We are SO thankful we chose the Juniper Spoon. Lali and her team went above and beyond in so many ways to make our day perfect. Leading up to the wedding, she was so organized, incredibly responsive and kept track of a thousand little requests we had. She always made us feel comfortable during the planning process and handled so many details perfectly.
The food was INCREDIBLE and our guests kept raving about it. They create such unique, fresh dishes that your guests will absolutely love. Each dish had so much flavor, and it all paired together so nicely. Lali works so hard to source her ingredients locally, and we’ve never had catered food that tasted so fresh and homemade. And she somehow does all of this at a very reasonable price. She also added so many thoughtful touches - like a kids table for our little guests and an extra charcuterie board on the head table to make sure the bride and groom got to try the cocktail hour snacks!
Lali and her team were so kind and made sure all our guests felt comfortable throughout the day, making sure to accommodate for all sorts of dietary needs. They were such a joy to work with. We could not have asked for a better caterer, and could not recommend The Juniper Spoon more! -

The food at our wedding was very important to us. We wanted a caterer that focused on quality and had unique, local offerings. The Juniper Spoon nailed it! The food was delicious and they were so easy to work with. Lali suggested amazing options and was responsive to even my last minute requests. Thank you Juniper Spoon! -

The Juniper Spoon worked with me to create a menu that was so personalized to my husband and me. My husband is Indian, so we had several vegetarians/non-beef eaters to cater to, as well as several gluten free folks---and lots of foodies. People from each of those groups all told me how amazing the food was! One thing I just loved was that while creating the menu, Lali had several food options that were nods to my husband’s culture, but she also asked me about my culture and suggested dishes for me as well. The result was an incredibly unique, inspired menu that tasted even better that I could have imagined. I also got quotes from several other caterers and The Juniper Spoon was very competitive. Plus, they were just so wonderful to work with. Lali was just FUN and on top of it, and (especially because I know nothing about ordering catering) gave me so much confidence that I didn’t have to stress about everything food-wise to be perfect. I just can’t say enough food things.
Because I think it’s so awesome, here’s what we had:
Hors d'Oeuvres Table: Chana Chaat dip, Beer Cheese Dip, Corn Fritters, Boursin Stuffed Mushrooms, Lamb Tikka Meatballs
Luncheon Table: Tarragon Chicken Salad Wraps, Black Bean Sliders, Earth & Fire Slider (Beef Tenderloin), Spring Parmesan Risotto, Potatoes Tzapanos
One “warning”: their rustic vanilla cupcakes were so good that I’ll never be able to eat a regular cupcake again. One guest even told me, “This is the best ******* cupcake I’ve ever eaten!” -

Leigh Sent on 11/17/2015I am so happy with the wedding meal that was catered by Lali at the Juniper Spoon - our guests loved the food, and are still raving about the pork loin with parsley shallot sauce: it was the perfect autumn meal. Lali was a pleasure to work with - she was responsive to our inquiries, creative when it came to designing our menu, extremely flexible (adding hot beverages to our menu only two days in advance, when it turned unexpectedly cold), and she and her staff were extremely professional the day of the wedding. Her locally sourced, naturally inspired menu was perfect for us, and I only wish that we lived in Indianapolis and could hire her to cater all of our future events! Highly recommend her and her team. -

User2248837 Sent on 07/30/2015Lali Hess and the Juniper Spoon staff were a pleasure to work with! They customized a menu according to our taste, interests, and budget. For example, we asked for something with a Mediterranean/North African influence. Lali came up with a menu that consisted of Moroccan lamb tagine served on couscous, potato salad tzapanos, naan bread, and a Greek salad--not your usual wedding fare! On the day of our wedding, they were extremely professional and required no oversight or management. They even packed up the leftovers for us to take home after the wedding. We were especially pleased that the Juniper Spoon locally sources and grows their food--not only does it align with our own values, but I think that it comes through in the quality and care that they put into making the food. Our only complaint is that the food could have been a little warmer when it was served. But overall, I wholeheartedly recommend the Juniper Spoon to anyone.
