They have thought of everything at this venue! The wedding team seriously didn't miss a single beat the whole time. In the planning stages, they were responsive and supportive. During the day of our wedding, they made us feel so special and spoiled. We loved our polished and upscale garden wedding, and we are looking forward to returning to Roche Harbor to celebrate many anniversaries to come!

As transplants to the PNW we had a little bit of a hard time choosing a wedding venue, but knew we wanted all of our friends and family to be able to experience this amazing place we now call home. After researching so many venues, we kept coming back to Roche Harbor. In looking back on it, it was the single best decision we could have made. From the very beginning the staff were professional, accommodating, and helpful in every way. They checked in with us periodically throughout the planning process and kept us up to date on any changes with the venue (new menus, drinks, etc.). For the day of, special shout outs to Sean and Reina for helping make all of the "little" things happen...I forgot to request a table for the photobooth, we needed an extra highchair, etc. and they took care of absolutely everything without a second thought, and truly helped me relax and know everything was take care of. Our guests are still commenting about what an amazing time they had and how much they loved San Juan Island. It was truly an incredible day and I cannot thank the staff at Roche Harbor enough for making it so memorable and seamless.

We were thrilled with our decision to hold our wedding at Roche Harbor. Throughout the planning process they were responsive and friendly, both in person during several planning visits to the island and by email. Our party was on the small side (about 40), but none of the venue spaces felt too large or open. Food selections were excellent and the banquet team was willing to customize menu options for us, both to add vegetarian entree options (which were amazing) and to add late-evening deserts outside under the sunset. Their menu draws heavily from local farms and fisheries, and they worked well with the other San Juan vendors we used. And of course, the site itself is gorgeous, the perfect Pacific Northwest hideaway. Our wedding was adjacent to the 4th of July weekend, but the resort offers fantastic weekday pricing (the site fee was extremely reasonable despite the holiday). Overall, we couldn’t be happier than we are with the venue.

They were great! Such a beautiful venue and they were SO helpful on days before and the day of!

We could not have found a more magical venue for our summer wedding! Allie, Jereny, and the rest of the team were truly top notch. They made sure that not only my husband and I were taken care of, but all of our family and friends as well. We had our rehearsal dinner at Shipwreck Beach and invited all of our guests to join us for drinks and s’mores on the beach. It was such a fun experience! On the day of our wedding, Laura made sure that every little detail was not overlooked- she even made sure that we ate (the food was seriously AMAZING) and she never let my wine glass get empty! I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and our experience at RH Resort. Thank you for making our wedding the best day ever!

Getting married at Roche Harbor was truly a dream come true! My husband proposed in the gardens right where we got married, so picking it for our venue was a no brainer. I am so glad we did too! Everything was perfect from the minute we put down the deposit. Allie was a godsend since I planned our whole wedding myself. I don't think I would've made it through the planning process without her. She was always so quick to respond to my emails and went above and beyond when I ran into problems like our photographer cancelling on us. The day itself was absolutely amazing. There isn't a single thing that I would change and the day flowed so easily from getting ready to the ceremony to cocktail hour to the reception. The food was amazing as well, I mean, we had a mac and cheese bar! All of the staff were so attentive and I truly felt like a princess for a day. And on top of all of that, you just can't find a more beautiful location to get married! Perfect venue for a perfect day.

Getting married at Roche Harbor was literally like a dream. Aside from the GORGEOUS location that had everyone just in awe of our surroundings, Roche Harbor staff worked so hard the weekend of our wedding to make everything perfect and stress-free for us. Allie and Alyssa were super helpful in the months leading up to our wedding, answering questions, providing suggestions, helping our guests with reservations, etc., and during our wedding weekend, I can't say enough about how wonderful Kevin and Jessica were. Even a few of our guests made it a point to mention how amazing the RH staff were. The dinner was to die for, and again, the staff were super friendly as our guests made their way through the buffet line. It's those little details that are so appreciated. I would recommend Roche Harbor Resort to anyone looking for their once in a lifetime dream wedding. We can't wait to go back to visit any chance we get.

Roche Harbor is absolutely amazing…we debated spending the money to host our wedding here and ultimately decided there was no better place to ask our family to gather for a long weekend of celebration. The experience far exceeded our expectations and was so worth the expense. Everyone was welcoming, helpful and ready to try to make our wishes reality whatever they may be. We had some issues with lodging that were quickly remedied. We held our rehearsal at shipwreck beach, our ceremony in the sunken garden and reception in the pavilion and all was absolutely perfect. The whole planning process was so easy with the guidance and help of Alyssa and Allison, regular check in meetings were much appreciated and everything came together perfectly. We also used their spa services for hair and make up the day of and for a couples day the day after and that was all fantastic as well. If you're considering Roche, book it!

Roche Harbor Resort is an amazing venue! Everything on the Resort is well taken care of, there is no decor needed. The staff was amazing, and our family and friends received amazing service! They make sure to let the other guest on the resort know that a wedding is or will be in progress. It was like our wedding party were the only ones on the property on our wedding day! The food that Roche Harbor catered was amazing! You definitely get your money's worth. Our guest thought the food was amazing and could not believe that they actually went home full after the wedding!

If you want to get married in paradise, Roche Harbor Resort is where you will want to go!

Roche Harbor Resort did an amazing job from start to finish. We chose to have both our rehersal dinner as well as the ceremony and reception hosted here. From the beginning we were contacted frequently and if we had questions answers were provided in a timely manner. The entire resort is beautiful, but they have done a wonderful job at creating exceptional spots within the resort for these events. They ensured everything went off without a hitch. Rooms were blocked off for guests, the resort staff sets up all tables, chairs, etc, an events manager assists with everything the day prior til the finish, they work well with all other vendors (photographers, officiants, florists). They cater all foods (minus the cake/desserts) and the food is EXCEPTIONAL. My guests were raving and still are weeks later. I can't imagine a more beautiful, easy, and tasty place to have a wedding. It was perfect!

we are still currently in mid planning for our wedding. All of the event planners and coordinators that work at Roche Harbor are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. If there is any question, concern or fear I have mentioned they are quick to help find a resolution and assure me that all will be well. They provide uses of their grounds for a full 24 hrs and help coordinate everything. The price of this venue and the level of service you receive will far surpass anywhere else.

My husband and I were married here in October. We could not have picked a better spot! The grounds were gorgeous, the staff was friendly and helpful, and all of our guests had a wonderful experience! Cannot recommend it enough!

Roche Harbor was GREAT!! The food is good and they are willing to work with you on specialized requests! The setting is the real draw...you could NOT ask for a more beautiful, picturesque location for a wedding!

If you’ve ever been to Roche Harbor (or the San Juan’s in general) then you know how beautiful it is up there. The day was perfect and the Roche planning team was great. They were quick to respond to all of my questions. Everyone working at Roche was amazingly helpful and kind.
Roche also has options. You could hold your ceremony in the garden (that’s what we did) or in an adorable chapelI. The reception could be held in a field right on the water under a huge canopy, or in their pavilion (we held ours in the pavilion). They supplied a list of preferred vendors but you don’t have to pick vendors off their list.
We held our rehearsal dinner at shipwreck beach which really kicked off our wedding weekend. It was laidback and just what we wanted. There’s a huge fire pit with benches all around. We were right on the water and we’re able to get great photos of our wedding party and our family with the marina in the background, and then later with a sunset. Once the sun went down they had propane lamps to keep us warm. The bathroom was a Honey Bucket though. I highly recommend having your rehearsal dinner there.
For our ceremony in the garden we were able to stake things into the lawn and we were able to use biodegradable confetti. This was great since other venues I looked into had strict rules regarding the use of their lawn. They set up all the chairs so you don’t have to do the planning on how many rows and how many seats in a row.
Cocktail hour was right next to our ceremony and to our reception. The appetizers were served on a tray. And the cheese, fruit, and nut board was stationary. There were a few tables to stand around and umbrellas were there to supply some shade. We also had signature cocktails that were so good and so strong! You had to walk through the reception space to get to the bathrooms.
Our reception was wonderful. The venue was easy to decorate in that you can hammer in nails or whatever you need. The ceiling has wire already in place for easy ceiling fixtures. Roche harbor set up and supplied all the tables, chairs, tablecloths, plates, cutlery, and napkins. We used our own since we didn’t want white napkins and they still folded them into the style of our choice. We had access to the venue from 9am day of wedding to 9am the following day. This was enough time for our friends to help decorate and to tear down. But more time would have been great since I didn’t get to see the decorations before the wedding started. For that reason some decorations weren’t set up exactly as I envisioned but I think it still looked incredible!

Something to note is that at sunset everyday there is a colors ceremony which lasts about 15 minutes. You’re required to turn your music all the way down. It’s hard for it to go unnoticed. We had our Dj make an announcement and we all went out on the patio to watch the ceremony and the sunset. It was nice. Our veteran friends and family really appreciated this.
Also, Roche Harbor is only accessible by ferry or seaplane. This was hard to ensure all of my guests knew to make a reservation for the correct ferry. Reservation spots fill up and are almost mandatory to make the correct ferry. It’s also another expense your guests will have to make. I also had to pay for extra for to all of my vendors so they could take the ferry. Our officiant missed her ferry and ended up being 20 minutes late! But other than that, arrivals via the ferry we’re fine.
At the end of the night however 10% of our guests had to leave at 7pm and missed cake to catch the 2nd to last ferry. At 9pm, 60% of our guests left at the exact same time to catch the last ferry of the night. Which I suppose was okay since by this time everyone had eaten dinner and cake and was able to talk with us. But it did happen all at once. For this reason also, a lot of our guests planned on staying at the resort which meant a lot of people didn’t hold back on the partying!

I do have to mention the price though, it was expensive! Not really for the venue itself.
We paid $4500 for the venue. But you have to use their catering which came in at $80 for food and $60 in drinks per person. Don’t get me wrong the food and drinks were good! We just didn’t have as many options. We prepaid an estimated drink count and they said they would contact me after the wedding if we went over budget and more money was owed, or if we went under budget and a refund was due. I haven’t heard anything yet. Shipwreck Beach (the rehearsal dinner venue) was $2000 and another $2000 for food and drinks for 30 guests.

If we were to redo our wedding, I would definitely still have it at Roche Harbor.

I have been visiting Roche Harbor every summer since I was 8 and always wanted to get married here so it was an easy choice for me. Roche is such a beautiful place, you could do nothing and your wedding would still be incredibly beautiful. My only suggestion is to think about hiring a day of coordinator as we struggled a little bit with communication with the resort event coordinators on the wedding day.

Roche Harbor is a beautiful venue, however it has some limitations. I fell in love with the chapel and the scenery, and just had to get married there. There are various accommodations for everyone, however some are dated (condos) and a rustic (hotel and cottages). However, the houses, suites, and Quarryman Hall are great. The staff is very friendly, responsive and accommodating. However, there are some aspects of the planning that can not be changed. For example we wanted to being in our own wine, but this is not possible due to liquor laws. If they order, it is by the case, and you can not have what is left over. Our wedding party was less than 40 people. I did not like the venue that was in their restaurant, and wanted to have it in the Pavilion. In order, we had to pay for 40 meals. I asked for some meals to be boxed, so we could take with us, and never received these.

I had an absolutely awful experience at this venue and resort. Came here for a wedding and spent a night at the resort. The staff was caught going into people's belongings at the wedding and one waiter tried to steal a camera at our table. My family was treated absolutely awful here. The staff kept clearing away our HALF FULL drinks that WE PAID $11 per drink for! The resort itself is a disgusting pithole... There was dry rot and mold everywhere... You have to SHARE bathrooms with your entire floor, door knobs don't work, and the hotel as a whole is structurally unsafe. If you have your wedding here I can promise you that you and your guests will be treated poorly, you will be unsafe, and you will certainly not get your money's worth. Stay away from Roche Harbor resort!
