Karla was so helpful, kind, appropriate, and yet, fun. My entire family felt so comfortable and truly had an enjoyable time. What a wonderful opportunity to have a wedding that was "different" and not the "same ol'" wedding experience that can not only be stressful, but borders on "stuffy"! We got married in a garden amidst the song of bluebirds! Beautiful bright bluebirds! And, right when Karla pronounced "husband and wife" a butterfly flew by right in front of us! Karla didn't read from a "book" she shared the ceremony from her wisdom of the heart...and while it had traditional components, the words were rich and magically, simply suitiing us personally. While I would love to keep this place my special "secret", I have to share the love. I will be coming back for a vow renewal!!!

Everything was taken care of by the officiant and director. Our ceremony was beautiful. The price was very resonable for all of the services provided. We would highly recommend Tea Cup Wedding.

My daughter was married at Teacup Wedding on July 30, 2011. I was very impressed with the rite of ceremony, the organization of the event, the solemnity and professionalism personified. The setting was beautiful both interior and exterior, and very neat and clean. I would highly recommend this service.

From the moment I spoke with her on the telephone, her serenity, peace-filled voice put me at ease. I was thrilled to find that she was very responsive, accomodating and kind. She provided us with a ceremony template that allowed us to casually go over each step of our ceremony and incorporate our elements along with ideas provided by her. On the day of the wedding, she arrived promptly, was calm, warm and friendly. Her spirit is incredibly calming! The ceremony itself was beyond my expectations, she incorporated our friends and family, both those in company and those who had passed before. She made every guest feel as those they were a part of our union. Most importantly, we felt her warmth and serenity, her kindness in guiding us together. Every guest later remarked that this was the best wedding ceremony that they had ever witnessed!

Teacup Weddings provided amazing service for our wedding. We were completely happy with Karla, she was very professional and helped guide us through the ceremony. She presented us with an outline of the ceremony and let us personalize it to suit our wishes. The guidance was much needed and appreciated. There is so much couples know they have to decide with a wedding, but the very precise word choice is often forgotten. I'd highly recommend Karla and Teacup Weddings for any couple who wants an amazing officiant.

Karla was a great choice for our elopement!! We were on very short notice and she was able to accommodate us beautifully without any hesitation. She was very friendly and she helped us through all of the confusing parts of an elopement and the signing of the documents. My (new) husband and I would recommend her in a heartbeat to anyone looking to get married!

We had a very good experience at Country House & Garden/Teacup Wedding. They delivered well on what they billed themselves as offering. If I had it to do over again, I probably would have tried to find a place that would allow more guests, but we did know what we were signing up for when we signed up so I can't fault them for my change in personal preference. In terms of advice to future brides - this kind of arrangement can be nice or it can be dramatic. For us it was a little of both, with people being offended that they weren't coming, but with the intimacy of the ceremony being a nice thing for those we did want there. They offer a really nice setting that is well maintained and comfortable. I actually found them to be surprisingly flexible when we did have special requests. Karla was a great officiant, and we liked the ceremony.

    Michigan Marriage Officiant's reply:

    Crystal,
Thank you so much for your wonderful review.
As you described so well "with the intimacy of the ceremony being a nice thing for those we did want there"; we are a unique offering that many couples finds to be ideal for their desires and number of guests. I'm sorry that you had to deal with people who did not respect your choice, for your day.

We appreciate your comment: "I actually found them to be surprisingly flexible when we did have special requests. Karla was a great officiant, and we liked the ceremony", although it was a bit confusing in comparison to your "flexibility" rating. We'll assume it was an error, as I do recall that, as you acknowledged, Karla was very accommodating to your "special requests".

BE CAREFUL!!!! NOT FLEXIBLE OR ACCOMODATING AT ALL!!!! I can't comment on how nice the venue is since we never made it there.... The following all boils down to a simple phone call...

We reserved our date in March for a Wedding in October 2013. We read the reviews and saw the pictures online which led us to believe that this location would be perfect. We wanted their "Teacup" package which only allowed for 20 guests. They count the Bride, Groom and Photographer as guests so that takes you down to 17. They do NOT make exceptions.

Paula and Dick Weber communicated via e-mail for everything, which was fine until there was some confusion that needed to be cleared up. We asked for a phone call to clarify some confusion, but they REFUSED! They would ONLY communicate via e-mail so they could “keep a record” of what was said. This would have been fine if there was not multiple people e-mailing back and forth. Sometimes you just need to talk to a person.

When we got frustrated and demanded a phone call, they CANCELED our contract in late June! They do not leave you feeling like they appreciate/value you as a customer. I would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!

    Michigan Marriage Officiant's reply:

We provide an affordable, small setting for intimate "weddings" and elopements - for couples who are looking for exactly what we can accommodate.
As clearly described on our website, we are unique in our offering. We stress in all information detailing our services that our capacity is non-negotiable, and couples who make a reservation acknowledge this in our "Contract/Agreement". Shannon Stanard & Anthony Nettles both acknowledged their awareness and agreement to our offering/capacity when we began communication.
The pivotal point noted above: "until there was some confusion that needed to be cleared up", was specifically when Shannon contacted us regarding a desire to have more guests in attendance than our capacity. When her request, over and above our clear capacity was not "accommodated" she ended all communication, leaving all communication between Anthony and us.
We confirmed via email with both Shannon and Anthony, the Bride and Groom, that:
    1) they knew our capacity, and that we will not exceed our capacity when they began communication/planning.
    2) Shannon, the Bride, who requested a larger "wedding" with more guests in attendance was no longer in communication with us.
    3) Anthony stated above: "When we got frustrated and demanded a phone call" "a phone call to clarify some confusion", his insistence for verbal communication - with him - regarding Shannon's desires for her wedding, was not in anyone's best interest. He simply needed to make arrangements at a location that offered the size wedding that the Bride desired, rather than continue demands, verbally, that could be construed as a verbal agreement.
