I had consider canceling this contract. I don't say that very often. I was told by the planner that she lived out of town, when she lived in Lewisville. The bride told me she lived in Lewisville on the day of her bridals. Her parents live out of town not the bride. Brides will use their bridals as their trial run which is something Michi's Hair Design doesn't do unless, they live out of town. I didn't do a trial run for this reason because I was told she lived 3 hours away when in fact she lived 15 minutes away. When a bride lives out of town, time is usually a factor. I was not told that her bridals were on Easter weekend when I was called to do this wedding, last minute. My fault, but I would have caught this had we done a trial run which we would have done, if I wasn't given misinformation. Brides will do this to save money. However, you could end up spending more money if you don't like the photos because, you don't like your hair and make up and then you have to retake the photo and find a new stylist. Her wedding was also on Memorial Day weekend, again if I had done a trial run, I would have caught this. There is a holiday fee for these dates. That is $300.00 that she did not pay. Also, on Easter, she hadn't made arrangements for her flowers for the day of bridals. The Flowers were done at my house when my husband and I made plans to go see his mom for Easter. We had to wait for them to be made. The flowers looked wonderful, and I did make a new friend out of the situation. All in all, I felt like this was a rushed wedding with a bride whom was trying to save money and nothing was going as smoothly as it should have. Everyone likes to save money but, not being truthful to a vender is discrediting. When we're making arrangements for me to come to her location, for the wedding, and her mother decided to go with someone else and stated to me that they decided to go with a "Philopeno stylist" because her price was cheaper. I found this to be very offensive. I actually sent out 2 emails and several phone calls, wondering if I was still doing the bride. Whenever I tried to call, her mother was short and rude to me on the phone. I was later asked if I would reconsider, by the planner, to go on location. I said no, for this reason, because I would not feel comfortable going into their house after the comment and being lied to. I would fulfil my contract with the bride. This is the reason why I chose to work with her alone. Her sister was very rude coming into my home right off the start. I have in my contracts that I have the right cancel if there are any changes in attitudes and mistreating of personal, on the phone or in person. I did not cancel this wedding. This was a huge shock for me, when I saw this review. I held back for a while, months in fact, to post anything. Before any bride comes to me, we do a consultation on the phone. I go over every detail for the trial run. I even say, that if you want to bring someone, that you can only bring one person and if there is going to be more people, please call me. This is because I have renters in my salon with clients. Plus, when three people come to a trial run, it is very hard for me hear what the bride wants for her day, if three people are giving their opinoins and making the bride confused on what she wants.

Before the bride leaves, I read every word that is in my contracts and they sign it if they want to book with us. This includes feeding the people that go on location, if they are there for more than 4 hours. It states, "We may not want anything, but we ask that you at least ask us." This was a 2 hour drive for us, and 6 hours of work. This is an 8 hour day with no break. My assistant was pregnant for this wedding, and she snacked while I still worked, and took a break when I told her to. I usually don't eat anything until I finish for the day, if I even eat anything. Food was provide and I ate when I was finished.

I always think that sometimes, somethings just don't need to be address. In this case, I thought a lot about it. It is really upsetting for me to think that someone thinks that I was so intimidating. I do a professional job and people pay us good money to have a professional. We don't do this on the side, to make extra money. I love what I do for a living and take my job serious.

We are a licensed salon and we give advice on hair and skin. When we prescibe something and the person buys this from us, then we are liable. If this person buys a product off of many suggestions, and does not call the salon to tell us about an allergy from a product that was not purchased from the salon and I find out 8 months after, at the wedding, I would have said, stop using the product. There just was no communication. I am very sorry that she felt like I was to intimidating to do so. I guess, what I don't understand, if I was so intimidating at the trial run and made her cry, why did she book me? I really and truely don't understand this. I take so much pride in my work and I become close with all the brides I work with. If someone made me cry and made me feel this horrible, I would not want them to do my hair and make up for my wedding.

As for me waiting for money for tipping, several of the girls at this wedding had purchased eyelashes and hair jewelry. I wait to collect the money at the end of wedding, when we are finished, for the girls to pay us. These item are not free. We bring them with us for the girls to purchase. This is what I think is being mistaken for me waiting for cash in hand for a tip. I require that if they want to purchase these item, they have to pay for them with cash. We don't take checks for these items, only cash. Also, we do have in our contracts about tipping. This is so the bride doesn't tip at the trial run, the bridal portraits and then the day of the wedding. People tip when going to a hair salon. So, for a bride we just want them to hold off till we have done our job. We put everything in our contracts even tipping. Every bride is read every word in the our contracts. We have nothing to hide and she signed our contract

I did tell her that her wedding was out of my range. I don't do weddings 2 hours aways from where I live or work, nor do I do a wedding an hour away. I have on some occasions but, for my own health reasons, I just don't do weddings that far away from home. I was honest with her, I told her this on the phone. I was upfront with her. She said she would arrange a hotel closer, and they would get ready there so I would take the wedding. She called me 4 times for this wedding. We bonded over the phone. She said she was related to a person I went to high school with. She also said she couldn't find anyone to come to her venue. I told her that I had never been out there, and I had always wanted to go to A&M Gardens, but it is just too far for us, this is the reason why I had never seen it. She orginally told me, on the phone that she was going to get a hotel near Ft. Worth. During the trial run, she said it was now going to be at A&M Gardens. I asked her how far it was, she said about an hour away, right outside of Ft. Worth. A week later, after the trial run, she called and said it was an hour and a half and gave me milage in an email. The drive was almost 2 hours for us. She did pay for the milage for us to go out there, A&M Gardens was beautiful, and all and all, we had a good time and we were glad that we got to see this amazing place.

We were joking about her last name and that I was doing her wedding because she was related to my friend. This was a joke between her and I in good fun. I am shocked that this is in this review as well.

I am really sorry that I made evapor8ed feel intimidated. I am sorry that she cryied. I am sorry that she thought that our fun together was taken so horribly wrong. I am really sorry that she couldn't call me and let me know how she felt, or how she was feeling. This review was and still is a total shock to me. I have asked my clients to give me there honest opinion about me and asked them, do I come across intimidating? Even past bride, I have asked. This is how much of a shock this is to me.

I hope that evapor8ed has moved on, I know I have. I just felt like I was in a better place to give a response to this review, now.

I thought she looked beautiful on her wedding day. I wish pictures were posted, so you can see how pretty she looked. Proof is in a picture. She looked amazing and so pretty!

After this review, I took some time off from doing weddings. I did a lot of soul searching. I really didn't know if I wanted to do brides anymore after this review. I took off Aug and Sept of 2009. Last year I did 68 weddings. I started to realize that in my business, I can not make everyone happy. This is my first bad review in 10 years. I know that there may be more, I hope not, but I do have to be realistic and not take it so personally. I just hope, that if I do something that is this displeasing, please pick up the phone and call me. I can't fix a problem if I don't know what is wrong.

Again, I am truely sorry that I made evapor8ed feel so horrible and uncomfortable on her trail run and on her wedding day. I can not say enough how bad I felt about this.
