We used Ovando for our personal flowers because they were recommended by our reception venue. I thought they were way overpriced, but understand flowers are expensive in the city. We arranged to have the flowers delivered to our hotel, but the florist dropped them off in the lobby without calling our cell phone and without a name on them. Fortunately, the hotel staff knew we were getting married and called to see if they were ours! I had ordered a small bouquet/tussy mussy for one of the mothers, but when delivered it was a big as the bridal bouquet! My friend had to cut it down and remake it so it wouldn't look odd.

Unless you want your friends to be remaking your flowers on your wedding day (that is, assuming you actually get them) I wouldn't use Ovando!

They are expensive, but you get what you pay for with Ovando. We met with some pushy and even obnoxious florists before meeting with Ovando, so after meeting Rebecca was such a breath of fresh air, we decided to pay the higher price. She really got our vision, and I was very impressed with how she would keep both my husband's and my taste in mind throughout the process. Our centerpieces were drop dead gorgeous, my bouquet was incredible and the chuppah was dramatic and really helped to set the tone of the event. The flowers became like another guest at the party - they really brought the whole vision together without being obtrusive or gaudy. Be aware that Ovando is very busy during the summer, so you do sometimes have to wait for a reply and may have to follow up, but overall, it was an incredibly positive experience.

I chose Ovando out of a choice of three florists working with my venue. We went with Ovando's signature modern orchid and calla lily arrangements. They looked incredible on our tables. Ovando also hung lanterns from multi-colored ribbons in the entrance of the venue. This looked very festive and beautiful. I can highly recommend Ovando for their reception flowers.
My only disappointment with Ovando was with their bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres. I had asked for pink roses and ended up with red roses in both the bridal and bridesmaids bouquets. The red roses were big and beautiful so it wasn't a big deal but certainly not what I originally envisioned. The flowers on the bridesmaids bouquets were falling out of the bouquet as soon as they were delivered. They didn't seem to be wrapped tightly enough by the satin ribbon. Luckily not many others fell from the bouquets. The corsage was small and didn't stay securely fastened. The boutonnieres were also small and red in color when pink was requested. They did ultimately match the bouquets so in the end it was not a problem but I was hoping for a softer pink look from my flowers. The centerpieces were awesome and inspirational but the bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres were average.

Beautiful flowers and kind, talented and professional people. I was able to realize my goal of having amazing, colorful flowers that didn't fall in the 'fluffy, girly, rosey' box. They had creative ideas and respected by budget. The result was more than I could have hoped for.

Amazing, I had no idea what I wanted and what I thought I wanted I found it hard to convey. They read my mind and came through with amazing flowers that I never even thought of. They will work with any budget and come up with amazing ideas for floor plans and decoration. AMAZING, Anne and Ashley are the best!
