My husband and I decided we didn't want to have a traditional dinner for our reception but have hors d'oeuvres and buffets to keep the evening moving and more informal and fun. Michelle at Sammy's and the entire staff went above and beyond to help us create a menu that our guests are still raving about! The food was incredible and the catering staff was beyond professional. Any request was indulged even when my little cousins asked for ketchup which they had to go across town to their other location to get it. My ailing aunt was feeling cold and somehow the catering manager found a blanket to make sure she was as comfortable as possible! I cannot say enough about how beautiful and special our reception was for us and our guests. None of that would have been possible without Sammy's. I highly recommend their services and venues for any event!

The venue is beautiful, and was perfectly suited for my wedding of approx. 140 guests. The staff was constantly available to answer questions and were truly willing to go above and beyond to make the day great. Staff members took on much more responsibility than I anticipated (in a good way!) and acted as more of a wedding coordinator than just a venue provider. The food was also FANTASTIC - and they made sure to pack up extra for us to take home. I am SO happy I choose to go with Sammy's Manakiki!

We had our wedding at Manakiki Country Club. It was amazing. Perfect venue for a summer day. Wedding was outside and reception in a tented area. It was a pleasure working with Sammy's... esp. day of. They were there at every moment, making sure the day/evening went down without a hitch. The food was AMAZING. I still get compliments to this day. It was a beautiful day and Sammy's helped create our dream wedding!

Wow. Sammy's offers some of the best catered food in Northeast Ohio, hands down! The food that we had at our wedding on 6/17/11 was just spectacular! The service was great and almost everyone on the staff went out of their way to make us happy. Definitely order the grilled salmon at your event, it's sublime :)

My parents, husband, and I attended one of their tastings and were impressed by their experience, professionalism, and quality of food. Celebrations was incredibly easy to work with and helped guide my parents and I in making decisions to meet our needs and budget for the reception.They are so great to work with and extremely organized and detailed and thorough.I had attempted to work with other caterers initally and did not find any of them very responsive. I felt that I had to work so hard and guide them through the process and initiate all of the communications. I am so glad that I switched to Celebrations! They made the whole planning process so easy!

Sammy's did a fantastic job at our reception. People are still raving about the food. My only disappoint with this vendor was during the planning process. Our initial reception coordinator left the company. The new reception coordinator was great; however, she did not have any of the information/planning requirements that we had made with the first coordinator. Three weeks before the wedding, I received a event agreement which was completely wrong. Thankfully, I had all of my past notes.

Sammy's is not inexpensive; however, there food and quality is superb. We had a sit down dinner for approximately 100 people. The event was flawless and I would use this vendor again! Many guests have told me that the our wedding food is by far the best they have ever tasted. Also Sammy's did a great job at organizing the entire event from the cocktail hour, through the cake cutting/toasts, served dinner and finally the dancing.

decided to use manakiki country club in willoughby hills for our reception site. we had heard some good stuff about the place and food was catered from sammys.the place is like an old georgia syle mansion, its gorgeous....unfortunately for the price of each person the service was LESS THAN GORGEOUS.

we had 120 people at our reception...$80 a person with meal plan we chose we had open bar. bartender and booze awesome. the coordinator cathy was wonderful. she has a helper who's name is jimmy. he is a charming guy and SEEMS as though he has it all under control and is more than ready to help make your day easier---the problem was that things could not have gone worse.
jimmy said i could leave all of the things with him that i had planned for the reception. i had 50 pairs of flip flops in a basket for all to wear through the night.coloring placemats with crayons that i bought. a vinyl "just married" sticker for the dance floor.a lifesize photo that i made into a funny prop and apent alot of money on and pictures that i wanted scattered throughout in the frames that i bought. plantable favors for each seat.

what went wrong?
1)the crayons and childrens placemats were never put out. and i never got them returned to me.
2)the just married vinyl sticker was placed on a mirror crooked.
3)the life size photo was propped up against the back wall and not put out like asked.
4)the frames with the pictures looked as though they were dropped because some were cracked and broken but still put out.
5)the plantable favors were not placed at each seat,they were stuffed into the bread basket when dinner was served.
6)the guest book was never put our for people to sign-we were given it at the end of the night with a "im sorry"

the good?
the flip flop baskets and the bathroom toiletry baskets were put out
the food was stellar. ive never had food that tasted so good......

HOWEVER THEY RAN OUT OF FOOD FOR OUR GUESTS... AND HAD TO TAKE SOME FROM THE WEDDING PARTY THAT WAS BELOW US.--we paid for each guest to have filet and chicken combo...but some ended up getting flank steak from party below and no chicken.
SOME OF OUR GUESTS CHILDREN DID NOT GET FOOD.THEY ATE OFF OF PARENTS PLATES YET WE PAID FOR THEM TO HAVE FOOD.
and we had 5 vegetarian meals that were to be provided, and it was also labeled on the seat---most recieved meat and it went to waste.

for the price i was dissapointed.i want to let all know that if you want certain decorations do not let them do it-you assign a wedding party member to do so that you know it is done properly.
the quantity of food?? i dont know a fool proof way to prevent them from running out of food and stealing flank steak from the wedding below when youve payed for filet mignon and chicken for each guest.....
i was so excited about this place.and to plan for a year to have such a disaster occur is very upsetting for me and not to mention the money we spent...well good luck to all who choose them.the food rocks! and cathy is very sweet!

We can't say enough about the way our entire event was handled. Food was excellent, the ceremonial grove where our wedding took place was beautiful and the Sammy's staff did everything to make our day extra special. We highly recommend them to you.

We had our ceremony and reception at Sammy's at Manakiki in Willoughby and it was beautiful. It was such a unique and intimate setting for a wedding and if I could do it over again, I would do it exactly the same way.
The staff was extrememly friendly and accomodating. Everything went smoothly. We really couldn't have asked for more. It was a great time.

My husband and I had our reception at Manakiki and Sammy's caters there. From the 1st meeting with the Sammy's rep. to the night of our reception, they were very accomodating to us. My husband and I were able to add our own little touches to the already decorated mansion (it was Xmas season) to make it more personal. The food was outstanding. People are still talking about our food! The service was incredible. The only mistake was that they served other tables before the family table. Aside from that, they made sure to accomodate people with allergies/vegeterians.

The food was delicious, the event planner was so helpful, and our coordinator, Joe, was the BEST. He attended to my every need all night and took care of even the smallest details. My only complaint is that the waiters were not as professional as I would have thought. They were a little rude, and one of my guests overheard them ridiculing people on the dance floor.

in my case they basically acted as an event captain.

They catered our wedding and the food was yummy. We was happy with them.

I had Sammy's cater my reception at the Great Lakes Brewpub. The food was very good, service was wonderful. I had trouble getting ahold of my contact person. I played many games of phone tag with her, but once we connected, she was great. I cannot express how great the service at the reception was!

They are expensive but the trade off is great food and a lot of it. We used Sammy's to cater our engagement party at the university club. The passed appetizers were not the greatest but the salad, buffet and dessert were perfect. The bar tenders were also very professional an they offered a wonderful selection.

We had quite a few allergy problems to work around and they very understanding and worked very hard to create the meal we really wanted.
