Ashley was a very fun and energetic person to work with. She was easy to get a hold of, and responded to my phone calls and emails within a reasonable time. I had done two hair trials with Ashley, and my hair trials were a blast! The day of the wedding I had a total of 8 girls (including myself) that needed hair and some girls were getting makeup done too. Ashley arrived on time with another assistant to help her. There was a lot going on, and two of my girls had really long and thick hair. To make a long story short Ashley and her assistant worked on my bridesmaids hair and left me, my mother, and my sister for last. I was very upset because I felt that my hair was rushed. I was the bride and my bridesmaids had better hair than me. Like I said earlier I had done two hair trials with Ashley and both trials took about two hrs. I do not understand how Ashley thought that she was able to do my hair and makeup in about an hr. By the end of the night my hair completely fell and my hair was straight!!! I was very disappointed with Ashley's time management, I felt like I was the bride and my hair looked like crap by the end of the night. I do not think that I got my moneys worth!

I will start by saying, that I am sorry she felt that she didn't get the attention that she needed but we were incredibly rushed, and faced with more than a few obstacles throughout the day. With every bride that I work with I ask everyone to be available at the "start time"....with a clean face and completely dry hair. When we arrived there was only "the bride" and her MOH available, and everyone else trickled in throughout the day. Also....I was NOT told that she had 1 bridesmaid that hair to her bottom, literally, and another bridesmaid with extremely thick hair who both insisted on having hair down with curls. I am only assuming that I wasn't told this because I usually charge more for extremely long, thick hair and her bridesmaids were on a very tight budget. The bride was veryyyyyy emotional for most of the day because of events that had taken place the day before the wedding as well as the day of. (someone else proposed to their girlfriend which upset the bride, understandably....and the sister of the bride had a small baby that seemed to dictate the day's tone and timeline) And I agree that I would have been upset if everyone was paying more attention to other people's engagement rather than "my wedding" or cooing over the sister of the groom's baby, and making it the only discussion of the day. The bride thanked me for trying to re-direct the conversation 3 different times since the conversation was primarily about babies. We were also given a time frame to work within because the venue only allowed us in at a particular time because there was a prior event to her wedding at the venue, which is why it was very important that everyone be there as requested. That did not happen.The trial run, is a relaxed day to see what kind of hairstyles a bride would like and to do make up and get to know each other. I have always been able to do a bride's hair and make up in 1 hour on the wedding day, especially given the fact that we knew what we were doing. I have worked with 100's of bride's and never had a bad review. Sometimes things happen that are out of my control.....and there were multiple things that happened on this day that I had zero control over. Use her, call her, book her fast! We did trail runs with 2 other makeup and hair artists before we found Ashley. She is fantastic! Not only was our hair and makeup perfect for every picture over a long 10 hour day and night but up close, we all looked stunning and not overly made up. There is a real trick to looking perfect up close and in pictures. Ashley did the bridal portrait, too. Her hair styles are pure art. If there was a category higher than a 5, we'd give it to Ashley. She is charming and vivacious and makes this so much fun. For the wedding, Ashley did mom, grandma, all of the bridesmaids and the bride. We had updos, half up and down and on the wedding day, our daughter was the most beautiful bride in the world. It was a dream come true! She works in Nashville, TN and Florida - the Sarasota area but it's worth it to pay her airfare to come to you!
My mom already posted about our great experience with Ashley, but I wanted to post to reiterate: Ashley is AMAZING!!! She is the absolute best. She did an astonishing job on all of our hair and makeup. It looked perfect, and lasted all day and all night. On top of that, she was so much fun and I had a great time with her! It was unbelievably nice to have her come to my house to do our hair and makeup. It felt so much more personal and special than getting it done in a salon. Book Ashley right now- you won't regret it!! She is hands-down the best, in every regard!

I highly recommend Ashley Vann-Kingston! For my wedding, Ashley did my, my mother’s and my three bridesmaids’ hair. I asked Ashley to put half my hair up with lots of curls and also a flower. My hair turned out exactly as I had hoped, and even though my hair is really long so curls tend to fall out easily, my hair looked beautiful throughout my outdoor ceremony and hours of dancing at the reception! My mother requested a French twist, and Ashley put her personal touch on the look to make it truly unique. The French twist stayed so well that my mother even kept her hairstyle the entire next day on the beach! My three bridesmaids told Ashley she could do whatever she wanted with their hair. Ashley gave them each a unique look that incorporated a flower in their hair, but she ensured that their hair didn’t look similar to mine. Each girl loved her hairstyle, and the hairstyles also stayed in place all night. Also, as a special treat, Ashley is very fun to talk to! She’s very affordable, and I highly recommend her!
