Laura was so fantastic! She had us come to her home in a very relaxed setting and we had an awesome cake tasting! We decided on cupcakes and couldn't decide on just one so she recommended 4! She envisioned exactly what we wanted and I was so happy when we saw our cupcake tower at our wedding.
The cupcakes were an absolute hit everyone loved them! They were so fresh and everyone was commenting on how amazing the reception room smelled because of the fall flavors we were using.
I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for delicious cake for an amazing value!

Earlier we had met with another bakery right in Lake George. They basically said that we didn't really need to tell them what we wanted until a couple weeks before the wedding and that they would take care of everything. It sounded like they make good cakes but didn't have the time to discuss the details.

However, when we met with Laura, she impressed us with the detailed questions she asked us and her enthusiasm about making our cake for us. She also had two whole cakes for us to sample in flavors that we had requested. I showed her a picture of what we wanted and she delievered!

Laura is such a nice, friendly person and was great to work with! She tries to adjust everything to your budget. Everyone commented on how beautiful our cake was.

(I only had a bite at the wedding, so I can't really comment on the taste because I don't remember.)

Allow me to say from the beginning that when you're considering vendors and you're working on a slim budget, you have to accept you will get what you pay for and expect it. The value for our cost with Stomach Cakes was very good. Laura provided very tasty cake at significantly lower prices than other vendors. We had several guests comment that the cake was delicious -- so that's a very positive thing to take from our experience.

However, we found Stomach Cakes very difficult to work with. If you're most comfortable working with professional vendors, steer clear of Stomach Cakes. The tone of the conversation and the content of the conversation was clearly unprofessional.

Also, we had a very specific cake in mind. In fact, we even provided a picture so there was no doubt about what we wanted. What we received looked like a poop cake. We were supposed to have dark, dark chocolate-brown colored frosting, yet we ended up with a normal "poopy" looking color brown. It was extremely disappointing. We also provided specific decoration for the cake. Most of it was used, but the baker added her own decorations that significantly altered the look of the cake.

All in all, I would recommend Stomach Cakes for those who are working on a tight budget and have a simple cake in mind. The cake tasted great and our guests enjoyed the flavor and were pleased. In the end, our struggles with the baker are exactly that -- between the baker and us. Our guests were pleased and that should be considered.

Our wedding cake was absolutely beautiful and extremely affordable. Laura did an amazing job in capturing the colors and theme of our wedding in the exterior of the cake and didn't have to use fondant to get the same look of fondant. The cake was wonderful and everybody commented on how moist the cake itself was and how the flavors were delicious. I am looking forward to getting the cake out of our freezer for our 1 year anniversary and having it again! Laura was great to work with and such a sweetheart I have already recommended her to someone that just got engaged and wouldn't recommend anybody but Laura to newly engaged couples or those who would like any baked goods for any occassion.
