I guess I understand why some people on this site are upset. It did take longer than we hoped to get our photos back. On the other hand, we couldn't be happier with the photos they took. Absolutely priceless. While we were initially upset with the time it took to get the photos, we now feel so grateful to have such important memories so well captured. If you're looking for "fast," these guys aren't for you. But if you want awesome photos at an incredible rate, you can't do any better.

Heidi and Jeff Silverstein are an absolute joy to work with. They did our wedding and our engagement shoot, and we had such a great time with them that we wanted to come up with other events that needed photographing just so we could hang out with them some more. We found them on Craigslist and so got a great deal as they were trying to establish themselves in our area. Their normal pricing is much more than we would be willing to spend. They are friendly and easy to work with. They got our engagement photos back to us after about three weeks.

HOWEVER, it's now been seven months since the wedding and we still haven't seen our pictures. We've emailed them five times and have been told twice that our pictures will be ready "this week." They haven't returned any of our phone calls. If we'd had our pictures back in a timely fashion, I would have rated them 5 stars across the board and recommended them to everyone I know, but because it's taking so long, and with no explanation or apology about the delay, I won't recommend them to anyone and I'll tell everyone I know not to work with them.

After five months of no contact, we filed a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau and have still received no response. The BBB closed our case after 30 days because they declined to respond to our complaint. If we still don't have our pictures at the end of the year, we plan to take them to small claims court.

We had a great time working with Heidi & Jeff.� They made it easy and fun to take our wedding photos.� They stayed late into the night to make sure we had everything we wanted.� We can't wait to see our album.� Would recommend them.

Update: Yes everything above is true. But it's their lack of customer service after the wedding that shocked us. It was like as soon as they had our money they disappeared. I waited until more than 2 months after our wedding without hearing from them before I contacted them about when we could expect our photos. They said they were working on them and they would go out that week. After not receiving our photos when promised I waited another month & contacted them again. They said sorry we let your pictures slip by us. We will get them out as soon as possible. Finally a few weeks later we receive a cd in the mail with no note or anything from them. Yes we are lucky to have finally gotten our pictures, but as part of our package we were to also get a set of prints, a photobook and our pictures to be listed on a website for family to review. Nothing. I've tried contacting them numerous times with no response. I see their website is now gone. We have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in hopes of getting some of our money back. Great photographers, fun to work with, not worth the hassle and possible chance of not receiving any photos they took.

Reading through these comments sums up the experience you'll have: it'll either be awesome or awful, seems like a matter of luck which one it'll be. So be cautious.

I picked these photographers for my own wedding after a friend recommended them; Heidi and Jeff had done their wedding. My friend had no problems with them. The pictures turned out great and they got them in a timely manner, so I was excited to work with them.

I had the opposite experience. First, we booked them for an engagement session, and the pictures turned out pretty bad; blurry, graininy, and overexposed. I emailed them my concerns, but didn't even get an apology. It also took about 2 months to get about 40 or so pictures. This should have been a red flag. Second, came our wedding day. It turns out that they hired different photographers to shoot our wedding, and didn't feel it necessary to inform us!! And it wasn't that something unexpected had happend, the photographers told us they were hired weeks before. I emailed Heidi/Jeff after and they told me that yes they hired someone else, but they'd be doing all the editing themselves. Again no apologies and complete lack of customer service. The editing took over 4 months. I emailed them several times, always being told the pictures 'are coming along nicely.' When they finally did send me the CD, it only had half the pictures. I had to email them several times again to get the rest, which took another month or two.

Though they are priced well, it's totally not worth it. You'll have these pictures forever, so shell out the extra money to get someone trustworthy and reliable.

Jeff and Heidi were great to work with. I met with them ahead of time and told them the type of photography I love, the photojournalistic type (unposed, catching people in their greatest moments), and that is totally what they did during our engagement photo session and our wedding. They really listen to what YOU want. They are very laid back and let you have fun at your wedding while they take photos in the background. I really enjoyed working with Jeff and Heidi because they're a great team. It's awesome having two photographers so that when the girls are getting ready, they don't have to worry about a guy coming in, or vise versa. They were fun, easy, and well priced for the quality of their photography!

I was so happy with Jeff and Heidi and I recommend them to my friends and family any chance I get. They paid so much attention to little details and they were so easy going and willing to do anything that we asked of them. Our pictures turned out beautifully. They captured all of our perfect moments. If you're looking for quality photos, I would recommend Jeff and Heidi in a heart beat!

Jeff and Heidi were extremely friendly and accommodating before the wedding and the day of. However, after the wedding it was almost as if they disappeared. I never once received contact from them without contacting them first and it took almost 6 months after the wedding to even see a single photo of our wedding and this was after me contacting them at least 5 different times to see what was taking so long. That is extremely unacceptable and I never received a good explanation as to why they took so long. Nor did I receive an apology.
I also never received the on-line photo gallery that was part of my package until 2 weeks before my 1st anniversary. Most people I know received their on-line gallery within the first couple weeks after their wedding. Nearly a year is unacceptable and by the time I got it, I didn't really need an on-line galelry anymore.
It also took them about 10 months to send me the 4x6 proof prints.
I reciedved my photo album 14 months after my wedding and 3 months after the date they GUARANTEED it would be done.
Through out this whole process, they have given very little explanation or communication. When my dad tried to contact them about the pictures by phone, they e-mailed him back instead of calling him back and did the same to me when I called them as well. It was extrememly unprofessional and non-confrontational.
I have been extremely frustrated with the service (or lack there of) I have received from Silverstein Images and I must say that while they are nice and kind people, I would not recommend them to do your wedding. The hassle of trying to get everything you paid for is not worth hiring them.

Horrible to work with. It's been more than 2 years since our wedding and we still have not received our wedding album. Jeff and Heidi were so nice BEFORE the event, then after they cashed our check, they fell off the face of the earth. They don't return phone calls or emails. Hire at your own risk.

Jeff and Heidi were outstanding. They were so easy to work with, and very accomadating. They put a crazed bride at ease. I appreicate all that they did.

Jeff and Heidi were awesome. To do our engagement photos, they met us in downtown Portland, asked about our relationship to get an idea of the mood that would reflect us as a couple in portraits, and followed us around while we cooed at each other :] They were also really great about putting us in some original poses (I was very anti- the traditional engagement photo pose - and they worked with that). Also, it's neat to have all your photos on a website so that you can have out-of-town friends and family see and order them, too.

Without hesitation, I would recommend Silverstein Images! The photos they took of us and our family on our special day are absolutely priceless! Jeff & Heidi are so easy to get along with,and their eye for detail is the best I've ever seen!
