Lola was awesome. This was the best cake I have ever tasted. Our wedding cake looked beautiful and everyone loved it.

Lola Lovejoy is amazing! She is quite possibly one of the most sweet ladies you would ever meet and she tells you like it is. :) You are NOT allowed to shove HER cake in anyone's face. We had a monster 4 tier cake with a Bible cake in front and 2 side cakes. It was absolutely gorgeous and PERFECT!!

The cake that Lovejoys made was wonderful, it was nice and moist, and the cake tasted really good.

Lola, the owner, is such a nice lady. I was planning my wedding from out of town and couldn't meet for a tasting unless it was on a weekend. She opened her shop on a Sunday, when they are normally closed, to accommodate me. If you are looking for a cake that not only looks wonderful but tastes absolutely fantastic, Lovejoy's is the way to go!

Lola was such a pleasure to work with. I provided her with a picture of how i wanted my cake to look and when I saw it on my wedding night, it was exactly the same. This cake is the best i have ever had and I recieved so many compliments from the guests who ate it!
Whenever I came to the shop, she always provided me with free samples too :)
I keep smelling the anniversary cake in my freezer and don't know if I can hold out until next April to eat it!

Terrible job. The cake was very soggy and not worth the money we paid. The owner was crabby with us and made a huge deal when we accidently called her "icing" frosting. She had no ideas for us and wanted us to look through her books for a cake. I was very displeased. They also make a huge deal about funny cake toppers and smashing cake in each others faces. Don't even mention it or she won't let you purchase from her. She made my friend sign a waiver. As for my cake it was awful. I could have made it better out of the box.

The cake was wonderful!!! We had so many great comments about the cake. At first the price seemed a little steep, but I couldn't have asked for a better tasting cake. Lola, the owner, was wonderful to work with!

My cake was amazing and the quality was amazing as well. Lovejoy's was willing to give us whatever we wanted and their cakes are to die for! My cake tasted as amazing as it did the day of my wedding a year later!

Lovejoy's is absolutely wonderful! This was my favorite part of our wedding, everyone loved our cake. It was beautiful and she makes the most moist and tasteful cakes I have ever had. We have been doing business with her for a long time, in Des Moines' surrounding areas, she is well known. Our favorite in champagne cake, she definitely makes a great cake! People talked about the cake for a long time after the wedding. She is such a sweetheart, I would recommend her services for any thing. She sells cakes, cupcakes and amazing cookies too!

Mrs. Lola Lovejoy was the BEST vendor, out of all my vendors, to work with! I did all of my business with her over the phone, too, which was different! I first heard of her at a Bridal Show in West Des Moines. She had a few model cakes for viewing, and then some sample cake for tasting...the cake tasted like heaven! Of all the model cakes shown, there was one in particular that caught my eye: the Lots of Love cake. It's a 3-4 tier white cake (depending on the estimate number guests) with pink ribbon and white pearls surrounding each layer. There are little white hearts decorated into the frosting on the sides of each tier. I loved this cake because of the colors (even though you can choose your own colors), and the hearts in the frosting (because our wedding emblem was intertwined hearts). I decided after tasting the cake, and seeing how beautiful the Lots of Love cake looked, that I wouldn't need to meet with her at her business unless she needed me to. I called Lola several weeks later, told her I wanted her Lots of Love white cake, pink ribbon with white pearls, and told her where the reception was going to be! That was it! I regret not getting to actually see her to shake her hand--but it is my opinion that if you never have to see your vendor, then it must have been a pretty smooth transaction! She took care of everything for me, and like I said, I never saw her. She runs a great business and makes sure the delivery and pick-up run smoothly as well. I would recommend her to EVERY engaged couple for their wedding. She makes the BEST cake, well worth the money!

Lola has certain things that she won't do and will put her foot down on. Also, she doesn't like it if you call it frosting- it's icing. :)
