After seeing an article about our venue potentially closing (which it has now), we had to scramble a month before our wedding to find an alternative venue which was definitely not an easy task in NYC. Looking back at it all now, it was DEFINITELY a blessing in disguise because we came across Pier Sixty which was hands down the most perfect venue for our fairy tale wedding. I honestly didn't even consider Pier Sixty 14 months or so out before our wedding date, knowing it was completely out of our budget. In a desperate attempt to contact over 50 venues last minute, stumbling across Pier Sixty was just meant to be. It was oddly available all day on our wedding weekend and could accommodate our wedding party size. They were willing to work with our strained budget (due to the old venue) and with all our vendors already booked for the day.
Jayme and Richard were absolutely wonderful and extremely professional to work with. They totally exceeded our expectations and really turned an extremely stressful month into the most magical day I could've imagined. All of our guests raved about the food, especially the cocktail hour. Although they don't offer tastings as their catering is done by Abigail Kirsch, they were true to their word and the food was excellent! Service was top notch and the venue was absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for giving us our fairy tale wedding!!
We just had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Lighthouse in October and it was spectacular. The venue is completely amazing - you have floor to ceiling windows that overlook the Hudson River and NJ in the background. We had our wedding ceremony during dusk, which made for an amazing sunset backdrop during our ceremony. It was magical in every sense of the word.
We had an amazing experience coordinating our wedding with Abigail Kirsch/The Lighthouse staff. Our wedding was a bit complicated; as an Indian wedding there were a number of nuances involved, such as the horse procession outside before the ceremony, an elaborate setup for the ceremony, an intermediary send off on a carriage, and a lot of dietary restrictions for our guests. The staff handled every in stride and did a fabulous job. Our event manager, Richard, was fantastic and really assuaged any fears or nervousness that we had for the day. Under Richard's direction, the whole night turned out spectacular and could not have been more perfect. At the end of the night, the dance floor was still packed, so we were able to coordinate with Richard to extend our time at the venue.
Many of our guests have told us that this was the best wedding they've ever been to. Having the wedding at the Lighthouse was the best decision we ever made.
I absolutely love Current and the people who made my dream wedding a reality. First of all, our event manager, David, did everything to make sure things run smoothly and flawlessly. Kudos! We really gave our heart felt gratitude to David and my attendant. I can only imagine what they did to make sure the wedding was perfect. All of ours guests were raving about the food and the service. In fact, my boss told me that he wanted his son to get married at the Current.
I couldn't say enough good things!! We truly loved this venue and had the best evening! Great food and service!! Thanks again
What a space for a wedding! From beginning to end, the people at the Lighthouse knew what they were doing. The food was great, the organization was smooth, and the service was seamless. Paul, our event manager, was on top of everything, from the planning to being the emcee in his tux. We know this is a high-end venue, but we feel we got more than we paid for. Great food, great space, great people, great operation all around.
The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers did a wonderful job at my daughters wedding. The service and food were amazing. The wedding was really spectacular.
My husband and I had our wedding at Pier Sixty on 10/04/14. We could not be happier with this venue--it was the most magical night and everything was flawless! Our dedicated event planner, Rich, was an absolutely delight to work with. No detail went unnoticed and their staff cannot be compared to anything I've ever experienced! They were so attentive and did everything they could to make sure we had the day of our dreams! Each and every one of our guests raved about the food, atmosphere and view. I would recommend Pier Sixty to every single bride considering it!
Bob is the best! He made sure that our wedding reception was flawless, and it really was perfect. We ran into a small issue, our groom's cake got lost because it was delivered to a different location. Bob made a few calls and found it and the cake was ready to be displayed on time. Bob and Pier Sixty are also very accommodating. We had a very large paper flower installation which Bob stored for a couple of days locked away at the venue and oversaw its setup on the day of. The venue was flexible with our menu choices, as we brought in some of our own traditional foods which the chef displayed and arranged for the cocktail hour. All the guests we spoke to said our wedding was the best wedding they've ever been to and a big part of it was Bob and this beautiful venue. Every single aspect of our wedding at Pier Sixty was perfect
This Abigail Kirsch venue provided a magical laminated space in NYC that made the party feel like we were on a cruise ship. Greg and Bob were a pleasure to work with. Bob helped put together the most delicious menu and orchestrated the perfect event. He never left our side the entire evening. The service was exceptional and so appreciate and thank them for the most memorable and beautiful wedding evening.
We recently had our daughter's wedding reception at The Lighthouse. It was perfect! We couldn't be more pleased. Paul got us through without a hitch - he was amazing. Our guests continue to rave not only about the beautiful location, but the food, service and flawless evening. Many have called to say "it was the best wedding they had ever been to!" We were able to enjoy ourselves as each and every detail was taken care of by the friendly, courteous and professional staff. Thank you all for a perfect event.
I could NOT be more thrilled with this venue! Everyone loved it and David, our event manager, was amazing! I felt completely taken care of, listened to, and comforted. They really know what they are doing from the flow of the day to the food. Every last detail was taken care of. My bridal attendant was fantastic and I was never without a drink or food in my hand.Overall it was an amazing experience!
The Lighthouse is an utterly spectacular venue. The view alone is worth it, but then you add in the exceptional service and delicious food, it makes it a simply magical experience.
We were married at The Lighthouse in April, and as soon as we walked in we knew it was the venue for us. The place is absolutely gorgeous - with hardwood floors and floor to ceiling windows looking out at the water. The staff was always incredibly helpful and kind. They went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect leading up to and on the day of our wedding. Bob managed every aspect of our day, and he did not skip a beat.
I couldn't imagine having our wedding anywhere else. The ambiance and the food were extremely important to us, and they were perfect on both counts. I can't even begin to describe how breathtaking the view is. I would highly recommend The Lighthouse to anyone.
We were married on the 8th of February and had our reception at the Lighthouse. I must say: the event was truly fairytale-like. We initially worked with Ashley for dates and contracts and the like; she was a total pleasure. We were then assigned Bob as our event coordinator; he was so personable, professional, and made sure that the event went off smoothly. What the space itself will look like is totally up to you. We worked with one of their preferred floral designers, Botanical Design, and Brian and Vince brought my vision to life. We opted for the pin lights above each table to showcase our incredible arrangements and had tea lights hung from the ceilings throughout the venue; the whole effect was magical. The food was delicious- EVERYONE has raved about it since the wedding. (We thought the raw bar was a "must" and our guests agreed!) Honestly, the team as a whole went above and beyond; we were assigned Gabrielle to help us with small details throughout the day, and she assisted us with everything from the bustle on my dress to making sure we had a stocked bridal suite- and she did it all with a sweet smile. The only thing I'd change about the whole experience and the whole night would be being able to do it all over again!
Felt like a guest at our own wedding! Absolutely outstanding service. I love that they encouraged us to take 2 minutes to be alone together, appreciate the moment. Our wedding day went by so quickly and that time together was so important. It also gave us a chance to eat the delicious food! We had some special touches we wanted to include and the team at The Lighthouse incorporated them into the flow of the evening seamlessly. It was just beyond our expectations! One of our guests said he's going to encourage his daughter to have her reception there!
Abigail Kirsch manages the catering for this venue. Our guests LOVED the food, including the wedding cake. Everything was managed impeccably. We couldn't have asked for more.
We recently had our August 2013 wedding at Pier 60. We had a very large wedding of nearly 600 guests. Pier 60 and its staff were simply amazing. If you going to have a large party or wedding with a clean, modern feel, this is definitely a place to consider.
We worked with Greg while signing the contract and up until the two months before the wedding. He was responsive, professional, and eager to help.
In the last two months before the wedding, we worked with Bob as our dedicated event coordinator. Bob was professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and efficient. He was also always aware of our budget constraints. He also played an active role in coordinating details with our florist, including table cloths, floor plan setup, etc.
Given the size of the wedding, we were nervous about how hectic everything would get on the big day. On the day of the wedding, however, Bob made sure that my wife and I felt like guests at the wedding. I barely had to make a single decision. The transition from ceremony, to cocktail hour, and to dinner was seamless. Our guests all complimented us on how smoothly everything went.
For some time, my wife and I had some hesitation about choosing Pier 60. At first glance, the venue appears to be very plain and business-like. But after working with our florist, and without going outside our budget, we were able to turn the venue into something modern, classy, and wedding-like. Although pricey, I highly recommend using the pinspots on all the tables.
We were disappointed to find out that Abigail Kirsch does not offer food tastings. We chose our menu by looking at photos and with our event coordinator’s help. While this may dissuade some couples from this venue, we recommend that you trust the venue’s chef. The cocktail stations and hors' d'oeuvres were delicious. The main course (filet mignon and fish) was also very good. Even with 600 guests, the steak was served warm and cooked to perfection.
My event planner was Paul and he was always available to me, diligent, flexible and prompt. My whole wedding went very smoothly because he was so on top of things. He used my DIY pieces beautifully and set it all up on his own. He was very kind and helpful to all my guests and we received rave reviews about our party. He, as well as all the helpful staff, truly added to the joyful spirit of our wedding day.
