Carl fail to provide sufficient camera people to capture all the requested moments. The men were getting ready in one hotel and the ladies in another. He never made it to the men's hotel for pre-wedding pictures. During formal pictures, he fail to take a picture of the groom and his mother. Our wedding was in and out doors but Carl never went outside missing half the event (especially since the groom was often outside. Carl was rude to the other vendors. We paid for a 15 page photo book but Carl created one with 32 pages and asked for an additional $1000. I had to recreate the book to stay within budget.

Carl provided photography for our December 2010 wedding. We are very pleased with his services. He met us at a convenient location to discuss the contract. Carl was very responsive to questions and concerns and answered all emails within the same day. He also spoke with my parents and addressed their concerns which put them at ease. At the wedding, Carl was great to work with. He was able to take all the shots we wanted without being intrusive or taking a lot of time. The photographs turned out beautifully. It was a daytime wedding in a facility with lots of windows and I was concerned a lot of the shots would be washed out. This wasn't the case. I was very impressed with the lighting and how well Carl was able to take the pictures in a bright room. The photos were a nice combination of wide shots and those with small details. My friends and family were equally impressed. We really like how Carl arranged the pictures in the art book. The book really tells the story of our day. We would highly recommend Carl to other brides and grooms. He is easy to work with, very accessible, responsive, and talented.

He did our engagement pictures and helped us get used to him and to having our pictures taken, and the results were fantastic. I'm so pleased with the both our engagement and our wedding pictures - so many beautiful shots, both posed formals and candids, to remember our special day. The hardest part was narrowing them down and choosing which ones to purchase and include in the Art Book.

Carl is down to earth and easy going and managed to take so many wonderful pictures with very little interference. He got all of our formal shots done quickly and had everyone looking great. He helped me, my husband, and our families and friends relax and focus on enjoying the day.

He was always responsive and easy to get in touch with, and he was responsive to our requests and wishes as well. There were a couple different shots I requested on the day of the wedding, and he was glad to do them and enthusiastic about them. If you want to photographer that will take beautiful pictures and who is incredibly pleasant to work with, I highly recommend Carl Nelson!

Though the photographer is a really nice guy, and his personality style aligned perfectly with what I wanted for my wedding day, the quality of the photos failed to live up to my expectations. Many comments were made to me from other parties that further supported the inadequateness of the pictures. For example, my hair stylist requested a review of her performance with accompanying pictures. I sent her some photos from Nelson photography, but she thought that the photos I sent her were from friends because they were NOT the quality that she was used to seeing from professionals. Another concern is that we received the proof book AFTER we had made our final selections for our expensive art book. Viewing photos online is not the same thing as seeing them printed, and once we saw them printed, we realized that we made a very poor selection because facial expressions were horrific in the printed photos, but they were not easily detected online. Overall, I am disappointed with the quality of the photos, but I have to live with what he provided because he's the only one that took shots of the bridal party, getting dressed, etc. Again, he's a genuinely nice man, but neither myself nor non-emotionally vested parties believe that the photos are of high quality.

I really enjoyed working with Nelson Photography on the day of my wedding. It was nice to have such a professional helping with getting the perfect pictures. They showed flexibility and knowledge throughout the evening.

Carl Nelson was a gem of a find! The services he provided were professional and personal. He was flexible with the arrangments and chaos of a big group. He was unobtrusive during the ceremony and reception but still managed to capture everything. He was courteous, warm, and timely. I never had to worry about him showing up or following through on the details of the art book afterwards. I have received many, many compliments on the book and can take no credit for it myself. Carl made some suggestions and I just let him do all the creative things. The album of work he presented far exceeded my expectations and after comparing it to the work of other albums consistently superceded the others as well I would give him the highest of recommendations without any reservations.
