I too had a horrible experience with Tracy. It took us forever to get our pictures and when we did they looked like something my mother could have taken. The books that we saw at her office were beautiful and so I was crushed when I finally got our pictures. Hands cutoff in shots, sun spots...Tracy was also late to my wedding and spent a lot of the night eating. She even missed when I threw the bouquet. I would shop around. I wish that I had seen this site before.

This is the first negative review I have written in my life, but knowing how challenging it can be for Brides and Grooms to plan their weddings I feel utterly obligated to share our story and review of Tracy Toler and Maia Studios photography.
My husband and I were married in December (2009), we had received a referral to Maia Studios from our wedding planner. At first meeting Tracy seemed as though she was professional, skilled and very experienced in the world of wedding photography. Much to our shock and heartbreak what occurred on our day is nothing short of devastating. We had confirmed that Tracy would be assisted by an additional photographer on the day of our wedding and that he/she would be up to the same standards and quality. It was very important to us to have 'getting ready' images for both my husband and myself. His Father, who is quite up there in age spent the morning with my husband along with his Brothers and the Best Man. Not only did we express on multiple occasions that having images of Father and Groom we're important, we were assured that Tracy and her assistant would capture both of us in the process of getting ready the morning of our wedding. The day of the wedding Tracy Toler (Primary Photographer) arrived an hour late to my apartment. Due to this extreme tardiness she scrambled to rush through taking whatever images she could in 30 minutes before we needed to leave for the church. The Hairdresser was just about finished with my hair and I was already completely done with make up. 40% of the images we were given were of inanimate objects and none with my Maid of Honor who had to leave by a certain time to meet the musical director at the church. Of course if Tracy arrived at the time we had confirmed just the day before we would have never had this issue. It gets worse though. Attempting to let go that she was extraordinarily late that morning and obviously rushing through images without any real sense of intimacy in the portraits, what we discovered over two months later when we finally received the images was utterly shocking. She failed to disclose to us that ALL the images of my husband getting ready with his Brothers and Best Man, the images of them in the Hotel Lobby, in the limo on the way to the Church, even the images of my Mother and I spending time together before the Ceremony were GONE! Once we confronted her, she responded as though it was not a big deal, stating that "only about 30 photos were corrupted". Firstly, a third of our wedding day was essentially missing, leaving the defense of 30 images anything less than impossible. Because of her tardiness there were very few images of myself in the morning and now not one single image of my Husband with his Father on his wedding day. Not to mention the missing images of my own Mother and I before the ceremony. Maia Studios solution was to give us an insincere email (not even a phone called apology) and a $100 Gift Certificated at her Wedding Photo gallery from which she profits from sales. Now that the disc of images was in our hands, I quickly went to review each image one by one and discovered even more heartbreaking news. As if the morning's mishap and complete unprofessionalism wasn't enough, we now realized that 20% of the Ceremony images, 20% of the Family Group shots and 10% of the Bride and Groom Portraits were completely out of focus. What was bad news became UNBELIEVABLE. A once in a lifetime day, never to be recreated had now come and gone and the Photographer we trusted to capture the moments had not only failed to live up to Professional standards but retreated to a cold and insincere charlatan. I think what my husband and I found the most insulting was that she never had the forthrightness to come forward immediately to let us know that some images were damage/missing/whatever the real reason. It was as if she attempted to see if we would perhaps not notice. Now that we have confronted her, she has made no attempt to even phone us to apologize let alone offer any semblance of a refund considered her blatant breach of contract. I would HIGHLY suggest staying clear from this photographer. I can say now from a horrible experience that not having the photos from this once in a lifetime day is something to regret. I will never know the look on my husband's face while his Father's aged trembling hands straighten the tie of his little boy now all grown up.

Our family's experience with Maia Studio and Tracy Toler was amazing. I had seen Tracy Toler's fashion photography, so I knew my niece would be in good hands for her wedding. Tracy was totally professional and bent over backwards to please the family.
We liked her photojournalist approach, rather than just "staging" shots. Some people who want staged shots with all of the family standing on the line would not like this. Her shots captured moments that would never appear if you did photography in this way. This was truly the best experience our family and our friends has ever had with a wedding photographer. She spent time with my niece and her future husband going over her photographic approach and how she would proceed. She was warm and caring, and wanted everything to be perfect. We have recommended Maia Studio to everyone we know and will continue to do so. I have NEVER written a review before, so after reading a bad review I felt "utterly obligated" to do so. I have only heard good things from the people to whom I have recommended Maia Studio. Thank you Maia Studio for giving our family such a wonderful experience!

I am the proud father of two brides and another is about to become one. One of my daughters was married in 2005 and another in 2008. We are now making wedding plans for the third daughter. When I went online to show the Maia Studio website to one of my friends to whom I have recommended this same photographer, I discovered a scathing review of this photographer. While I have never written a review before, I felt compelled to respond with a review of my own.
Maia Studio/Tracy Toler was the photographer for the first daughter's wedding and the job she and her team did was exemplary. We loved the hundreds of pictures that she delivered. Her photojournalistic style captured the intimate details of the day. Her work was so impressive that when the second daughter got married, I gave her a call and we repeated this great experience. Now, the family has two beautiful albums and are about to add a third. When my third and final daughter has her day, you had better believe that Maia Studio and crew will be there to capture the event. I can't do justice (in this review) to the results that we have received but can only recommend Maia Studio every time one of my father-buddies mentions that his daughter is going to get married. Between my two daughters and three of my buddies, we have five wonderful experiences. I say you can't go wrong with Maia Studio.
