YES YES YES. Publix hit the nail on the head. The cakes turned out EXACTLY how I wanted them. They delivered the cakes right on time and set them up perfectly. The cakes tasted absolutely amazing....couldn't ask for a better cake vendor!

The Thomasville location is the only one that does the wedding cakes and will even deliver for a small price. My guests couldn't believe that I got my cake down through them. It's been about 3 weeks since we got married and I am still getting tons of great feedback and lots of guests craving for more!!!!

Publix is the way to go for those on a budget! They were professional and arrived on a timely schedule!

When I began looking for someone to do my wedding cake I became highly discouraged because of the extremely high prices of many bakeries in the area. I was planning a wedding on a budget and was worried I would not be able to find something I could afford that I also liked. A friend who used Publix for her wedding cake recommended them. I used the new Publix on Thomasville Rd. (the one with the cooking school). They have a whole event planning department so I was able to meet with one of the planners and discuss what I wanted. They were able to modify one of their existing cakes to exactly what I wanted and also did a wonderful groom's cake. The prices were very reasonable as well as the delivery charge and both cakes were delicious! They were also gorgeous! The wedding cake looked exactly like I wanted it to and I was thrilled. Publix is a fantastic option for those who are on a budge but still want a fabulous wedding cake!

I know that there are a few Publix bakeries in town, so this one is for the Publix by the Thomasville Road & Village Square Blvd. intersection.

We got a 3-tiered round, almond and raspberry flavored cake. The flavors were absolutely fantastic! We went with butter-cream because the prices for fondant were ridiculous, but all in all we loved what we got. The designs were beautiful and the decorator did a fantastic job with the scroll work on the edges.

We planned a small ceremony with family and close friends and our budget was minimal. I heard from a friend that Publix actually has decent wedding cakes that are actually edible. I decided to stop in and check out prices, details. The decorator I spoke with, Stephanie, was extremely helpful, friendly, and professional. She helped me resize the cake we wanted to fit the number of guests we had attending. She gave honest feedback that really saved us money and ended up fitting our needs PERFECTLY!! The cake actually was really delicious and we had several guests telling us that days after the event. It turned out beautifully, was perfect size, and the color fit just right too!!

They really can accommodate your requests and work with you on just about anything. I am SO glad I chose Publix and couldn't believe the deal we got, too. It was affordable, beautiful, and delicious!

When we ordered our cake we had a picture of a design that we wanted but no one could tell us if they could do it. I went ahead and ordered the cake and picked out a second choice out of their book. I never heard anything from the manager so went by there and she told me they could do the design. So basically the commercial is incorrect they can do things out of their book and that's pretty much it. I went with a square and round cake with all the layers being different flavors. We did a grooms cake for the rehearsal and I was very disappointed but when we arrived at the reception I was amazed the wedding cake was BEAUTIFUL! That had matched our color almost exactly and the cake was moist and delicious. Everything was wonderful. They even deliver! Perfect!!!!

After finding a venue, the very first thing we did was meet with the folks at Publix to order my daughter's dream wedding cake - chocolate cake with cream cheese filling and chocolate fudge frosting...we picked the 4-tier square cake...and just added colored ribbon around the base of each layer for decoration...at 3:30 in the afternoon on the day of the reception, I stopped by Publix just to make sure everything was okay. Gee, to my surprise, they only had 2 layers roughed up--and then proceeded to tell me how they weren't going to be able to do the ribbon easily--excuses, excuses!! The reception was to start a 6:00...the cake was to be delivered (less than 2 miles away) between 4 and 6...at 5:30 we became panicky...called Publix...only to have them tell us they delivered our cake to a Hampton Inn somewhere in town...we were having our reception at the Southwood House...really? Really? When the cake arrived at 5:55, we already had guests at the venue, and the cake was absolutely horrendously hideous...sloppy and uneven...I was completely embarrassed...and if it hadn't been for the quick thinking of the caterer who grabbed some flowers from one of the bouquets and hid most of the cake, I would still be steaming...oh, wait...I STILL AM!! The most ridiculous excuse for professionalism that I have ever experienced!

When we ordered our cake and the lady told us it would be delivered on 3/27/10 at 1:00 p.m. and it was. The cake was moist and delicious. Everything was wonderful. They matched our color very well on the cake too! Perfect!!!!

The wedding cake was good but not great. The only issue is that you have to pick up the cake & assemble it at your wedding venue.

The taste of the cake was great. It was a little hard to track down the bakery manager and to even get someone to talk to me about ordering a cake. It would have been nice if the manager took just 15 minutes to actually sit down with me to discuss it. She told me that I could come back about two weeks before and actually order my cake which made it seem like its no big deal but to a bride it is. I know they are a grocery store and not a bakery so I understand wedding cakes are not their top priority but their cakes are awesome and they could bring in a lot more of the wedding cake business if they tried! The look and design of the cake was great too and so reasonably priced!

I was actually originally going to have two different sized round cakes made as I had the perfect stand to use it on. I went to the Publix bakery months before the wedding and took a look at their price chart that they make available by their cake books. I did not want to get a "wedding cake"...I just wanted two plainly decorated rounds in varying sizes and we would decorate it ourselves.

Everyone at the bakery was busy with other customers so I didn't have an opportunity to ask any questions. Luckily the price chart was self-explanatory (or so I thought) and had all the varying sizes and types of cakes you could buy. It had the sizes I wanted and the price would come out to about $60 for both round cakes.

Three weeks before the wedding and we go in to see when we should place our order only to find they only sell 8" round cakes any anything bigger than that and you'd have to buy their "wedding cakes" which start at like $200! The worker just shrugged at me like "this is what it is, take it or leave it." So their little price chart that they still have by the cake books is basically useless (and I verified at three other Publix's that also had that stupid chart). Silly me for expecting Publix to have accurate information.

Well anyway it all worked out because we decided to do one 8" round from Publix and the rest as a cupcake tier (I used the Cake Shop for those). I am still surprised that Publix has these defunct price sheets there misinforming customers but I'll know not to assume next time.

Amazing wedding and groom's cake! I showed the Southwood Publix what I wanted and got exactly what I had in mind. Delivery was on time (although I hear the deliverer was not very friendly....), both cakes tasted and looked great.

We really wanted some unique wedding cakes. We decided we wanted a cake for us, which was only two tiers and then we wanted round cakes on every table. We were using the cakes as both a centerpiece and variety in cakes to eat. Everyone loved the idea. Sarah at the Southwood Publix did an awesome job. She understood what we were asking for as far as the decorations and they turned out great as centerpieces. Publix is also inexpensive compared to other vendors we looked at for the same idea.
