First off, let me state that I am not the bride or groom, but rather a family member who was instrumental in helping pick it out this venue and although the venue itself is beautiful, that is about all that can be said about the Whitlock Inn as from the very beginning of the evening there was utter chaos.

Months ago, my wife and other relatives visited there and made specific requests for this outside wedding, including small white lights to be placed in the trees and surrounding area since it was going to be in November. When we got there - no lights. If it wasn't for the streetlight on the other side of the fence, it would have been totally dark except for a few candles they had lit. When I enquired as to where the lights that were requested were, I was told by the "wedding director" (and I use that term loosely) "Those are the lights." When I reiterated that it's going to be hard for everyone to see the ceremony I was told, "Let me repeat - those are the lights." And then she walked away. Even the preacher - during the ceremony - said he couldn't see! In addition, there was zero direction to guide the family members to their seats so everyone was mixed up on both sides of ceremony.

However inside the venue it was the opposite problem - the lights were bright- too bright. After asking repeatedly for someone to turn them down so as to set the tone of the evening, I finally located and turned them down myself. When someone from the wait staff turned them back up, and everyone looked around to see why, I had to go turn them down again.

Also - the bride and groom had ordered beer and wine to be served and much to our surprise, no one could find it. Finally, it was discovered they had put the bar outside of the venue on the deck! We finally found it and had to go around and tell everyone else where it was.

Also, the servers were extremely rude and acted as if they were doing us a favor whenever we asked them something. The champagne flutes that we brought to the wedding went missing as well as the flower arrangements we had brought. When we asked one of the wait staff where they all were, they told us they had packed it up. When we asked where, she acted very put out saying she'd "take care of it".

There was zero direction with regard to cutting the cake, toasting, etc,. and at every table there was a sign that said, "Reserved" which made no sense because there was no reserved seating. If it hadn't been for some family members and the hired musicians, no one would have known what to do and when to do it.

To sum up, if you're thinking about having your wedding there, I would seriously suggest you look elsewhere. There are too many terrific venues in around the area that I am sure would be a better choice. There are too many stresses in a wedding to start with and the venue and final night is supposed to be special. Thank goodness the bride and groom were able to make the best of it but if I were you, I'd run, not walk from Whitlock Inn. Just be sure you can see where you're going...

The Whitlock Inn was the perfect location fo my June wedding. I could not have been more pleased with every aspect. The grounds are BEAUTIFUL and needed very little additional decorations for an intimate outdoor garden wedding. I had a Saturday morning wedding and adored it but could also invision how great an evening wedding there would be. The set up inside and outside were beautiful. Table linens were included with many wonderful choices to choose from. The food was wonderful and the cake (yes they do the cake there as well!) were perfect. Alexis and the staff took care of everything asked and provided great insight. It was the perfect venue because I was able to make the wedding so intimate and personal but seemed so stress free because most aspects of the wedding were taken care of by the one vendor. Prices were great and you can bring in your alcohol. Cannot say enough great things about the staff and the Whitlock Inn!

I am a mother of the bride. What more can a parent ask for than for her only child, a daughter, to tell her that her wedding was the happiest, most magical occasion of her life so far? Whitlock Inn handled every detail EXACTLY as we preferred. There was a wedding before us that ended at 3 p.m and we had some qualms about how much attention they would give us; we arrived at 5 p.m for our 7 p.m wedding and we entered a fairy tale! So many friends and family have emailed to say that they have never, ever been to such an absolutely perfect wedding and that the execution was flawless - well, we can take no credit as Whitlock Inn did everything. The staff is wonderfully accommodating, the garden is spectacular, the home is beautiful and the vendors they suggest are fantastic. Best story yet? My husband overheard two of the guests talking about what they estimated the price of our wedding to be, and we paid a mere fraction of what they thought! You cannot go wrong with The Whitlock.

Our experience at the Whitlock Inn was WONDERFUL!! The food was delicious, the staff was nothing but helpful (especially Alexis, the innkeeper), and our wedding went off without a hitch! It actually stormed right before the outdoor ceremony was supposed to start. Alexis and the coordinator, Margie, kept me informed about the weather-they brought the laptop upstairs to show me the radar and discussed with me what to do. Ultimately we decided to wait ten minutes to see if it moved out-it did, and our wedding was beautiful! I would highly recommend the Whitlock to any bride looking for a beautiful setting and excellent staff.

The Whitlock Inn was the perfect venue for our wedding. We had a nighttime ceremony in late October in the back garden, and it was very beautiful and intimate. We couldn't have dreamed it to turn out to be more perfect. The setting at the Inn is charmingly Southern, which was ideal for me and my now husband. Alexis, our main contact at the Inn, was very responsive to us and helped us get everything set up to our liking. The other staff members we worked with were just as friendly and helpful. The Inn itself is a perfect venue choice if you're looking for a cozy yet elegant place to have your wedding. We are so happy we chose the Whitlock Inn, and appreciate how much the staff helped to make our wedding day exactly what we hoped it would be!

We chose The Whitlock Inn for our daughter's wedding, and we could not have been more pleased with the elegant, romantic setting or the service. Everything was very organized from the very beginning, as we were given an information packet that was very detailed and covered most of my questions that arose. Alexis and her staff are very professional and helpful! When the wedding day arrived, Alexis and Karen took over and made everything run smoothly and perfectly! The food, flowers, staff were all exceptional, and we could not ask for more. I highly recommend The Whitlock Inn! I suspect that my daughter and son-in-law will want to return there for a weekend getaway when their first anniversary rolls around!

I can't say enough great things about all the people at the Whitlock that made our wedding day perfect. Our guests had a great time and are still saying our wedding was the best they've ever attended. The food was outstanding and the staff was helpful, friendly, and accommodating throughout the planning and the night itself. We had the flexibility to make our day exactly as we wanted it and are still aglow from the wonderful time we had. I highly recommend the Whitlock Inn for your wedding!

Alexis and her staff wowed us. Easy planning. Amazing selections. First class treatment. Stellar in every way. They turned a "simple" affair into a storybook evening. Everyone was WOWED. I really can't say enough wonderful things on every aspect of everything they did..food, flowers, set-up, staff, wedding director......everything was done for us so I didn't have to do or think about anything except enjoy myself at my daughter's wedding.....they even straightened my husbands tie !!! This is the perfect place for a wedding !

My wedding was beautiful! The Whitlock Inn was everything I was looking for. The garden was perfect for my ceremony and the house and patios made the perfect reception. The buffet was fabulous. The staff was very friendly and professional. The packages are great and made it easier to plan because so much was included in the package!

Alexis (the innkeeper) did an excellent job with our wedding reception! It was so easy to plan the reception as the Whitlock Inn has their own catering service on sight (which I must say the food and cake were great!) as well as all of the things to decorate with, so therefore we did not have to deal with linens and such!!! Overall, we had a great experience with the Whitlock Inn!

The Whitlock Inn was absolutely, without a doubt, the perfect location for our wedding. I was looking for older, beautiful houses when searching for the site and the moment we walked in the door we knew the Whitlock Inn would be the place! The innkeeper, Alexis, is very helpful and energetic--and always fast to respond to my emails with questions! They also make it easy for your wedding planning there, by having a catering service on-site to handle all of the food and the wedding cake. That definitely made planning a breeze! All of the caterer's displays were beautiful and the cake was just what I wanted! I would highly recommend the Whitlock for you wedding--you won't be disappointed!

Alexis was great to work with, the house is beautiful and nicely kept up, the wedding cake was even better than the pictures I gave them to work with. Everyone said the food was great, although I didn't get a chance to eat there. They do make a huge take-home bag for the bride and groom. I didn't need an event planner because the caterer moved everything along smoothly. The only drawback is that the bartenders set up a tip jar, which I think is tacky.

The people at the Whitlock Inn were amazing. They were with me every step of the way for every decision they made sure everything I wanted would happen. They followed up with any questions I had and they made my wedding look like it cost more than what we spent, everyone who wants a private outdoor wedding surrounded by their family and friends should come here they were the best by far.
