BEST CAKE EVER. Oh man...couldn't have been better. We were so thrilled, I tried 18 bakeries across DFW, and this was the winner. My husband has been a self-professed "cake hater" since we met 10 years ago, but now he is requesting leftovers. And even a month after the wedding, our frozen (and carefully thawed) cake is still AMAZING.

We had alternating layers of triple lemon (lemon cake, lemon curd filling) and lemon raspberry (lemon cake, raspberry filling...unbelievable...crushed up fresh raspberries...), all iced in smooth lemon buttercream and decorated with a custom Mr. & Mrs. mirror-finish acrylic cake topper and dark purple sugar anemonies hand-made by Catherine and her team. She did such an amazing job icing the cake, it was as smooth and flawless as fondant. Even if it is out of your price range, GO TRY THIS CAKE. You will be in love from the first bite...everything tastes homemade and real, which is hard to find these days.

Cathryn is a great person to talk to and our cake tasting experience was out of this world. Unfortunately, when it came time to the actual cake delivery, my wife and I were left with the incorrect order and a design which was subpar compared to her showcase. When it came time to cake time, we had no idea which layer was the dummy layer (an additional cost), so we had to guess DURING the cake cutting. Not only that, we were promised a "natural" cake which HAD to be eaten. When we took a bite of the cake, it was dry, had the wrong icing(supposed to be buttercream), and definitely tasted like something from a grocery store. Our wedding cake was the worst purchase for over a grand I had ever made. We have had no contact with Cathryn after the delivery and are left with a VERY sour taste in our mouths. My suggestion is if you want cake that tastes like the grocery store, then go to the grocery store and buy something that will at least be way cheaper.

Both our Bride's cake and Groom's cake were of excellent quality. They even matched the color scheme I requested with the sugar flowers. They followed my design for the Bride's cake just as I wanted & even managed to give a somewhat golden shimmer to the pink fondant ribbon I had at the base of the Bride's cake. Everyone loved the cakes. The only area of improvement I would suggest is to have a more professional wedding cake consultant who: 1) dresses better for consultations, 2) focuses upon the engaged couple more (she chatted incessantly with the Bride's sister), 3) is not abrupt and condescending when answering questions, and 4) gets her facts straight because she told me that a layer of buttercream could not be added beneath the fondant when in fact it could and was. She has since left which is good for Sublime Bakery. Everyone else was fine, friendly, and accommodating. Overall the responsiveness was very good. I just wish that they had left the 2 cake boxes for me as requested for the tops of the cakes. I will use them again for my anniversary party. For taste and quality, you cannot top them. If you are looking for a bargain or cheap cake, though, go to a supermarket bakery. Sublime Bakery uses only the best ingredients.

Best cake ever.....My guest really enjoyed the vanilla brown sugar cake with fresh strawberries....and the sugar free chocolate cake was awesome....

Although Catherine was very responsive and helpful, we negotiated our entire contract via email, her staff was relatively unhelpful and I felt like because I needed a cake to feed 40 I was not a valued customer. There was not a tasting of my cake choices available when I arrived, and I felt the coordinator dismissed me. Further, the cake was not exactly what I ordered - it was close, but it was missing important elements. I chose a combination of the whimsical cake and a polka dot pattern. Unfortunately, the polka dots and daisies did not vary in color (as shown in pictures), so it was not as fun as the pictures and somewhat boring. I had told the coordinator (and emailed Catherine) I was expecting varying hues of color. Also, Sublime's delivery charge was expensive. My sister in law had to pick up my cake and they forgot to give her my cake topper - she had to drive back, luckily I had mentioned it or I wouldn't have had the cake topper at all. And then my cake topper was one you set on top (in frosting), unfortunately, Sublime didn't provide any frosting, or set the topper on the cake, so it was shoved into the cake... But taste, taste was great. I paid $16 for 4 cupcakes to taste, and was provided 3 kinds (the coordinator wanted to give me 2 kinds, but Catherine was nice to ensure all my considerations were included). The taste of the cake was wonderful. So although I really liked Catherine, and I love her designs, my cake did not appear to be a priority, which was unfortunate.

I would HIGHLY recommend Sublime Bakery for any of your "sweet" needs. Not only was my wedding cake beautifully and artistically made by Catherine, but she was amazing to work with. The entire staff is very friendly and puts you first - whatever you want or need they will do! I have already recommened Sublime Bakery to everyone I know - give this place your business!!

Wile I did completely love my cakes in the end, I felt as though I was not actually valued as a customer. Every time I came into the location Catherine did not acknowledge me wile she was responsive on emails she was not in person and it made me feel weird and unwanted. This is my reason for giving two stars on professionalism, and only three and half on responsiveness. I do believe there was a little miscommunication with the flavor of the cakes. I thought that in the tester box the strawberry cupcake that we were provided to taste would be the flavor of the grooms cake. It was not but it was still very good, I just thought it was going to be something different. Perhaps that was my fault for not making sure what the flavor was going to be. In the creative process of the cake commissioning I did feel restricted as I was only given pictures to choose from instead of some one helping me with the design of the cake. This was for the grooms cake because I brought in a picture of the Brides cake. When I did chose from the pictures I said I would bring in the topper for the cake. When I did bring it in I was told it was not going to work but no ideas or help was given to me in finding an alternative. This did make me feel stranded and stressed out as the wedding was in roughly a week. Plus wile trying to figure out if I was even on the right path with the correct color scheme for the topper and the bakery manager was struggling to tell me what color it was. Catherine was standing right there the whole time and still offered no assistance or even acknowledgement that I was there trying to figure out the final details, she was standing two feet away from me and never made eye contact. I just find that strange and unhelpful when we were down to the wire. This in combination with my over all experience is why quality of service I scored two and half stars and only three stars for flexibility.

I did have to call around to find out to see if it was in fact industry standard to charge to complete amount of the cake in full before delivery. Half of the payment was due six months in advance which also was shocking, because in every other industry it is considered unwise to give payment in advance for various reasons. They might not complete the job, or do it wrong, or they could even go out of business. There are so many reasons as to why you do not pay someone in advance. Especially for a perishable item like cake. However I did find out as I called around that this is something with wedding cakes that is being done at many other Bakery's. I don't agree with it because as a customer you have no insurance in doing pre payment but it is what it is (industry standard).

In the end I was happy with my cakes thank you to sublime bakery for getting them there and making them beautiful.

Planning a wedding in such a short time, my now husband and I managed to come across Sublime Bakery 3mos before the big day. Til today we are so happy that we did! Catherine the head chef was right on point when it came to our wedding cake vision. Sublime really did indeed complete our wedding day, and we are so happy that they were a part of such an important milestone in our lives. From our consultation to a thank you card in choosing their services, to the big day...we could not have gone with anyone else better...we had the best! We will be working with Sublime for all our special occasion needs.

She did a beautiful job - very talented! Cakes were delicious, too.
