Favors & Gifts
I was going to use Little Laura's Sweets to bake/decorate heart-shaped cookies featuring my monogram, ultimately I did not use this vendor & here is why: communication is more than lacking-it takes almost, sometimes more, than a week to answer an email, they never answered the phone number provided on the website or returned a phone call-I called & left messages 3 times. Email is THE ONLY way you can & will communicate & hopefully you will get a response in a timely manner. 6 months prior to my wedding I got in touch (via email) w/Little Laura's & she quickly sent over a lot of BEAUTIFUL samples of cookies & treats that a bride could use for favors. I told her I wanted to use her services & she asked for my wedding colors so she could bake up specific samples for me. Three months later I never received the samples, but I wasn't upset since we still had plenty of time, so I sent her an email & she said I would have them shortly- I never got them. So, about 2 months before the wedding I really started to press her & I got stories such as "I'm pulling the cookies out of the oven & will have them in the mail to you tomorrow"...I still never got them. Ultimately, I was told that Laura got sick & was in the hospital-which I wanted to believe, but since I had caught them lieing to me before I had a hard time believing it. I'm a reasonable person & I understand people get sick, but ultimatley she runs a business & should be honest & forthright with her customers as to what she can & cannot do. I would have respected her declining my patronage, but she never did that, she just kept stringing me along. In the end I finally received emailed pictures of the final samples (not actual cookies in the mail that I could see & taste) & that was the last straw because they were TERRIBLE (looking...couldn't taste them, so I will never know that aspect)!! The cookies looked like something I could have done myself, and I don't decorate very well. They looked NOTHING like the samples she had sent me 5 months earlier. I ended up going to another bakery & paying $0.50 more per cookie, but they came out MUCH better & very tasty. I also contiue to wonder since Little Laura's was featured on Rachel Ray did she just get "TOO BIG" maybe my 110 cookie order wasn't worth it to her? Either way she could have just told me & not wasted my time.

Wedding Cake
I was really happy when I first found Little Laura's Sweets for my wedding cupcakes. The cupcakes looked cute and tasted good.
So why would Laura be the LAST wedding cake/cupcake business I would recommend? Because she lacks any and all communication with clients and, most importantly, because you won't get your deposit back! The deposit was for cupcake stands, which my coordinator returned to her. For 6 months I've been e-mailing, calling, and attempting to communicate with Laura. Her assistant finally responded to me a couple months ago and apologized for not returning my deposit. She said she'd mail me a priority check...never got it. I contacted her again two weeks later. She said to provide my Paypal info & she's send funds that way...never got it. Finally, Laura replied apologizing for the "mix up". Never saying she's refund my deposit! I e-mailed her back with all my info/address/paypal account, etc. A month later, I still haven't received my deposit! It looks like small claims court will be the only way to get my deposit back. This is extremely terrible customer service, bad business practices, and something a bride should not have to contend with- especially 7 months after a wedding!

Wedding Cake
Laura's wedding product was ok: she made cupcakes and a small wedding cake for us. She was moving from the Bay Area to Southern California while we were planning our wedding, and assured us the move would not interfere with our order, which it didn't. However, her COMPLETE lack of honesty and professionalism is what has made me rate her business so low.
She told us that for all of her clients she makes an anniversary cake, or a replica of the cake top, and gives it to them on their one year anniversary. That way we wouldn't have to save a piece of the cake in our freezer. Being the progressive, yet sappy couple that we are, we would have saved some cake as a "sweet" tradition of our wedding. She assured us that her move to Southern California wouldn't be an issue in this. About a month after our one year anniversary, I contacted her about the cake she promised in the contract. That's when the utter BS started. For 5 months I have heard every excuse of why we haven't received a cake yet: I am launching a new business I have been sick My assistant will get back to you I will have someone in SF make it for you I made it and someone drove it to the Bay Area but it got wrecked in the car. As a person with industry and catering experience, I find this ridiculous and unacceptable. She should have been honest about her inability to make the cake- i would have respected her more. Though I am disappointed about not being able to relive some of the big day a year later, the lack of the memento is not the issue: It is more the contractual promise she made and the lack of professionalism that has me so frustrated. I believed the first excuse, and then it just became laughable. If you want someone who is client focused, available, and professional, DO NOT use Little Laura. I am shocked she is still in business.
