Mayhurst is so beautiful and Jack and Pat were great! They made sure our guests were always comfortable and happy, the grounds were immaculate! I couldn't have picked a better place or better hosts! All our guests appreciated the history of this location. Pat suggested poses I should take with the photographer and I can't wait to see how they turn out:) She even helped the gentlemen with their buttoners! They ran around behind the scenes and made sure everything ran smoothly. The venders Pat suggested were top notch, we were very impressed with Randy (Elmwood at Sparks catering) and Ran and Linda (Blue Mountain Weddings photography).
Our wedding was beautiful and perfect (even with half a cake) and we couldn’t have done it without Mayhurst!

Jack and Pat were wonderful and working with them was a pleasure. Each detail was taken care of to the utmost perfection. Jack had the lawn and grounds of the Inn looking beautiful and Pat make the most wonderful breakfasts for our guests. All who stayed at the Inn enjoyed their stay and told us how wonderful it had been. We couldn't have asked for a more gracious and accommodating stay for our wedding weekend. Thanks to both of them for a wonderful experience!

The Bed and Breakfast was extremely helpful before the weekend of the wedding. Once we arrive for the weekend if seemed as if everything was supposed to go one way, theirs and not mine. The venue is extremely beautiful and we had a wonderful wedding despite rain however for the price we paid the service was not up to par.

The cost included the whole place from Friday afternoon until Sunday at noon and therefore, sleeping arrangements for 25. We had the rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception there, which was what we were looking to do. There were plenty of choices for ceremony locations and if anything there were too many locations for people to hang out - some of our photos make it look like there not too many people, but really they were just very spread out sometimes. The owners were super nice, helpful, discrete, understanding and CALM. The grounds were exactly what we wanted - an amazing house with well maintained lawns and gardens and a real private feeling. It satisfied our parents who wanted an elegant affair, us who wanted to party until the wee hours and even gave the grandparents an interesting taste of history. They pretty much let us do whatever we wanted - within reason, I mean the house is historical, so they don't want too much going on in there..but outside. Well, we partied late and they even let a few of our friend pitch tents on the 40 some-odd aceres.

The only bad thing I'd say is that they have a list of recommended vendors for everything and some of the ones I used from the list weren't that great....um caterer and officiant. But the people at the Mayhurst were super and it was ultimately up to us to decide which other vendors to use - they just provide a list of people who have been used "successfully". I guess it also might wind up being a lot more work to have a wedding and reception at the Mayhurst than at a place where everything is sort of pre-determined. Meaning with Mayhurst you have to choose EVERYTHING yourself and you can choose whatever you want - so it's more leg work, but a lot more personal and special in the end. Oh, and the town of Orange isn't the most happening place. So make sure you figure out where your guests will all sleep almost at the same time you book the Mayhurst. Either way, I really don't have any complaints that directly relate to the Mayhurst and I'm usually a complainer, so it makes for a great choice.

Couldn't say enough good about this place. As soon as I saw it I knew it was perfect. A classy and private place to celebrate with beautiful outdoor ceremony locations as well. Loved it. The owners are super nice and helpful too.

The Mayhurst Inn is a beautiful plantation bed and breakfast in Orange, VA. It provided a gorgeous backdrop for our tented wedding reception for 220 guests. We rented the entire inn for the weekend and only our family and friends stayed there. The service was personal, the breakfast was delicious and the home and grounds were breathtaking. The inn was within our budget and was a lovely place for our wedding reception. We have received compliments from many friends and family members who want to go back for a vacation themselves.
