of the mountains and fields in the area. Walkers Overlook just checked all the boxes for us. On top of that, they made us feel like family. If you want a venue with owners and staff that will treat you like family, not just another client, there is nowhere else to even consider.
My husband and I fell in love with this venue from the moment we pulled up the long driveway to the beautiful stone farmhouse. Mark, one of the owners, met us right out front on our first visit to give us a tour. He took his time to show us the space and answered any and all questions we had. Once we booked the venue we were assigned a coordinator, Holly, and she took over to help us plan for the big day. She was wonderful to work with. Any question I had Holly was quick to answer or help me think through options. One of the biggest selling points of the venue, beside being beyond gorgeous, is that you get to use of the entire space for the whole day! The top floor houses the bridal suite where I was able to get ready and relax with my girls. Our stylists came to the venue so once we arrived there was no need to move anywhere else. I found this to be such a stress reliever. There is also space for the guys. The basement has a "man cave" with a bar and pinball machines which was a major selling point for my husband. I can't thank this venue enough for making our wedding so memorable and everything we could have hoped it to be.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. I'm very happy you enjoyed your wedding here at the farm. We get many compliments about the brides room and the man cave. Of course my personal favorite is the man cave.
Thank you so much for having your wedding with us.
Sincerely , Mark Lynch
There are so many great things about this venue that I'm sure I don't have room to list them all! 1) The fact that you have the venue for a full 12 hours is beyond amazing. We were able to set up decor, have hair/makeup done in the gorgeous bridal suite, and relax with some food and drinks before it was go time. 2) Our coordinator, Holly, was so delightful to work with, very sweet and accommodating. 3) The aesthetics of the venue itself offer endless photo ops and hidden nooks and crannies to explore and appreciate. 4) There are so many options as far as where to have the ceremony, cocktail hour inside or outside, different uses of the beautiful old truck, use of one or two firepits- we used one for smores. I feel so lucky to have experienced the venue as a bride, but now I want to go back and experience it as a guest as well! Absolutely loved it.
Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review for us.
I think we need to have a party for just our wedding couples.
That way you can come back and just enjoy yourself
Walker's Overlook was the perfect setting for my Fall Wedding, but is simply beautiful any time of year. The venue is so gorgeous that even with minimal decorating the ceremony and reception were stunning. With the mix of rustic charm and historic style, Walker's Overlook is a must see for all couples. I fell in love with this venue the moment I saw it, and couldn't have asked for a more professional, experienced, attentive group of people to work with while planning and executing my wedding day. Mark and Missi (my day-of coordinator) took all my worries away and helped to create an amazing day. This should be your first stop if you are looking for an outdoor ceremony and reception all in one. Highly recommend!!!
Thank you so much for your review, it arrived in my inbox on Veterans Day. I happen to be a veteran and I enjoy Veterans Day and your wonderful review was just the icing on the cake. Please come back and visit us anytime.
Sincerely, Mark Lynch
Walker's Overlook is an absolutely stunning wedding venue. I loved the rustic setting, and at the same time all parts of the grounds are so beautifully kept. The location is accessible but also remote enough that you have privacy and no stack of rules about noise and how late you can party.
All of the staff is so pleasant. The owner Mark is very friendly and professional, as are the coordinators. The day-of coordinator that they provided for me, Mel was easily accessible to answer questions I had. They all worked well with the planner I hired. The list of preferred vendors they gave us had lots of options, and Mark was very considerate of our budget and the type of party we wanted to throw and helped us pick a great caterer.
One of the things that I liked the best was that when I booked the venue- it was mine for the day. You have access to this big gorgeous updated historic farmhouse, and the surrounding outdoor areas. I didn't have to split the location with another wedding. Many venues would only give you six hours- we arrived on site at 10am to unload our decorations and get hair and makeup started (in the gorgeous bridal suite, plus there is a super cool man-cave for the guys) and partied until the end of our reception at 10pm without any issues. Pre-ceremony we could bring or order in food to nosh on while getting ready, and pick music we wanted on their sound system inside while getting ready. They also did not nickle and dime us over little things. At many places we'd be quoted the location cost, then were met with random fees and conditions.
Overall we looked at 3 venues, and I'll never forget my fiance saying "why are we bothering to look anywhere else" as we left Walker's. We made a quick coffee stop to talk about it, then I turned right back around to sign the contract. I never regretted it. I feel like it was the perfect choice for giving ourselves, our wedding party, and all out guests a fun, enjoyable and relaxing time.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review about our farm.
I can't tell you how much I appreciate it when people do this. I'm so happy that you enjoyed your day with us.
If you are reading this because you are trying to decide where to book your wedding, keep reading! I hope my review will help you decide to visit and take a tour of Walker's Overlook in Maryland! As parents of the bride, all we wanted, as all parents wish; for our daughter's day to be as perfect as possible. Choosing Walker's Overlook made our daughter's dream wedding a reality. My husband, daughter, her fiance and I visited all the venues in the area before making the obvious decision to choose Walker's. These are just a few of the things that make Walker's so special and which I recommend seeing in person to appreciate: the beautiful bucolic setting, huge white tent with gorgeous wood floor and attached gazebo, amazing photo options/settings throughout the grounds and house, gorgeous stone farmhouse - for use all day and night of the wedding (with an option for handicap access), the amazing bridal suite - with private access all day and evening for the bride and bridal party, the perfect "man cave" for the guys (my son- in-law and his groomsmen enjoyed all day), the friendly, professional and amazingly attentive owner, Mark Lynch and his staff, Juanita and Missi (best wedding coordinator ever.) Our wedding was large - 250 guests and there are few venues in the tri state area that can truly ADEQUATELY accommodate that size wedding unless you go to Baltimore or DC. Be very wary of those who say they can accommodate the large numbers. Walker's truly can handle a crowd up to 300. Walker's Overlook is a professionally run, beautiful venue, where the staff can't do enough to make their clients feel comfortable, welcomed and stress free. Our daughter's wedding day was truly perfect because we chose Walker's Overlook. We wish Mark and David continued success and wish to express our deepest gratitude to them and the staff for helping us create the type of wonderful wedding memories that our daughter, son-in-law and our families will enjoy for a lifetime. Beautiful place. Got so many compliments! Everyone was so easy and nice to work with. Made my wedding day perfect!
Words can not describe how impressed and happy my husband and I are with Walker's Overlook! Our first meeting with Mark to view the venue couldn't have been better. He was so friendly and knowledgeable! He made us feel right at home. Once we signed our contract we were introduced to Missi who worked with us throughout the rest of the wedding planning and process. She was absolutely wonderful to work with! She went above and beyond to answer my questions and help me with planning. I couldn't have asked for a better wedding event coordinator to work with. On the day of the wedding, she was there to help us set up and made sure the whole day ran smoothly! The venue is absolutely stunning also. My guest and family were overwhelmed with the beauty of the house and property. The tent is amazing for the reception as well with it's hardwood floors, tables, and chairs. If we decided to do it all over again we would not have changed a thing about Walker's Overlook. It met everyone of our needs and wants and anyone would be silly not to check it out!!! If you want to work with friendly, caring, and accommodating people then Walker's Overlook is your venue!! Thank you again for making Jeremiah and my wedding dream come true!! -Tricia Hall
When I read reviews about the farm and people are so nice to us.
All I can really say is thank you so much for having your wedding with us.
I am thrilled that you were happy with everything on your wedding day.
Stop back and see us anytime. Mark
My husband and I had our reception at Walker's Overlook on July 4. I don't even think I can begin to say all of the positive things I want to about Mark, Holly, and the rest of the team. We met with Mark in June 2014 and just knew we wanted to have our reception at Walker's. Mark is so honest and you feel like you're talking to someone you've known all of your life when you meet him. He answered all of the questions we and my parents had honestly. Holly was our coordinator for the day of and we met with her twice leading up to the wedding. She was very flexible and helpful when it came to making sure our day was exactly how we envisioned. The great part about this venue is that you can get ready in the house. The ladies upstairs in the stunning bridal suite (with a huge bathroom for everyone to do hair/makeup) and the guys in the 'man cave' with old school pinball machines and a big tv. It rained in the morning of our wedding and Holly did a great job communicating to my bridal party and me what the rain plan would be for cocktail hour. (We had our ceremony at a church down the road). The sun came out for our cocktail hour and reception, so while we were at the ceremony Holly made sure everything was set up for when guests arrived at cocktail hour. Everyone told me the wedding was seamless and relaxed, I know I can owe this to the amazing atmosphere and venue that is Walker's Overlook but also to Holly and Mark. We had a sparkler send off at the end of the night and the closer and his team were very efficient with lining everyone up and lighting the sparklers for us to run through. The tent was great, and we lucked out with the weather not being too hot, but they have many large AC units for those hot, humid summer days. The landscaping is so beautiful and every time we visited Walker's the year before the wedding, someone (usually Mark's sister) was outside tending to the gardens. Everyone was so impressed with the venue. I would recommend Walker's 100%!
To start, if I could give Walker's 10 stars I would. There are so many good things, & only good things I can say about Walker's Overlook. First off, contacting Walker's was really easy. I called & spoke to one of the owners (Mark) & he was so flexible, to the point where my husband & I were stressing out about finding a place, we were like "how about we just call and see if Walker's will allow a site visit today"; of course when we called Mark, he was like "Sure! Come on over!" When we got there, let's just say we pretty much knew Walker's was "it." When we got there we were greeted by Juanita she gave us a tour around the venue and in every part of the house, it just got better & better, it was even more amazing when we got outside with the tent, the field, and the gazebo. I remember my husband and I said to each other that Walker's is the one vendor that we felt completely comfortable paying for. Everything was absolutely hands down worth every penny. For those brides 2B that come from traditional Vietnamese families, I want to say that when my husband and I had booked this venue, many of our family members were skeptical of our choice. When the day came for our wedding, both sides of our families were blown away. We received so many compliments about Walker’s. Missi our site coordinator was absolutely amazing as well. Any question or assistance I needed, she was there to help in any way possible. She contacted me throughout the months prior to the wedding check in with me. In addition during the wedding day, Jake (our closer) was amazing as well. He followed through with every request we asked. The staff at Walker's are just wonderful. My husband and I are thrilled that we went with Walker's. It is not often you find people that own a business who care more about the people they serve than the business itself. Mark and his staff are just wonderfully honest and genuine people, they care about you and make sure that you are taken care of.
LOVE everything about this venue. Staff and wedding coordinator were amazing and made the day go so smooth. The setting is so perfect for a fall wedding.
We loved Walkers Overlook. We had such a beautiful day for out wedding. Mark and the staff were great!
Walkers Overlook is the premier wedding venue. From the first encounter to the last the staff could not have been better. Mel was our attendant for the day and she was so attentive. The Bridal suite and Man Cave were so much fun for the wedding attendants. The guests were overwhelmed by the natural beauty of the venue. Our daughters wedding was absolutely PERFECT, thank you, Walkers Overlook.

Can not say enough wonderful things about our experience at Walker's Overlook. I am the father of the bride, and from the moment we first drove up the long driveway to the spectacular facility and grounds, we knew this was where the wedding would take place. Meeting with Mark and getting the complete tour only solidified our feelings of warmth, comfort, and beauty about Walker's Overlook. We had been looking at rustic venues, including barns and Inns in the area, but Walker's Overlook took the cake hands down.
Mark was very professional and personable - we felt like he was an old friend from the minute we met him. He went out of his way to ensure we had all the information we needed and spent time with us to learn as much as he could about what we were looking for in a venue for this special occasion. Follow-on communication with Mark was very easy via email and phone, and he was extremely responsive.
We met Missi, our coordinator at Walker's Overlook, several months before the wedding to go over the venue in detail with our caterer to ensure everything was planned out. Missi took detailed notes, provided our caterer with everything they needed, and was very helpful. This was just a sign of things to come as the wedding day arrived.
On the wedding day, Missi was spectacular. She took care of so many things, making sure nothing was left to chance. She had an air of confidence about her that put us at ease. And to top it all off, she surprised us with a rainbow at the perfect time.
At the end of our event, long after most of the guests had left, Mark was hanging out with my son-in-law's dog, a big Boxer. When the hotel shuttle left (without taking our last set of guests back to the hotel), he offered to take them all back in his truck. Like I mentioned earlier, it was as if he was an old friend - there when you needed him.
If you are looking for a beautiful venue for your wedding, look no further!!!
Mark and Missi both went above and beyond to make our wedding day amazing! We loved the venue and couldn't have asked for a better Wedding Day!
Ah Walkers Overlook... I'm not sure that I can fit all I would love to say in my review. In a nutshell, thank you for offering access to your beautiful property and making us feel like it was truly our home for the day. It was a joy to work with Mark & Mel throughout the planning process because I felt free to text message Mel with any questions I might have at any time of day and she assured me that no question was silly or too insignificant! Until I found Walkers Overlook, it was difficult to find a venue that gave me so much freedom in wedding planning. Walkers Overlook felt more like a relative's home than a business. We had so much freedom in who we selected as our caterer, our bartenders, our DJ, our officiant, etc. It meant so much to me to have those options because we were able to create a wedding that really felt personal--it was a true reflection of "us." On top of that, we were the only wedding taking place that day and had full access to the reception area, ceremony site, bridal suite, kitchen, and more from 10am-midnight, meaning all of our families and friends were able to be there to help decorate and having that experience together was just as memorable, if not more, than the wedding. So THANK YOU, my only regret is that I wish we could have such a great experience all over again!
