I cannot say enough wonderful things about OMI and Marien Barker. QUALITY OF SERVICE: Let me start off by we are getting married Nov2015 in the Washington Ballroom. Both of our families loved the historic significance of the place and the neatly kept landscape. We also love being the only event happening @ the time. RESPONSIVENESS: Marien has been a tremendous resource even before we officially signed! She is always a phone call or email away, and goes above and beyond to make sure you've got everything you need to be at ease. Because of this, OMI was literally the easiest and least stressful decision of our entire wedding process! PROFESSIONALISM: We were lucky enough to view the ballroom just before an evening wedding. The staff was dressed to the nines, very courteous, attentive, and allowed us to see the space as it might look on our big day. Stunning! VALUE: Hotel rooms, cocktail hour, dinner selections, etc. are *incredible* for the price you pay (plus, it's just your event!). FLEXIBILITY: We had some issues in securing our church which caused us to delay in booking our wedding date with OMI. The staff "held" the date for us for over a month (no money down!) and continued working with us to ensure the Washington Ballroom was ours. During that time, there was never any pressure from them to commit (maybe because they knew we were already sold!). In fact, they treated us like we were already part of the OMI family. I cannot wait for our wedding day with them!
My husband and I got married here 2 weeks ago and it was AMAZING!! First Lyndsey Smiley was our sales girls who answered all of our questions and concerns, and worked with the price a little. John Leitz was our Maitre D, he was AWESOME! He was our go to guy for everything! He was always available via email and cell leading up to the wedding and got back to us very fast. The day of, he was on top of everything and made sure our day ran perfectly! We had a large bright space for the bridal party to get ready. We had our ceremony outside in the courtyard which was gorgeous. Cocktail hour had a ton of really good appetizers being passed around and stations, full bar service, and open to the outside area. The reception was in the main ballroom, which is kind of a blank canvas, but looks BEAUTIFUL with a little up lighting and flowers! ALL of the food was EXCELLENT! We also had dessert stations and a coffee bar which was really good. The cake was included and you go to taste and design it prior. It easily fit our 145 guests. I'd say up to 200 is probably comfortable. Our reception went until midnight and we had an after party at the grain house. Very convenient to have your hotel rooms right upstairs. The bridal suite to sleep was HUGE and very nice! All of our guests had a really great time, we had no issues at all, we HIGHLY recommend the Olde Mill Inn!!!
Thank you Ashley for this wonderful review! It was such an honor to host you and your guests at the Olde Mill Inn & Grain House! Thank you for selecting our venue and for all the kind words about Lindsey & John, we truly appreciate it! We hope you visit soon and share some of your lovely photos with us!
Wishing your all the best,
Olde Mill Management
We had an intimate reception with only 50 guests on a Thursday night. There was no better location to have our ceremony, cocktails and reception than the Grain House at the Olde Mill Inn. Our ceremony took place at the gazebo beside the creek - it was just lovely. Then we went inside to the Hunt Room and enjoyed our signature cocktail (Champagne Diamond was delicious!). Following cocktails we danced the night away inside as it was too humid to enjoy the outdoors, although that was the original plan. Through it all, our Maitre D' Marien Barker was awesome fantastic. I can't say enough about how easy she made everything. She's a real professional and we were so glad to work with her. Halfway through the ceremony my feet were killing me - so I texted her and begged her to find my flip flops in the room where we got dressed. She totally found them and saved my poor feet! From start to finish we loved the whole experience and our special day was even more grand. I highly recommend both the Olde Mill Inn and especially, Marien Barker.
Thank you for all your kind words and for choosing the Grain House for your wedding ceremony & reception! It was a pleasure to host this memorable day and hope that you will visit us for future celebrations!
When looking at venues in the Somerset County area, Olde Mill Inn stood apart from all the others! From the very beginning, Marien Barker sat down with us and reviewed all of our package options, explaining the pros of each (there were no cons to any of them!) and gave us a complete tour. Her honesty and her professionalism surpassed the people we visited at the other venues by far. Our maitre'd, Amanda Virga, was also very professional and fun! She helped us with a details in the planning process that set apart our wedding from many others. She also personally knew and worked with our other vendors previously, so on the day of the wedding everything went perfectly smooth! She also made sure we ate, made sure all of our personal items were safe, and made it a completely stress-free, beautiful day! Our guests complimented us on how beautiful the Washington Ballroom and the Courtyard was, how convenient of a distance it was from the church we got married at, how amazing the food was, and how fun the whole day was. My husband and I can honestly say that we could not ask for more. I am definitely recommending the Olde Mill Inn to my other friends that are getting married in the near future!
We had our wedding in August at the grain house and Amanda was our maitrede. She was wonderful!!!! Our wedding turned out amazing the food was excellent! It was better than I even imagined.
Thank you for your review & congratulations! We enjoyed working with you!
The Olde Mill Inn is one of the most beautiful venues out there. We were looking around for where to have our same-sex wedding and when we visited the Olde Mill Inn, we fell in love. The staff at the OMI is incredible and everyone wants so badly for the day to go perfectly. Lindsay in sales is amazing and so responsible and our Maitre D' John is unbelievable. We had our ceremony in the courtyard and had a Saturday evening wedding, which was spectacular and everything we hoped it would be. We got to stay in one of their Suites the night of, which was not only amazing, but made a great location for our getting ready photos. The staff at OMI is unbeatable and the food is incredible. Our guests raved about the food, hotel accommodations, and complimentary breakfast the next day. I only wish I could be a guest at my own wedding so I could enjoy the food more! The dance floor is huge and accommodated our large wedding full of dancing guests. We loved having our wedding here and even ventured to the Grain House after the wedding was over for after-party drinks. I love that only one wedding happens at the OMI at a time and even though there was a wedding at the Grain House that night too, there is a dedicated staff to each affair and there is no overlap, which was very important to us. This venue is one of a kind and even though it's a bit pricier compared to others, is totally worth it.
The Olde Mill Inn was not the first venue we visited, but once we saw it, the only thing left was to work out the details. What looks nice at drive up becomes amazing once you are inside. It was both comfortable and elegant.
They ( Lyndsey) worked with us to stay on budget and still have everything that any other venue offered and then some. The courtyard was perfect for our ceremony. The guys had the bridal suite to get ready and the girls in the bridal party had a separate room for their preparation.
John (our maitre de for the occasion) kept everything in order and on time from pre ceremony to post reception. The food was fantastic and plentiful. Our guests are still talking about it, all 118 of them. We had teens and children as well as adults, and everyone liked it. We cannot thank the people of the Olde Mill Inn enough for all the time and effort put into making our special occasion (August 9) an event to remember. This was the perfect venue for us. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
My husband and I just got married at the Olde Mill Inn. We are so happy we chose this venue. We wanted somewhere where our guest could stay and the Olde Mill Inn was a perfect choice. Everything at our wedding was excellent. The food and service were great. John was our maitre d and Lindsey Smillie helped us book our wedding. They both were very attentive and helpful throughout the planning process and the day of the wedding. We loved that we were able to go over to the Grain House after the wedding. Everyone really enjoyed the bar and how easy it was to get to. We continue to receive compliments from our guests on our venue.
We got married at the OMI on 7/31/15. We had both our ceremony and reception here and I would do it all over again if I could. We had a small wedding ~45 people, but it was still the perfect wedding and had all the details of a larger sized wedding. The minute I showed my fiance the OMI he loved it too. It has so much character but yet is modern in all it offers. We worked with Amanda and she was great. She did not miss any details. There were many things which I did not even think of myself that she made suggestions for. I had every confidence that everything would be perfect because she was very professional and detailed. The food was amazing. The signature drinks for the bride and groom were a sweet added touch. We had a beautiful day and we were lucky enough to have our ceremony outside and our cocktail hour under a tent that was just gorgeous. Even though we were a small wedding, we still had a full cocktail hour that had stations and passed h'orderves. It was also so nice that our guests could stay in the hotel and it was all located at the same premises. I would highly recommend the OMI and Amanda to anyone, but especially if you are looking to have a small wedding but still have all the niceties of a large wedding.
We just got married on July 25th at the Grain House location and it could not have been more perfect! Amanda was our Madre'D and she was awesome. She even spent extra time putting together an 80 piece puzzle that served in place of a guest sign-in book. We didn't even look at other venues. We immediately knew OMI was the perfect venue for us. One of the many highlights of our wedding that people are still talking about is the food! I've eaten at the Grain House many times and have taken family members and friends there and they have all raved about the food. Our wedding was no exception.
We had both our ceremony and reception at the Olde Mill in and IT WAS AMAZING! From every step of the planning process to the actual wedding day, the support we got from everyone was exemplary. We booked with Lindsay Stewart who is exceptional at her job. She always responds to emails and questions right away, and always had great suggestions for us in terms of planning. John Lietz was our Maitre D, and he was unsurpassed. On the day of the wedding, he had everything covered so the whole day went smoothly from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception. We didn't need a wedding planner there that day since he basically ran everything and it was perfect. He kept the timeline moving perfectly and really took any stress out of the day of for us, which was awesome!! We got so many rave reviews from all of our guests about the ceremony which ended up having to be inside due to rain but it was beautiful !!! The guests have all told us the food was delicious-- and the waitstaff were always friendly and willing to accommodate. We had a lot of guests from out of town also and the rooms were clean and beautiful, and the staff friendly and receptive. We really can't say enough about the Olde Mill Inn. If you want to have your wedding here you will not be disappointed!!!
The only word to describe our wedding at the Olde Mill Inn (Grain House) is PERFECT!!!!!! We booked our wedding with Marien Barker and she was extremely helpful at our first meeting. She explained all the details that would go into our wedding and provided us with a variety of options to make our day extremely special. After that meeting, no matter what we needed, Marien was availbale to help us!! Since my husband's family was coming in from Ohio and some of our other guests were traveling, we booked rooms for a few nights at the OMI. The staff was wonderful in accomodating the needs of everyone who was staying for our wedding. In addition, we had our rehearsal dinner at the Grain House. Marien and Ashley Roesler helped us select a perfect menu and our guests could not stop raving about the food. (My father still tells me every time he sees me that the cheesecake at the rehearsal dinner is the best cheesecake he has ever had in his life!!) On our wedding day, we had our ceremony and reception at the OMI. Amanda Virga was our maitre d and she was AMAZING!!! Prior to the wedding, we met with Amanda and went over all the details of our special day and on our wedding day, not one detail was missed!!! I was extremely impressed with all the effort she put forth to make sure our day was the very best it could be. (My maid and matron of honor were also very appreciative of Amanda's help in getting my dress bustled :-) The ceremony was beautiful and the cocktail hour and reception was exemplary. Our guests are still talking about the delicious food and wonderful atmosphere of the venue. My husband and I could not have asked for anything more. I will be telling any future brides to book at the Olde Mill Inn!! It truly was the best day of our lives and all the staff involved helped make our wedding day dreams come true!
Many have described The Olde Mill Inn as "perfect" and...it is!!! We had our wedding reception there on June 14 and not only did it meet all of our expectations - it surpassed them. It has been over 2 weeks and we are still hearing about how delicious the food was (specific mentions are below), how lovely the staff was, and how wonderful the stay was (many of our guests were out-of-towners). We definitely threw some unique needs at our (fantastic) Maitre D' (John Lietz) as this was our wedding celebration, which took place 1 year after our ceremony, so it was a little out of the ordinary. Also, I am fairly creative and had a wonderful florist help me carry out a design we created together, but he is not a local and there were 3 different table centerpiece designs. John took it in stride and made sure that he and the OMI staff did whatever they could to help!
From day one our experience was exceptional - Lindsay Stewart (sales) is so helpful; always responds to emails and goes above and beyond. John Lietz continued that responsiveness and willingness to help. Additionally, I communicated with the Front Desk Manager and team and they too were wonderful.
On the day of, the bridal ready room was very comfortable. John was attentive throughout the day and especially so at the cocktail hour and reception - making sure we ate and were happy with everything. He got everything to the suite or behind the front desk following the reception - there was no point in time where we had to remember or think of anything. He did it all! The suite was incredible!! We had an wind-down after-party, which the OMI offers in some cases, so we did not spend as much time in our room as we could have - but we could have happily lived there for awhile!
The Olde Mill Inn was PERFECT for our June wedding. I loved that it had the old, cozy feel of an inn with a gorgeous courtyard that we used during cocktail hour and for a brunch the next morning. Many of my guests have since raved about the food (especially the short ribs!) and how delicious everything was.
John and Lindsey were fantastic to work with in coordinating everything. They were very responsive and professional and made sure everything ran smoothly.
The best part, in my opinion, is that our guests had the option to get one of the inn's beautiful rooms and spend the night after the party. Many of us also walked over to the Grain House bar after the reception for the after party! That was an added bonus of fun at the end of the evening.
Definitely recommend. Wonderful, wonderful place for a special day.
This was the first place we looked at, and that was our last! We booked days later with the OMI.
Marien was our maitre d and was AMAZZZZZIIIINNNGGGG.
Everything I could have ever dreamed of and more !!
THANK YOU OMI FOR SUPPORTING OUR MILITARY. Our date had to be changed due to the groom's upcoming deployment training and they moved our wedding to another available date with no additional charges.
We had out wedding at the Grain House at Olde Mill Innand everything was absolutely beautiful! Amanda was truly a pleasure to work with and she did an amazing job making our reception a dream come true. We planned the wedding from Florida, so we did not officially meet Amanda until the Thursday before the wedding. However, she made it a point to reach out to us early so that we can iron out any questions or concerns in advance. She was fantastic about taking all of the decorations we gave her and used them perfectly throughout the space! The food was delicious, people are still talking about the French onion soup bowl appetizers!! Being a may wedding, it was a little pricey, but worth it!!
Thank you so much for your review Katie!! It was a pleasure to host your wedding so thank you for choosing the Grain House! Your details were perfect for the shabby-chic rustic style wedding and we loved seeing it all come together! Please share photos with us when you get them from the photographer! Congratulations & best wishes to you and Chris!
