I lucked out finding Rachel as the photographer for our wedding. She was very easy to work with and had lots of great ideas. I never had to worry about getting the right shot or looking good in the pictures, she handled everything. I had an amazing experience as a bride and I know she was a big part of it. She made the photography part of the wedding fun and unlike a lot of other areas the photography was something I never once stressed about. She's very talented, friendly, outgoing and unique. I hope to use her as a photographer again down the road if ever we have another event. I'm still amazed everytime I look at the pictures, she captured us perfectly.

Rachel of mergeweddings.com gave us more than beautiful, funky photographs to remember the wedding day by. (Though we do love those beautiful, funky photos!) She was an integral part of the whole experience by bringing a lot of fun to the table (my relatives and friends loved her) and helping us all feel natural and at ease. We never had to pose, pretend to be models, or set up shots again and again; she knew how to catch us and our personalities at our best during the joyful flow of the day. (We've never looked so good in print, either!) And the engagement session was creative and created a lot of good memories in itself; it was one of the best pre-wedding activities for us. We laughed so much. Rachel was more than willing to try new things, such as photographing in a hardware store. She's full of great ideas. I highly recommend her photography services!!!

Rachel at Mergeweddings is absolutely fantastic. I hired her as a destination photographer and I never worried about her arriving from out of town. Before the wedding she worked with me through two or three drafts of our contract due to my inability to make decisions and it was a breeze. She was very prompt when replying to my many questions.
At the wedding she brought another photographer along and having both of them there worked out great. She is very professional and creative with her choice in location, lighting and style. Even though a photographer never promises to give you every photo on your wish list, she did a fantastic job of taking the photos we wanted. I enjoyed her flexibility with the craziness of our wedding! Her personality is encouraging and she is a blessing to work with.
As for the ceremony and reception: other than a few clicks here and there, I hardly noticed that she was sneaking around taking photographs!

Rachel was amazing--she hires the best photographers to accompany her shoots, she is completely professional, her turn around time is amazing, and she is the most talented photographer I know. She has the amazing ability to capture the emotion of the moment. She makes you feel completely comfortable while you are being photographed (and I am seriously camera shy, so this was huge for me), she is easy to get a hold of, and she is open to whatever ideas you have, and offers advice that is not overwhelming but instead helpful. All in all, she was the easiest part of the wedding planning process for us. I would recommend her to everyone.

The best wedding photographer I have ever come across. I appreciate that she works with you, and tries to make your day as stress free as possible. It is also amazing how many natural shots that she takes. Often wedding photographs are very stiff, rigid and predictable. She was willing to use any location and was very flexible. Her photos are amazing, and different from just the 'norm.' And who wants the 'norm?' I would recommend her highly!

Rachel, owner and operator of MERGEweddings, is like no other photographer we met with during our search. From our initial meeting in a Starbucks, I knew that this girl was going to capture our wedding in a spectacular fashion. And my beliefs were proven a thousand times over during the entire process of our wedding.

First off, Rachel offered an engagement photo session as part of her package. I initially scoffed at the idea, but was convinced by my wife that it would be a good thing. So we chose an interesting location (Franklin Park and abandoned zoo) at the encouragement of Rachel and spent a few hours wandering the grounds. What I thought was going to be a chore turned out to be a great way to interact with my wife and for photographer/subject to learn about each other.

When next we met, it was wedding day. Rachel had brought a second photographer with her and both of them wasted no time snapping photos. We had about an hour before the ceremony where we posed in traditional and VERY non-traditional ways with friends and family. This proved to be more fun than expected and definitely helped us get loose before getting in front of our crowd of 175.

During the reception, Rachel and her cohort were sneakily shooting us and the crowd. I honestly barely remembered that either of them were there, but they captured all the important moments.

But it doesn't stop there! Oh no! Rachel embraces new ideas and freshness and encourages her clients to do the same. This is how I ended up back in a suit and my bride in her dress as we romped through a farm. In the middle of nowhere.

We posed in hay lofts, horse stalls, on John Deere tractors, with horses, on fire engines, under covered bridges, and even laying down in the middle of the road. We honestly got some of our favorite photos from this last session and definitely had lots more fun.

Throughout the process, Rachel exuded a professionalism like no other. From the time she cut up her foot as we explored the zoo, to the time she dropped one of her lenses on our wedding day, she never let on that anything was wrong. She is completely focused on being an unobtrusive observer of the couple at hand and their special day.

In summary, Rachel is a joy to work with and can make anyone enjoy having their photo taken. You will feel like a superstar when she is working with you. Her style and perspective on how best to capture a couple and their day is unlike anyone else you will find. And above all, her work is stellar; you will absolutely treasure the photos she captures with her lenses. I am looking forward to the next opportunity where I can use her services again.

Rachel is wonderful, talented and just fantastic overall. We were looking for a photographer with an artistic, photojournalistic style who didn't break the bank. With so many photographers charging a base of $3000 and up, we were almost ready to hire a photography student and hope for the best. Then we found Rachel and she was just what we were looking for. Her price packages are flexible and she is such a joy to work with, not to mention her work is amazing. All of our friends and family thought our engagement and wedding photos were brilliant with many of them saying that they were the nicest wedding photos they had ever seen. Rachel also offers such a personal touch to her work that in the end we've formed a friendship and still keep in touch. I really can't say enough great things about Rachel. You should hire her!

Rachel was the first, and only, photographer we met with. In fact, she was the first vendor we booked, even before we had a reception site. We would quickly realize that Rachel would become so much more than just a vendor. From day one, Rachel took the time to get to know us. Throughout the year leading up to our wedding, Rachel kept in touch with us, checking in to see how the rest of the wedding planning was going.

Once we saw our engagement photos, we knew we had made the right decision. Our wedding photos did NOT disappoint....nor have the photos from the two photo shoots we have done since then. One of the greatest parts of being long time clients of Rachel's has been seeing how she has grown as a photographer. The more work of hers we see, the more impressed we are of her. She is truly a gifted photographer with a vision to truly see her clients, and the people and things that make their wedding day so beautiful.

Our photographer was Rachel McPherson of Merge Weddings, a Boston-based photographer who does the most amazing work!!! She's fairly new and gets her jobs mainly through word-of-mouth, but is reasonably priced for the quality photos that she produces. She may be young, but she's got tons of energy and was SO much fun to work with. Seeing her work, it wasn't very hard to choose between her and all of the other Boston-area photographers. Incredibly creative, professional and caring - Rachel is worth it!

A general line of advice for anyone looking to hire anyone for anything: find someone who loves it, because they will do it better. This is especially true about wedding vendors, who have seen it all and have probably dealt with most of it in their careers. Rachel Hadiashar (McPherson, when she photographed my wedding) is one of those who loves it. Final result: a wedding album full of beautiful pictures, completely devoid of those bizarre facial expressions which turn up so often in my own pictures. Not just my wedding album either- the three or four friends who hired her after I did were equally pleased. :)
