The images Mike was able to capture went above and beyond my expectations. The photos appear as though he was right in our faces the entire night, but he was virtually invisible. I even had a few guests come up to me and ask if I had a photographer - I don't know how he did it. Beautiful, amazing, incredible, fantastic, artistic, crisp/clear, sentimental, in the moment/candid photography. If I could do the wedding all over again I may have made a few slight changes, but with our photographer - I would not have changed a thing. These pictures are forever, and when our memories become hazy with time I am so happy that our wedding will be remembered through the images captured that day- they are beautiful! Mike was such a pleasure to work with for our engagement and wedding photos! We are soo happy with how our wedding photos turned out. Mike has an excellent eye for candid shots and detail. He was able to capture laughs, hugs, kisses, dancing with some beautiful candid photos. Also, Mike was able to do all of this without us even really knowing he was there. He captured our day without stopping us and asking us to pose for a picture. Finding a good photographer was one of my top priorities when I began planning my wedding. I asked friends and looked online and finally came across Mike Buscher Photography. My fiancé (now husband!) and I both met with Mike and we were so impressed by his work, his experience and his all-around good guyness that we hired him on the spot. Mike did not disappoint. He responds quickly to emails with thorough responses and is also available by phone. He’s easy to talk to, very friendly and flexible. He showed up early (before his scheduled time) and got all the shots I asked for and all the ones I hoped he would get during the wedding. His background as a photojournalist comes through in his work and we were so excited when we finally saw our photos. Mike did an amazing job photo-documenting our wedding. The part that impressed me the most was that I asked him to get everyone in at least one photo. I told him it could be group shots but that I wanted to document everyone that was there. He took beautiful, up-close, candid, artistic photos of many of my guests which was beyond my expectations. My friends and family are able to enjoy those photos making it even more exciting to share them.

Mike was very detailed oriented to make sure he got all the pictures that we wanted and how we wanted them.
He had very reasonable pricing and his pictures came out beautifully.

Mike is an amazing photographer who fit in perfectly at my wedding. My husband and I are very laid back, and Mike did an outstanding job of staying out of the way and just capturing the event. We did not want a lot of posed pictures, but rather for pictures that told the story of the day. He did a wonderful job of this.

Our photographer was Kirsten, who we really liked. She was super sweet, helpful about poses without being bossy, punctual, and professional. Most of the photos were candid, which I much prefer over more formal shots. The price for what we got was very reasonable. We also met with her before the wedding, so she got more of an idea of our personalities, which was very helpful. We would highly recommend Kirsten to any couple looking for a non-cheesy wedding photographer that takes classic pictures without charging exorbitant sums.

Hiring a photographer was the first thing my husband and I did after getting engaged (after finding our venue and picking a date). Mike was the first photographer we met with; after meeting 6 other photographers we were confident with our choice to hire Mike.
Our decision to hire Mike was based not only on his skills as a photographer, but by looking at his albums. Too many photographers that we met simply said that we could select the pictures and design our album ourselves and that they would order the final product. Mike�s albums were wonderful and were what really sold us on his skills.
Mike had a very calming presence on the day of the wedding and I literally do not remember seeing him for most of the day. We received our pictures a little over a week after the wedding and they were all wonderful.

I picked Mike because he was an experienced photojournalist, and he did not disappoint. His style perfectly captured the feeling of the event, from the getting-ready festivities to the ceremony and reception. Not only was his work very high quality, it came with no attitude! Mike was super flexible and open to any suggestions. He asked me do to a list of must-have pictures, and was also open to guests asking for special requests. He couldn't have been friendlier -- yet never got in our way. We barely noticed he was in the room for the girls' getting ready shots! Overall, I couldn't have been happier. Guests who saw them commented as well that "he really captured the mood, the flavor of the day's events." Highly recommended.

I loved all the pictures from mikes portfolio that I had seen prior to my wedding, I was so excited to see mine when they were ready. I was not disappointed, all of them were so beautiful! Mike is a wonderful guy to work with and he is such a talented photographer.

Hindsight it 20/20 & while many of these little snafoos were my fault it doesn't help me now that the day is over. I should have made a specific list of all photos and people that I wanted taken and it was my mistake not to have done that. I did want photos of all of the details which I didn't get (example, table arrangements, table numbers, photobooth, candy bar, escort cards). When asked if there was anything not obvious that I wanted photos of I neglected to mention these things because I felt that they were obvious and the one thing that I did ask for a specific photo of (the table numbers) was forgotten. When we took photos outside my husband was holding my dress up so it wouldn't drag but you can see it bunched up behind me in all of the photos and I didn't know that it would be seen in all of the photos. I'm going to see if it can be photo-shopped out but as of right now I don't like any of those photos because I look twice as wide. I wish Mike would have mentioned that you could see it so we could have had a few photos without it. I'm also making some funny faces in some photos (fake smile) and it would have been nice if someone told me that my face looked a little frozen and maybe I needed a break. I also didn't end up with very many photos of my family or people in the bridal party and I felt like it was obvious who they were as well since they were only at two tables. There were a lot of photos of all of the important events of the evening but some of the people who are dancing aren't even people that I know. I also would have liked to have some more photos of just me and my husband. All and all I think Mike did an awesome job and I would absolutely use him again and highly recommend him I think I might just spring for an additional photographer and also write a detailed list of all of the photos that I would want taken.

Mike is exceptional! He's the nicest guy to work with and we had a blast with him. Mike came before the wedding to photograph us getting ready and you would have never known he was there. He even eased my nerves about the weather outside. Despite the rain we were able to get some formal shots outside and they look amazing. We know for a fact that Mike is good in the rain since our engagement photos were also on a rainy, cloudy day and you would never know it! We HIGHLY recommend him!!

We knew from the start that we wanted to carefully select a photographer that not only had a great portfolio but was someone we felt comfortable around and with whom we could easily communicate. Mike Buscher is an easy going guy that is very responsive and sincere in his work. His passion for his work is clear and natural. We would have never known he had other customers because we got such great attention from Mike. Mike caught almost all the shots we had imagined at our wedding and even a few we would have never thought of capturing. His work truly gives us the pleasure of re-living our wedding day!

One piece of advice I would give to any bride and groom, regardless of your photographer: think carefully about the important people that will be there and who you will want photos of later (seems obvious but you've got a lot on your mind before the big day) and remind yourself or your parents to point out those people to your photographer, whether it's a particular individual or a particular table of people. Also, for posed shots, it may seem obvious, but write down who you want in those shots and assign someone (brother, Dad) to round them up when the time comes. In the happy chaos called your wedding, and especially if you have a sunset ceremony/reception back-to-back like I did, these kinds of things might slip by you. You will have to quickly round those people up, before you lose folks, something I wish now we had given more attention to (i.e. 85 yr old Grandma did not want her photo taken or to walk down in the grass with her walker, Uncle was hiding, Aunt was already in cocktail hour, etc.). We did not want to spend much time on the posed shots so that we could enjoy our reception but later realized this was our only chance to get my Grandmother, Aunt and Uncle in family shots. Put someone (Mom, Dad, brother) in charge of this. In my case, in retrospect, we really wish we had pointed out our "family table" to Mike, so that we had gotten a few more photos of them. But all in all it was a wonderful experience!
