The Icing did a fabulous job on our wedding cake. We had a four tier round fondant. They are extremely professional and a pleasure to work with. My only complaint is that they are a bit expensive but in the end the cake was delicious and absolutely beautiful so it was well worth the money.

I loved the Icing! Their work is just wonderful. My fiance and I wanted a sculpture cake and I was a little nervous. Sure, they look great on Cake Boss or Ace of Cakes, but at a local bakery? Yes! Our sculpture was of a mountain with a waterfall, campsite, figures of us and various animals and it turned out great. And from looking at their books I could see that the more traditional cakes look great too, they are especially good with their fondant work. And if my fiance wasn't set on red velvet I would have had a hard time picking the flavor. The flavors I tried were amazing and they have quite a selection.

One other thing I have to mention that really set this vendor apart from a lot of others. While I was planning my wedding my fiance was deployed and due to the nature of his deployment, we didn't have a solid homecoming day/week. So we had to ask every vendor what would happen if we had to change the wedding date. The Icing was the most flexible with us by far. A lot of vendors will tell you they want to "help make your day special" but I felt like they really meant it. I would highly recommend this bakery to anyone!

Our wedding was Oct. 16, 2011. We met for our consultation and were given design books to look at . We were also presented with delicious samples of cakes and fillings to choose from. They were so good we couldn't decide then, but were assured we could decide later. I showed them the design I had come up with and was assured it wouldn't be a problem to create. The price of our cake was reasonable and we also purchased our topper. The Icing also delivered our cake on a Sunday, which most places would not do! On our wedding day, I was estatic when I saw our cake- it was exactly what I imagined and had pictured! The colors matched our wedding colors perfectly!! When we cut into our cake, it was fresh, moist and sooo delicious! I can assure you I had plenty of each flavor. We also received many compliments from our guests- on both the taste and appearance! My husband and I have and would recommend The Icing to anyone!

The Icing did a beautiful job on our wedding cake. It tasted delicious and was gorgeous. Although there was a very small issue which occurred during our experience with them, the owner resolved it to my complete satisfaction with her professionalism and courtesy, and I would absolutely tell any bride to use them!

The Icing prepared my wedding cake for my 9/24/2011 wedding! It was the most beautiful cake I have ever seen! We met with them and designed it and they were so accommodating! Not only was the cake beautiful, it was delicious! I love the idea of the smaller cakes to give to guests around the bottom, and our guests had nothing but wonderful things to say about it! The Icing provided us a wonderful cake. It looked beautiful and tasted wonderful. The one on one interaction with everyone in the bakery was pleasant. We would recommend them to anyone who needs a cake. They have great cupcakes too.

I wanted to make sure that our wedding cake had both the look and the taste we wanted. My husband and I absolutely loved their cakes, the wedding and grooms cake, which were equally beautiful and tasted amazing. We will be getting any cake in the future from here. You definitely get what you pay for.

My husband and I recently used The Icing for our wedding reception which included a decorated cake as well as cupcakes for the guests. Not only was everything delicious but as a Bride that put the entire wedding together herself, I never had to worry about anything. They set everything up for the reception and were extremely cooperative. We thoroughly enjoyed the taste testing sampling that they provided. Not only did they have several cake and icing flavors but also various fillings that they can incorporate into the cakes. My only regret or wish was that I could have more flavors as everything I have tried there has been delicious. They also allowed us to come up with flavors that they would do for us for our special day that they normally don't do on a day to day basis as their cupcake flavors are seasonal. We recommend them for everything from weddings, to baby showers, or even just cupcakes for a work function. Lynn and her staff were accommodating and easy to work with. I cannot thank them enough for their courtesy and professionalism.

Lynette was not easy to work with. I will say her cakes are very good but as for her she is very rude and not easy to work with. I do not think the cake was worth what we paid for it. We dropped off a $100 cake topper that I purchased for her to put on our wedding cake and when I got to the reception somone elses cake topper was on our cake and looked nothing like ours. When I confronted her by email she was extreamly rude! If I called the store they would say she was there and she would call me back and I called 4 times and never got a call back. She did not seem to even care about the mistake she had made one bit. I would never recommend this place to anyone getting married. Your wedding cake should be exactly what you want and she does not seem to understand that. Customer Service should be important to her and clearly is not. She sent me the most rude emails I have ever seen! We now have pictures in our professional album of a cake that we hated and a cake topper that is not what we wanted at all. Very ugly!

The Icing came into my life when things were turned upside down, AND I'm so glad they did!
I was blown away when I went in for the tasting, especially after some other tastings I had experienced.
They took the picture I gave them and did an amazing job replicating it. They took time to sit down and sketch out and design our cake. My cake was pretty “simple”, but I know that no matter what I had asked for they could have made it exactly how I had dreamed.
Although the design and look of the cake is important it’s not the most important thing though...the most important thing is that their cakes are the BEST cake I've ever had. I had many wedding cakes covered in fondant and every time I’ve ended up peeling it off and throwing it away…but not my wedding cake! They use very high quality fondant and it was delicious!!
I didn’t know about them before the wedding planning process, but now that I know where the bakery is, I'm in there for every special occasion cake I need.

Our cake was delicious, and beautiful! The staff were very helpful, and professional. We got exactly what we expected!

Everything about our cake was perfect! It was delicious and looked beautiful. There were so many flavors to choose but the Pink Champagne was awesome!

We used them for our wedding on May 1st at the Rock Hill Plantation and they were amazing! So easy to work with and they make the best cakes! We had a cupcake cake and it was great because we were able to use different flavors! (try the bacon cupcake). Not only was the set up beautiful but all the flavors were great. Our top cake for us to cut was a chocolate mint and let me tell you it was amazing! If you walk into their store you will be forced to try something because everything looks so great!

There are really only 2 good things I can say about The Icing. The cakes are beautiful and delicious and you have a few options for a reasonable prices (if you dare ask about them).

Their customer service; however, leaves a lot to be desired. They offer very reasonably priced "Simple Elegance" Cakes that are not custom and offer limited choices on colors, fillings, flavors etc.... my husband and I were fine with their choices but when we expressed interest in these more affordable cakes (a custom on by them would have cost more than double), we immediately recieved attitudes and were informed in a round about way that these cakes are designed for military couples who are on a budget and have to plan their weddings quickly. We were not military couple- just a young couple looking for a way to have an attractive, tasty cake without breaking our budget. We were rudely informed of the limited options offered for these cakes and left alone to chose which design we liked based off of a print off with 2 inch images. No one checked on us, offered to answer any questions, or anything. We chose the cake, signed the contract, paid the invoice and were told when and where to pick it up.

If it weren't for the price of the cake I would have walked right out of the shop.

THE CAKE WAS DELICIOUS. Everyone said so - not just us (who picked our favourite flavours). It was SOOOOOO good!!!

We chose a ganache covering instead of fondant (1st bride in 5 years apparently), and it's the most delicious thing ever. Because they use all natural products (no wax or crisco added), they were very concerned that the ganache might look lumpy or fall if it was too humid. We didn't care though - it was so good that if you covered a shoe with it, you'd probably still want to eat the shoe. (At least, we would consider it... ;-)) We had a spoon-textured cake with sugar flowers instead of a painted design, and it was gorgeous - no troubles at all!

And just in case you're wondering - the inside of the cake was as delicious as the outside!

The only issue we had was that they are sometimes slow to respond to emails (once or twice they didn't respond), but when we called they had all the necessary info, so if that was the only problem... not too bad, eh?

We also like that instead of having you freeze the top of the cake, they give you a coupon for a free (fresh) anniversary cake to be used in the first year of your marriage.

(Did I mention how phenomenonally delicious the cake was?!?)
