I am a bridesmaid in a wedding and we ordered our dresses from here. The girl helping us when we were trying on bridesmaid dresses was not helpful at all and tried to rush us out the door. My measurements put me between 2 sizes and she encouraged me to order a dress that was a size smaller than I am. She wouldn't assist me in making an informed decision on the right fitting dress, and just said that I can always get it altered (for a fee which they conveniently leave out).
Now I have the dress and called to bring it in to be steamed for the wedding. I was told that getting it steamed was free, now they are telling me that it costs over $30 for a short dress and over $50 for a long dress.
There is not customer service one they have your money. If they know that they can get your money they will put no effort in and are extremely disrespectful to customers.
I had the best experience here thanks to Chantel!! I had found two dresses that I loved already and had tried one on by Maggie Sottero but still needed to find the other one (Alfred Angelo) just to be sure. I emailed The Bridal Centre and they said they had it in stock but didn't have the Maggie Sottero as someone had bought it off the rack so I casually made an appointment to try on the other one. I booked an appointment on a Wednesday (which is nice and quiet middle of the week) and Chantel greeted me at the door and took me upstairs to the Princess Room. I showed her some pictures and she went to pull some dresses. The first one I tried on was the Alfred Angelo I had came for and I really liked it so as I stood there trying to debate between two dresses (one of which they didn't have in the store), then Chantel pulls a dress and says she thinks it's the perfect combination of the two dresses I'm in love with. EEK!!!! I found my dress--Chantel was totally right!!! I tried it on and couldn't even remember what the other dresses looked like! But just to be sure she pulled a few more dresses (even though we went over my appointment). I put MY dress back on and was able to take some pictures so I could show my mom who lives in Ontario. Seeing as I was alone for this appointment and 'said yes to the dress' unexpectedly I wanted to be sure so I made a follow up appointment and brought along my future mother and sister in law. Another great experience and Chantel was very helpful! She took my measurements and then tried on another gown just to be sure we were ordering the correct sizing.
I couldn't be more pleased in my experience and hope Chantel gets the recognition she deserves!!
I went and tried on so many wedding dresses it makes me dizzy just thinking about it. Then, out of the blue, my found the bridal centre, we booked an appointment and I found my entire wedding ensemble here and bridesmaids dresses. We've popped in a few times and the lovely ladies here have always been flexible and found a way to help out and take me upstairs or help with bridesmaids. I've always had a positive experience here and am so glad I found my dream dress here. I cannot wait to walk down the aisle in the beautiful wedding shoes, veil and dress from the bridal centre.
I cannot believe the actions of this salon. I order my dress and paid what needed to be paid and had no problems till....... my dress came in I went with my group to try it on and added my accessories a necklace bracelet earrings and a flower for my hair ( to the tune of $576.30 that does not include the GST) added to my bill the things were put in a bag with my dress to be pick-up in the following week. The following week I found out that I had cancer called to let them know what was going on keeping them in the loop there was a balance owning on the dress which I was told needed to be paid i did this over a period of time always keeping them informed of my situation when i felt strong enough to deal with everthing i went to pick up my dress (yes it was there for a long time but paid for) when i went and pick it up 3 weeks ago my bag of accessories was not with my dress I waited for a manager who was dealing with another bride that was not happy with her bill ad the way she was treated. i was told to give them a copy of bill and leave it with them and they would call me when they found it that sometimes things get missed placed. I left call on the Monday and was told they were still looking and a manager would call me back I'm sure you can guess what happened when I called again I was told that sorry it is our store policy to send the accessories home with the bride and too bad your luck but because the dress had been ordered and not pick-up by the wedding date they were not responsible for it to read the back of my bill...I paid for this and not just a bit but $600.00 how is it possable that they can get away with that kind of BS they would not let me pick -up my dress until it was paid for That included my accessories that had not been paid for when I left the store back when my order came in so why would they let me leave with it but it was all paid for when i went to get my dress. How can they get away with this all I wanted was what i paid for. 'Im so mad
I came into the bridal centre looking for a dress for my wedding which was four months away. The consultant was very helpful in showing me dresses that working really well with my body, budget, and timeline. The overall experience at the Bridal Centre for both me and my family was very different from other bridal boutiques in Calgary. Dress shopping can be long a tiring but they took the time to make me feel really special and the experience enjoyable for my group. The $50 VIP experience was really worth it - they allot two hours of time with you and take the $50 off your dress purchase, give you a discount on bridesmaid dresses, and they even stopped by with water for each of us half way through the appointment.
I had a great shopping experience and chose to get my alterations done there. I had a very detailed beaded dress with layers and was nervous. The boob pillows were not good and they did not alter the dress to fit. The lady kept saying it was fine but it was too big in the hip area. I ended up taking my dress somewhere else and she said it was taken out in the hips when it should have been taken in and she redid the bra cups, took it in at the back and redid the bustle. That is a lot of work for a dress that was already altered! I would buy your dress there but do alterations elsewhere!
I wanted to review them well but when I think about it the only thing I was really happy with was my dress -They have a good selection but I think they know people will just come there and they don't put in the effort they should.
I had good service from the original girl who helped me but it was pretty much downhill from there. I ordered my dress too big, a size 14 knowing I would probably have to get it taken in a bit, It came in with a panel in the back (to cover your skin under the lace ups) that was a size 4. Needless to say the girls had to really squish me in the dress to make it so you couldn't see my skin, it pushed up my back and sides horribly and created a really bad "hang over" of skin. I saw 2 different girls and they both told me thats just how it was. I had to get other alterations done so I figured ok, I'll see how this goes. After being told alterations are around $200 I was floored when mine were almost $700! They told me standard hemming for my type of dress (lots of layers) was $330. SO WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO AT FIRST?? Plus a bustle ($85) and some taking in (which I knew I would need). I'm not upset that it was $700, I'm upset at how misleading they were in how much the alterations would probably be. Also it took my $1700 dress to almost $2500, so make sure you actually have this in your budget. After the alterations were done I was still unhappy with the back panel. I went back in and saw a new lady and ended up breaking down about how I felt crappy in my dress. I didn't buy a dress too big to look like I was getting squished out of it. Maybe it was the tears but she was like you're right this isn't right I'll see what I can do. This was when we found out the panel was a size 4. They did fix it that day but replaced it with a size 10 panel - still not the one my dress should have come with.
This was 3 days before my wedding. It obviously ended up working out but it took me 3 times to get anything done about it.
Horrible! I had an out of town wedding. My guys went in to get fitted and were told not to come back everything would be fine. I get to my wedding, one suit had a hem 3 inches too short, the other leg was not even hemmed and his shirt WAY to small. I tried to express my concerns with the manager and the blame was put on me. She wouldn't even let me speak and kept talking over me. Very rude and not helpful. I told her what the staff said to me and was told they would never say that. Thankfully there are other choices in this city. I will NEVER go here again.
I did not purchase my dress here, but i did make a bridal appointment, and paid the $50 for a larger entourage, 2 hrs consultation, and the option to take pictures of the dresses.
This place was a huge disappointment, especially the consultant. I told her that i was looking for lace dresses, but i would keep my options open if she thought i might like something. The first dress she brought was all chiffon...i thought, 'hmmm, i said lace right?' I realize i said i was open, but the first dress????? Almost every dress she brought was a disappointment. My family started picking dresses and they did a much better job than the consultant. When we left, i knew i wasn't coming back.
I also found the dresses way over priced compared to other stores.
I bought my beautiful Maggie Sottero imperial dress, bought my bridesmaid dresses (Dessy) and rented all my tuxes from the bridal store. It was a lifetime experience. The girls that work there are wonderful and very accommodating up to a point. From my MOH showing up late to her dress fitting, to having the boys show up at all different times to get fitted and then having a large party all show up on one of there busiest times and me letting them know that their was one thing out of place after another, they handled everything very professionally. My dress was absolutely gorgeous although it was very wrinkly when I pulled it out at the venue to get dressed, my bustle buttons (4) all fell out and that was a little inconvenient for the price you pay to have the alterations done.
I was very pleased with the overall experience. They helped me find my dream dress and yes you do know when you put on that dress and it is your dress. Thank you to the team at the Bridal Centre, much appreciated.
I bought my wedding dress from the Bridal Centre. I had set up an appointment well in advance and they were able to accommodate the specific date and time that I wanted to come in which was wonderful. My mom was in from out of town for the weekend and it was important that she was able to be there. I booked a 2 hour appointment and I believe ended up going over by about 30 minutes which they were really great about. I didn’t feel rushed to leave or like we were putting them out. My sales girl did have another appointment she had to go to so we finished things up with the assistant who was lovely as well.
I think I tried on probably 10-15 dresses because I really wasnt sure what I was looking for, I had some rough ideas which they worked with. They brought me examples of each plus other things that they thought would be possibilities and behold I went with something I wouldn’t have expected and love way more than any of the dresses I thought I would want. She did a really good job of pulling things that were flattering for my shape and were within my outlined budget.
I ordered a dress from them in August with the expectation that it would arrive likely in February. I got my email that my dress had arrived in early November which was also a nice surprise. When I called to pick it up I was encouraged to make an appointment to come in and inspect the dress and try it on and make sure it was perfect and meet the seamstress for the alterations. When I said that I wasn’t planning on having my alterations done there she immediately changed her tune to you can come pick it up whenever you want. There was now no appointment, no exciting try on, no assisted inspection, just come get it out of our way.
I was disappointed in the shift in service at that point however everything else was handled very well and I was really happy with the service, selection, price range and how quickly my dress arrived.
The bridal centre has a nice selection of wedding dresses. I got my dress about 5 months before the wedding which was a little bit of a short notice but I was able to get the dress on time. The alteration was very expensive and I had to have redone. I was not informed when my dress arrived I had to call them myself. They insisted that they sent me an email which I never got. I also got the bridesmaids dress and groomsmen a tuxes from them.
The prices were really expensive and they were in U.S. Rate which made it even more expensive but the quality was good.
I think the service is hit or miss. I had a good experience with them.
I had Deb helping me find my wedding dress and she did amazing! She knows exactly what she is doing. She helped me find the perfect dress(which I didn't want to try on but she made me but I ended up LOVING it ). Once it came to finding my veil and my head piece she found the perfect pieces, she just knows what she's doing and has such a good eye for putting these things together. She did an amazing job helping me and helped me find my dream dress! Bridal Centre is a great place to go to find your dream wedding gown!
I believe I need to share my experience with hopes I will save a Bride-to-be from dealing with this company. My initial experience was actually pleasant. My bridal consultant was helpful and I found the dress of my dreams. Then it was all downhill.
When trying to order a proper size my bridal consultant seemed to have little knowledge on the sizing chart. The sample gown fit pretty perfect. I was told the gown was not the size 4 label and was "actually measuring like a 6-8" She reccomended a get a size 8. I pleaded for her to order the 6. The dress came in and was very excited to try it on. I stepped into the gown and I was SWIMMING in it. I voiced my concern and even got my original bridal consultant to see what it looked like. She told me there was discrepancy in the sizes and this dress was measuring like an 8-10. They did not offer to reorder the dress. They suggested I pay to have it altered. It would have needed extensive alterations. (Oh right more $ in their pockets) and still would not have looked as it was meant to. After stopping in the store to have my issue resolved, I was told no manager was in and that I would receive a call from the manager the next day. Days went by with no call. Finally I was able to get ahold of them. The receptionist was very rude. Honestly I could not believe the way I was treated. She would not let me speak to the real manager. She called me a liar and in the end, hung up on me. I went into the store and was unimpressed to find the manager was equally as rude. I was calm and collected and went in to resolve the issue as a customer whose expectations and needs were not being met and was treated like garbage. All she kept saying was that I had signed a contract so too bad. As someone in the customer service industry I find this appalling. I highly suggest you save yourself the hassle and disappointment. The dress shopping/ordering experience is suppose to uplift you and make you excited not upset and stressed out.
Great staff and quick alterations turn around. Beautiful dress selections!!!
I had a great experience trying on dresses at The Bridal Centre. My consultant Brittany was great; she was very nice and showed me a variety of dresses that were exactly what I had in mind. I ended up purchasing one of these dresses and it was absolutely beautiful. The alterations are of course expensive, but they do take a lot of work. However, when I returned after my first fitting, the dress was still not fitting the way I wanted at all, but after a second fitting, it was a great fit. The only other thing was that the dress came with some pieces of material hanging off that I was told would be removed but I had to point out a number that were still remaining at my final fitting, so keep an eye out for that. Also, after putting on my dress on my wedding day, on the way to the church my bridesmaids realized that the store had left 2 safety pins (where the bustle was supposed to go) in my dress. I think they should have warned me that these were still on the dress as I almost walked down the aisle with them still in! In the end, I was very happy with my dress choice from the Bridal Centre.
