I truly believe I was fortunate to find this place. I was not looking forward to searching and trying on dresses because I'm sooooo indecisive as it is. The owner Judy is amazing and knows her stuff. She will tell you what looks good and what doesn't and she may even suggest a dress that you think wouldn't look good but it does. I was looking for a particular type of dress with rueshing to camouflage the abdomen area and she had lots of those to try on. After trying those on, she brought out a dress without the reushing and wanted me to try it. It was gorgeous but I was still thinking it wasn't going to look good on me. When I tried it on...WOW..I couldn't believe it was really me! It took my breath away! That was the dress. She has many dresses in many sizes and they are all gorgeous. You will have her attention 100% as she is by appointment only. Judy did my alteration and it fit like a glove. She went above and beyond as far as I'm concerned.

My daughter and I went to several other bridal shops before going to The Bridal Secret. Judy had a great variety of dresses well within our budget. In fact, the dress my daughter bought was less than half of what we had seen at another shop. Judy fit the dress perfectly and was very attentive to the details of the dress. We got a great value for a very beautiful dress.

Although I swore I wouldn't, I ended up purchasing a dress from David's (I really liked it and hate shopping, so I figured what the heck ?). The girl at the store told me I needed to order a size 2 regular (I wear 0 short) and of course it was to large in pretty much every part of my body. I found the Bridal Secret on wedding wire and was totally impressed by the great reviews, and I happen to work about 2 minutes away from the shop, so I figured I would check it out.
Judy definately lived up to her reviews! After speaking with her on the phone, she asked me to send a picture of the dress so she could get a better idea of what alterations were needed before I came in. She was extremely flexible with my schedule, meeting me early in the morning before the official store hours for alterations. Judy took great care in fitting me, from waiting patiently while I went back and forth trying different cup sizes to be sewn in because I couldn't decide which ones felt/looked best, to hand-cutting the lace overlay while I was wearing the dress to ensure it was the perfect length for me (I am 4'11), and creating a perfect, "real" bussle for my 2-layer dress - a huge improvement from the pin-it-under-with-one-button thing david's wanted to do. She also created a beautiful hand-made veil (also measured & cut to size) for me that went perfectly with my dress!
I can't recommend Judy enough - she is professional, talented, detail-oriented, and clearly passionate about her work. Judy is honest with her pricing and does a fantastic job - definately money well spent! I was vey happy with the overall experience and will be returning to the Bridal Secret to have my dress cleaned & presereved.

Oh where do I begin? :) Let me just say that Judy (the owner) knows her customers and business extremely well! Believe it or not, she picked out THE dress for me just based on my quick 5 minute phone conversation with her. Before we hung up, she told me that she had the perfect dress for me. I, of course, didn't quite believe it at first, but on the day of my appointment and after trying on the 5 dresses I picked out, she brought out the dress she had saved for me and it was PERFECT! She definitely saved the best for last! She went above and beyond for me and I am still very touched by her kindness and superb level of customer service. I had some last minute changes to my wedding plans and was getting married 3 months earlier than what I had told her previously. With just less than 2 months to go, she quickly squeezed me in for my fittings and I could not be happier with how my dress turned out. She did an awesome job picking out the dress for me and altering it to make the dress mine. I am truly grateful that I found Judy and The Bridal Secret and will recommend her to anyone without any hesitation! Come in with an open mind and you may walk out with THE dress of your dreams! Thank you SOOOO much again, Judy! I wish you the best!

I can't not say enough great things about Judy and her store. I tried on a 100 dresses and went to about 10 diffferent stores before going to hers. Out of all the stores, hers was the one......and her service and advice is incredible!!!! I loved everything, the service, the gown, the veil (handmade), the pin I bought for my hair, the prices.....everything!!!!

Judy (the owner) and her staff Donna and Jill provided me with one on one individualized attention tailored not only to the style of gown that I wanted, but also ensuring that I remained within my pre stated budget. Bridal Secret was the second bridal shop that I had shopped in. There was a wide range of selections which in turn limited the gown shopping process to a matter of a few weeks, rather than the typical prolonged, stressful shopping trips that most brides experience. It was evident that Judy and her staff are not only dedicated to the business, but also to their clients. While the process was seamless from start to finish, there was a minor mishap with the dry cleaning and given that I live in CT, Judy promptly addressed the issue and even went to the extent of driving the gown personally to me in CT. My wedding was a great success and my husband family and friends are still raving at how gorgeous I looked! Thank you to Bridal Secret for helping me achieve the look that I wanted for my special day!!

This place is great if you are a no-frills bride who is looking for some honest support and reliability. It's great to be able to try dresses on in your size and then see them put it in a bag for you and into storage! They also do alterations and will store your dress leading up to the wedding.
They have a great selection that is constantly changing and the prices can't be beat!

Judy at the Bridal Secret was fabulous to work with. I could not have been more pleased by her enthusiasm, knowledge, and incredible values in her store. She took care of all of the alterations herself and an amazing job. I would recommend the Bridal Secret to any engaged girl who wants to look unique and beautiful on her wedding day!

Judy from the bridal secret made searching for a wedding dress so much fun! Her knowledge and experience is very apparent and she does amazing alterations. She was very friendly, funny, helpful and willing to do whatever she could to make my dress exactly how I wanted it. She doesn?t sugar coat anything to just make the sell, she will give you her honest opinion which I think is so valuable. I would highly recommend starting at the bridal secret when you are ready to begin shopping.

Meeting the owner Judy of The Bridal Secret was one of the best things that could have happened to me while planning my wedding. I had only six weeks to plan everything, so I was just going to grab a quick, simple gown off of a rack somewhere. So many people referred me to Judy that I just had to see what she had. After I explained that we only had 6 weeks and my husband planned on wearing just a navy suit, she convinced me that I shouldn't sell my self short based only on a time restraint. After being in her shop with her assistant Jill for only a half hour, I was standing in the most beautiful and stunning gown I could have ever imagined...and I didn't even pick it out! Judy's assistant Jill picked it out for me based on my figure. I probably would have overlooked it, but Jill and Judy new EXACTLY what would look good on my shape. After 1 minute I was sold. I left the shop that day feeling more than thrilled and I can honestly say that my experience at The Bridal Secret made the way I felt on my wedding day that much more special.

While I didn't purchase my gown from Judy, I would never hesitate to recommend her incredible selection of gowns to anyone. This review is to praise her for her alterations work and priceless knowledge of the industry. I have been going to Judy for alterations of multiple bridesmaid dresses since I moved to Boston back in 2004, and will continue to send her business and give her mine whenever the opportunity arises. Not only is she a magician with hemming, tapering and bustles, but she has a true passion and emotional involvement with each of her brides. I've joked that she needs to start a blog with all the knowledge and advice she has. One gem she shared with me was to throw my slip dress (not poofy) into my honeymoon luggage and wear it while walking on the beach. My husband and I had so much fun goofing off on the beach, and got some very fun candids taken by passers-by, eager to talk to us and admire my dress. She helped me choose the right jewelry and hair accessories and created a beautiful veil which met my expectations (even though she didn't have a pre-made one in stock, she listened to what I wanted and made it from scratch). All of this for an extremely good price and at just the right deadlines (even helped me pack my dress into my suitcase for my TN wedding). I highly recommend her!
