We hired Main Event and worked with Kara for our April wedding and can’t even begin to describe not only the amazing service, but the delicious food as well. I had contacted Kara about 15 months in advance of the wedding and she was the only person who stayed in contact with me even though the wedding was so far away. She gave us as much attention back then as she did in the weeks leading up to the wedding. We had a unique food menu (I’m latin and wanted a more latin infused menu – some of which consisted of their own creations and were delicious). The food was different than what you typically have at weddings and definitely set us aside from “average hotel food.” I can’t tell you how many people we saw get up to get seconds and thirds. Any feedback we gave to Kara during the tasting was taken into consideration and executed for the day of. Come wedding day, the staff was superb. When Kara tells you that you will have a food and drink stalker, you get a food and drink stalker – we were fed from arrival to departure and always had a drink. That was also not a typical part of the bride and groom experience where they normally stave at their own event! The staff would check in with us to see if we ever needed anything or if there were any issues we would like taken care of. Also, we got everything back that we had requested: the table numbers (which were childhood pictures), the number holders, and champagne flutes (I was sure I was taking a risk with those – they even washed them before returning them to us!). In summary, the food was AMAZING, the set up was GORGEOUS, and I could not think of anyone better to help you plan your reception so that it goes smoothly. It’s the best customer service my husband and I have ever experienced. THANK YOU KARA!!!

I had my ceremony and reception at Meridian House for 130 guests. I thought Main Events did an outstanding job at a reasonable (for DC) price. They provided Hors D'oeuvres, 3 course dinner, bar service, petite desserts, and cake. We brought in our own wine and spirits for the bar service. The service was executed flawlessly and the food was exceptional.

Planning, my mom and I worked with Spencer McCormack. He was so much fun to work with and "on it" for every single detail. Having complete confidence in the caterer made the planning process so much easier.

The big day, our head waiter was so nice, regularly checking up on me and my new husband. They also assigned a specific waiter to attend to our wedding party/ family while photographs were being taken during cocktail hour; hence guests in photos didn't feel like they missed cocktail hour. The food was impressive. We had a duel entree of short ribs and salmon for our main course. A 3 course dinner for 130 people is difficult to execute, but they did so flawlessly and keep us right on schedule. For dessert, I'm not a fan of traditional wedding cake and they created a chocolate cake underneath white frosting, which was delicious. They also provided a delicious bite sized dessert collection.

Overall, I thought Main Events and Spencer did a wonderful job. My guests were very pleased with the service and food. I'd highly recommend them.

Peggy McGuire and Main Event Catering were phenomenal. The service was truly first class. The food from the cocktail hour to the chocolate truffles were spectacular. We were beyond pleased! We initially spoke to them fully believing we wouldn't be able to afford this caliber of service. Peggy worked with our budget and to my very pleasant surprise offered me a very fair and reasonable proposal within our budget. They didn't try to over sell us or push anything we weren't comfortable with. There were several times in the process she would talk me off the ledge and let me know that it was ok we couldn't afford the linen upgrade because at the end of the day, they could make our event wonderful at our price point. The food was fantastic. They made sure we had something to eat and brought appetizers and champagne to us during pictures. Our wedding day would not have been as seamless and elegant without this extremely professional company on our side. Peggy brought a wealth of experience with her and was able to accommodate any of our request that required her going above and beyond. I truly feel that they delivered on their promise. All of the waitstaff was professional, friendly and accommodating. Several of my guest mentioned some of them by name days later! What more can we say. We were very happy and highly recommend them.

Main Event caterered our wedding. The meetings before the event were wonderful. Kara, our event coordinator, was fexible with our tastes, dietary restrictions and budget. The tasting was over the top and the food was so so good. At the event, the service was outstanding. The set up and take down went very smoothly. I would highly highly recommend them!

What can you even say about Main Event- they're truly the best in the area. Professional, eco-friendly, delicious, and really good about working with cost-conscious brides. Also, their truffles are quite possibly the best chocolate in the world. I have a couple of anecdotes that I think really summarize my experience with Main Event. The management was awesome at promptly addressing issues- our initial event designer switched jobs, and we were assigned to a new one. When we first met her, it was immediately apparent that we were going to have a personality clash. (I don't want to name names, because I'm sure she's awesome at her job, we just had really different opinions on some things.) I kind of tentitively contacted the manager to say that while we really wanted to work with Main Event, I was a little bit hesitant about working with this designer. She asked me what the issue was, I explained, and she reassigned us within hours to someone who was a much better fit. Lastly, at the wedding, one of the butlers accidentally toppled a bottle of red wine, some of which splashed on my dress. Total freak accident involving a wobbly table and a too-cramped hallway and a lot of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but the on-site manager was AMAZING. He had one of the female butlers sit by my side as I was eating dinner, and she got almost all of the wine out with soda water before I even got to the dance floor. And then they offered to reimburse me for the cost of cleaning my dress, even though the spill wasn't really their fault. VERY professionally handled, and I really appreciated it. But I'm considering asking for reimbursement in those AMAZING truffles. Seriously. ;)

We hired Main Event to cater our wedding in December and I can confidently say that it was the best decision we made in the wedding planning process. They didn't just cater our food, they set up the whole place and provided the majority of the decorations! We worked with Andrea and she was so sweet and understanding throughout the whole process. I changed my mind about things from the menu to the colors so many times and I always felt that she was willing to accommodate our every need! The day of, she went above and beyond our expectations, helping with things that weren't even in her job description just to ensure our special day went along smoothly! Our wedding day was perfect, and it wouldn't have been without Andrea! She is so professional and easy to work with. Their food was amazing, if there was anything about our wedding that people raved about, it was the food! The food never ran out, it was elegantly displayed like artwork and it tasted delicious! Hiring Main Event is worth every penny and if you choose to go with them, make sure you request Andrea, she is wonderful! I would recommend this vendor to anyone looking for a fantastic and professional catering company in the NOVA/DC area!

We are so happy about how our wedding reception turned out! The Main Event team, led by Meg, was fantastic. The food was beautiful, the tables were lovely, and there were so many delightful details throughout the reception. The service was perfect - the team was incredibly quick, efficient, and calm, and all of our guests were very happy. We had a few pictures in between the ceremony and reception and it was so lovely to walk in to find people laughing, eating and drinking, and to see the room looking so beautiful. We really appreciated the head of the staff approaching us shortly after we entered with a little tray of all of the hors d'oeuvres, made up just for us so that we could try everything. We wouldn't change a thing - it was a perfect afternoon.

Main Event was incredibly easy to work with! I felt very confident that everything would go off without a hitch and it did! The food was delicious and Michelle (our event coordinator) made certain at our tasting that everything was the way we liked it. Michelle was also very thorough in making sure she has all the other vendor contact information and knew the timing for how everything was going to play out on the wedding day. Even though she was the caterer, she was going to make sure nothing else went wrong! In addition, Main Event has been very patient in working with me and my mother to make sure that everyone is happy. When we had our initial meeting with Michelle she asked us what our favorite foods were. My favorite food is spaghetti and meatballs, so when she gave us our proposal, one of the appetizers was spaghetti wrapped around the tines of a fork with a meatball stuck on the end. After the wedding, everyone was talking about that appetizer. It was so cute! But, in addition to the appetizers, we recevied so many compliments about the dinner. I heard everyone cleaned their plates! Besides the food, the staff looked so professional and was very attentive. It made me feel like me and my event were so special!

Our experience with Main Event was fantastic. We started out working with one coordinator and when she left Rebecca took over. She was very responsive to my many emails and changes. We were able to bring our own alcohol and desserts, and they took care of the rest. On the day of, the staff were all very attentive to us and our guests. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS. Even our pickiest guests ate their dinner and loved it. While it was pricier than some other caterers in the area, you get what you pay for. We could not have been happier with Main Event!

The food at our wedding was delicious. Everyone from Main Event Caterers (captain, servers, bartenders, chefs) were professional and efficient. The servers were very attentive and excellent.

We received many compliments from our guests about the delicious food. The presentation of all the food was beautiful! We are very happy that we selected Main Event to cater the wedding! Michelle was wonderful to work with!

BEST FOOD & SERVICE!!! Spencer at Main Event was terrific with all pre-planning for our outdoor wedding in Sept 2012. The service by Cory and his team on the day off was top notch and the food was out of this world. Everyone is still talking about the food! The short ribs were to die for...melted in your mouth and delicious. We also had chicken with artichokes and goat cheese and our vegetarian dish was pumpkin ravioli with brown butter sauce....both also were terrific. We went for a food tasting a few months back and that too was out of this world and a beautiful presentation was done then too. Their showroom has everything you need to see and pick...chairs, color of tablecloths, napkins, servers, plates, glasses, etc. I was so impressed from the very beginning. My younger daughter caught the bouquet, so I may be needing Main Event again very soon:)

We loved working with Kara for the catering of our wedding reception. The food was delicious. The staff was wonderful. Our only issue was that the head table was not spaced well. We were very squished, but we laughed about it and enjoyed the rest. Guests commented about how wonderful the food was and how kind the staff was!

Main Event far exceeded my expectations. The service, presentation, and quality of the food - all amazing. I can't recommend them enough! Everyone from my Event Designer Rebecca to the Event Supervisor Guillermo was a pleasure to interact with and really made me feel like my wedding was their top priority. You are will be in good hand with Main Event. A++++!!

As soon as we met Spencer at the tasting, we knew we would use Main Event (at least my husband did and he was going to foot the bill!!). He inspired such confidence that he and Main Event would do whatever it took to make our daughter's wedding a wonderful, magical event. And... he and Main Event did not disappoint! His attention to detail and willingness to listen to our ideas and concerns resulted in the wonderful, magical evening! We had guest after guest comment on the presentation and more importantly taste of their meals. Even our vegatarian friends said how they felt that their meal was 'important' and not just an add-on to appease a few. And the appetizers... well they were to die-for! Folks literally chased down servers for another goat cheese quesadilla or 2-bite burger. Delish!
So, thanks Spencer! and please thank your planning team, the chef, who is a genius, and the wonderful crew that worked the event... It was fantastic!!

Kara Marshall of Main Event saved our bride this weekend found a tarp and rescued her in the pouring rain. Had it not been for Kara's help and quick thinking a Vera Wang gown would have been caught in a torrential down pour. The day was absolutely wonderful. Thank you Kara!!!!

Main Event was amazing. They were by far the most reasonably priced caterers and provided AMAZING service. I would use them again. Ask for Spencer, he was patient, creative and just inspiring.
