Joelle Susan Maki was amazing. Both her and her assistant did anything and everything to make us feel comfortable and created timeless and one of a kind photos for us. We could not be happier. These two are worth every penny, but even more so some of the greatest friends we have made. You cannot go wrong.

Amazing and amazingly talented

Terrible Photographer.

I was very disappointed that I decided to use Joelle Susan Maki / Socialite Studios as my wedding photographer. She complained to my husband and me throughout the wedding day - minutes before the ceremony, while we were taking individual photos, during the reception, etc. I had a wedding planner, who I wish she had gone to first with any problems; instead she kept bothering and upsetting me. Her clear dislike of my wedding showed in the pictures - she gave no direction in group shots (i.e. my husband's face is hidden behind mine in the formals!), and there are no candid pictures of important people together like my in-laws or my parents who paid for the wedding. Following the wedding I didn't get my pictures until over 2 months and many emails later (contract says 1 month). When I first contacted her post-wedding she claimed she couldn't get in touch with me - none of my contact information from the past year of communication had changed, and I noticed during that time she had actually de-friended me on facebook! Needless to say I have very few pictures from the wedding that I like. She was extremely unprofessional and I would not recommend using her.

We hired Joelle at Socialite studios over one year before our wedding. She sounds so friendly on her blog, but when we met her in person we were disappointed. She was cold, completely different from her blog. However, we liked her portfolio, so we decided we wouldn't worry about her attitude...maybe it would warm up over time, right? 30 days before our wedding, Joelle emailed my fiance (now husband) and our wedding planner to say that due to "medical reasons" she was going to have to stop doing weddings for a while and was QUITTING. 30 DAYS before our wedding!!!! But, what could we do, it said in her contract she could opt out! I was a "fan" of socialite studios on facebook, and while she immediately "unfriended" myself and our wedding planner, she did not remove me from her blog. So, I found out that she not only did not QUIT doing weddings for her "recovery", she actually did one two days before our wedding!!!! And the weekend after our wedding and on and on. Joelle and Socialite Studios is now a "destination wedding" photographer....but beware, she may overbook and cancel on you at the last minute.

Thousands of images for every moment, even the ones we "missed" while being busy with the day, plus amazing portraits SO different from anything I've seen, we love them and plan to display in our new home... It is hard to pick. Joelle even sent us special surprises and gifts, she spends times with her clients like a true friend and her passion for her job is inspiring. We couldn't be happier! Thanks!

He is clearly very experienced and brings comfort and a good sense of humor to the process. He is also very creative and got some amazing photos. We recommend this photographer to anyone.I cannot say enough good things about this amazing photographer! She is so talented, she has such a kind heart, she is unobtrusive on your wedding day, yet able to get some of the most touching pictures .We are so pleased with our choice in SOCIALITE STUDIOS, and we highly recommend him for your photography needs.

I was instantly comfortable with Joelle and she takes amazing photographs. She was also very helpful in the planning process and always returned emails promptly.

Joelle is an amazing find and an amazing talent. She has an incredible eye and blew me away with the images she captured. She's a delight to be around and extremely professional. Her images speak for themselves! I go through my photos over and over again - she never missed a moment! I feel like I'm reliving my wedding day every time I look at them!
