Melissa was GREAT!!!! She is very kind and attentive to every detail of our wedding. My husband & I LOVE LOVE LOVE our wedding video and have watched it many times... we see something new in it every time!!!! She even found a version of our song that we had never heard before & used it in the opening. That was a pretty cool surprise!!!! Melissa did a wonderful job and I would recommend her to anyone in the DE area.

Our experience with Pea Patch was a nightmare. We requested an HD video shoot. We were not told at the beginning that Melissa does not edit HD video. The videographer's work that were contracted to do our wedding was shoddy and sloppy for the most part (i.e. not including coverage of maid of honor speech and inaudible audio for other speeches, shooting upside down, wide variability to the audio).
However, the main issue was the HD editor that Melissa used. The edit was woefully unprofessional and careless (including mic feeds of private conversations in the final edit from the ceremony, rough transitions, no coverage of bride coming down the stairs with her father, omission of highlights like us being lifted into chairs, etc, etc, etc).

In fairness to Melissa, 1. She had some lousy video to work with and 2. She had increasing responsibilities in her personal/home life. When we tried to amicably address the issues, fairly respecting and keeping Melissa's personal/family responsibilities in mind, the true unprofessionalism of this company became apparent. Melissa continually ignored and never addressed our detailed specific issues with the edit and preferred to respond to emails several days after they were sent. When she did reply, she hid behind the contract and did not take ownership of the laughable quality of her contracted "professionals" and their work. Despite her other responsibilities, as the head of a business sometimes you have to take ownership for those who work for you. I would frankly be upset and embarrassed if my company were represented in such a manner as our final edit wedding video. We offered multiple times to have her for dinner or meet in person to deal with things personally, maturely, and professionally and she refused. We then requested that she simply watch the hour and 45 minute video and ask herself if she would be happy with it if it were her wedding. She never indicated that she did and we have no reason to believe that she took the time to do so. She even refused to speak to us on the phone, a disgraceful display of poor customer service and unprofessionalism/immaturity.

Because we kept hitting unnecessary and unavoidable walls and obstacles, eventually we settled for a meager partial refund for re-editing costs along with our tapes and the edit on blu ray for our next editor to try and salvage. The final appropriate impression of Peapatch video was our tapes and the Blu Ray DVD arriving in a soft bubble mailer with the DVD broken in half. Of course, according to Melissa, this had never happened before. When asked to send another, the hilarity ensued with her telling us that she would need the raw videos back and it would take 8 weeks to make another. We told her to forget it. Our new HD editor watched the DVD we were sent and concluded that it probably took about 3 hours to throw together our video, and agreed that the quality was embarrassing and amateur. Pretty bad were their words. So perhaps Melissa is being ripped off by her editors, as she stated the editing was 800 dollars.

Don't you get ripped off by this company. Your memories will be better served elsewhere by a classier, more competent, and more professional outfit. Feel free to contact me.
Pea Patch Video, LLC responded with the following comments:
This was an unfortunate, totally isolated situation. The reason our company had to hire out the video work was due to complications in my pregnancy that made it painful for me carry around heavy camera equipment. I tried to help this client and find a new company to shoot and edit his video, but NO ONE would touch the 13 hour, three camera shoot for less than 1600 dollars MORE than what I was charging him. I felt that I could oversee the production and he agreed. Unfortunately, I could not burn bluray discs for him so I oversaw the editing as well. I sent him a ROUGH CUT of the wedding and said he could make some minor changes. He sent me a list of 34 points that he wanted changed, some understandable and some just being overly controlling. Also, I HAD to correspond with this client via email to protect my company. Whenever we had a phone conversation, I would think we were on the same page and then later he would add more things than what my company had agreed on (i.e extra camera at the ceremony, extra hour at the reception, changing how he wanted the band's audio to be captured, etc....) Consequently, I had to constantly refer him to the contract to let him know exactly what we had agreed on so that he didn't take advantage of me or my company. Also, this man felt it was necessary to text message my cell phone only days after he knew I was in the hospital having my child. Really? Some people have to wait 6 months to get their wedding DVDs. This was only 2 months after his wedding and he was constantly contacting me and at the time, I just needed a little family time to prepare for having my second child. He also knew I was in the middle of moving into a new home. Not that I would ever let personal situations totally get in the way of my business, but this was a situation where I needed a little more time to get his video the way he wanted it. Needless to say, it was a lesson learned in business: Only deal with brides! Just kidding.... But my work and the other reviews on this site stand for themselves. This man is thinking he can "ruin" my company's reputation by posting such a review, but I guarantee I have many more clients I can refer to you that will let you know what a wonderful experience they had with my company's work and professionalism! Thank you, Melissa Costantino

We would recommend Pea Patch Video in a heart beat to any couple. Melissa was wonderful to work with, flexible, professional, and she did a fantastic job with putting everything together. She was willing to work with us and meat our needs. She is very personable and honest, and we felt very comfortable working with her. She captured all the important moments and even things that we missed throughout the day. She is very creative in her work and we highly recommend her.

Melissa is great - she was recommended to me by Ron of Litrato Photojournalism (a photographer I highly recommend) and she definitely met my expectations. I emailed her on a very limited budget because videography was a last minute addition. She was more than willing to work with me and come up with a package that would work for both of us. She was very professional - made sure she got the footage she needed but was unobtrusive. During the ceremony I couldn't even tell she was there. Definitely someone I would highly recommend to any bride!
