I just had my wedding at Leonard's. My experience:
1. I was shown where my cocktail room and reception hall would be. The day of the wedding, the cocktail room was switched on me and the cocktail room didn't accommodate all my guests. People had to stand to eat their food. Their response: It wasn't written in the contract. Also, that there were empty tables as per my maitre'd.
2. The Ceremony Room - It wasn't ready until 7:20. There were people inside the ceremony room at 7:00. Please note that I planned on having my florist lay some flower petals on the floor but we were unable to do that since it seem like everything was being rushed. Note that I only had the ceremony room from 7:30 PM-8:00 PM. Their response: The agreed time for the ceremony room to be ready is 7:30PM. The guests were actually let in early. If the guests didn't get in til 7:30PM and get them all settled, after all said and done, I wouldn't have enough time to walk down the aisle have our Pastor perform the ceremony.
3. Food - The entrees didn't come out in a timely manner. Their response: It was because it was coordinated with the DJ & MC. Please note that I was already telling my maitre'd that people were getting hungry, especially the elderly. We didn't get our entrees until almost midnight (Note: Reception started at 9PM) Another reason they stated was due to the number of people doing their speeches (4 people at 3 mins each=12 mins)
4. Service - My Bridal Attendant, Lina did such an amazing job and was there with me every step of the way. My maitre'd was gone at times but he did his job. There was a couple of RUDE waitress and one waitor that made an inappropriate hand gesture that my bridesmaid saw. I would thrown him out the door if they told me what was going on. Their response:They will speak to the staff

Leonard's of Great Neck is not only the most beautiful place to have a wedding but also the most accomodating! Service was excellent. I have no complaints at all. The banquet manager (Antonio) along with the bridal attendant and maitre d's were super responsive all the time and did everything asked of them. I am still receiving compliments on the venue and service that my guests received during both the wedding ceremony and the reception. Thank you Leonard's for creating my dream wedding!!

The minute I entered the venue, I knew it was the place I wanted for my wedding. It is beautiful!! The spiral stairs by the chandelier, the spectacular entrance and the vintage decor was what did it for me:)They were quick to respond to my emails and phone calls regarding the wedding day. For the wedding day, their staff was very helpful, accommodating my guests. the bridal party as well as my husband and I of course! Their food was delicious and beverages were delightful. The wait staff was very attentive to our needs making sure we were kept happy, they even brought us a little bit of everything they were serving at the buffet for us to taste. Overall I had a beautiful wedding experience and wonderful memories that will last me a life time!

We had our ceremony and reception in Leonard's and everything was perfect. Everything from the planning , food and quality of service we received. They met our expectations. Everything was beautiful and done just the way we asked for. Our ceremony took place outdoors and they did such a beautiful job with the setting. The cocktail room and reception room were beautiful and stunning. The food was really good.We couldn't of ask for anything else. We were truly in love and happy we chose Leonard's as our wedding venue. Till this day our guest talk about the venue and food. We highly recommend Leonard's Of Great Neck.

Everything was amazing the day of our wedding!! The staff that helped us that day was more than accomodating, from the moment we stepped out of the limo there were two bridal attendants, one who carried the back of my dress the other who took my flowers who were nothing but AMAZING the entire night. They made sure we had everything we needed and were so sweet :) We didn't do anything extra for the cocktail hour except add the seafood frenzy which was a huge hit (people can't stop talking about it). The place itself is gorgeous. The only down falls to Leonards is that there is more than one event booked on the same day so you may run into another bride which isnt the end of the world and the second is that the managers are not always that great they can be a little bit snappy while yu're speaking to them...we had an excellent experience with Antonio but a not so great encounter with Ian...overall it wasnt too bad...hope that helps and good luck!!

I booked my wedding in January of 2008 for my November 2008 wedding. I met with Antonio and he seemed ok to work with. I felt like all the other managers were better and much nicer. He showed me the 2 rooms in the upper level (penthouse) where I would have my ceremony, cocktail and reception for my 250 plus guest. Getting all the stuff to the place was great and the guy that helped was glad that I had a packing list for him. He too was helpful and organized. PS. I had to have all my vendors (band, dj, flowers, etc) be insured but they let me send 3 peoples to set up the day of the wedding with all my extras that I wanted.

Day of wedding:
They totally switched my cocktail room on me without prior notice and because of that, there was a mess with the seating cards and favors being set up in the wrong place. Everyone said the food was absolutely delicious but the cake was horrible. Everything else was fine and my "matra D" (Natalia) was fabulous. She was attentive, fast and very helpful.

After the wedding:
I noticed that I was missing my guest book and I called to see if they found it and they never returned my calls.... : (

We booked Leonards in Mar 2008 for our wedding on Nov 2008. We gave an approx. min. gtd guest but as the date got closer, it was much less than we expected. We tried everything to invite additional friends but still missed the min. gtd guest by 40! Took forever to get in contact with our banquet manager! I left several messages but he didn't call me back until a week later. Then, he said he will "take care" of it. We never heard back from him and assumed that all was "taken care" of. When the time came to pay our bills, apparently we were being charged for 20, instead of 40. We were pretty upset since he didn't follow up with us. In additional, they charged all of our kids, the adult price! The food was okay, the place was nicely kept and as a bride, it was nice to have a bridal suite with food. That was a plus for the location.

I was satisfied with Leonard's. The food and the cake were delicious. Our questions were answered and concerns were addressed in a professional manner. The only thing I was not happy about was my bridal assistant. She was serving tables instead of helping me out as she should have been. Other than that everything was great!

We had a great time and the staff was very responsive. we had one waiter who was probably havign a bad day and throwing the food around but we made sure he never came back to our room. the hall was beautiful and the lobby as well as the main entrance is awesome. the food is very very good. we have been to 2 other weddings here besides our own and we loved the experience all 3 times. i would definitely recommend this place.

The food and wedding cake was delicious! Everything that we requested was delivered. The only problem we had was that the venue was fully booked and all the rooms were used, I think even the workers were confused as to where to send the guests. We saw at least three brides that day, that was something that upset me very much! Overall, I was satisfied with their service and delivery but would recommend to rent the place in a day that won't be that popular.

They pulled off an amazingly beautiful reception and ceremony for us. And the grounds are absolutely beautiful for the photos. The staff was very friendly and helpful and there when you need them but not ever in the way. Facilities were immaculate, and the bridal suite was almost good enough to have the reception in! I would have future events there, no question!

Best value in Long Island. Great photo-taking venue because of the chandelier backdrops. I rated low on "flexibility" however, because there was one special request food-wise I requested on the signed agreement, which they agreed to, but was not done correctly the wedding day. They probably didn't re-read the contract the day of and therefore just did the run of the mill instead of my small request to switch around dessert order. It was a big deal to me (hence I had it explicitly stated in the contract), but probably the type of thing that they didn't see as a big deal or weren't careful enough to take time to re-read the contract. They did, however, throw in an ice-sculpture for free during cocktail hour, which I hadn't paid for, so in the end I didn't complain. Overall I still believe Leonard's is the best value price-wise for what you get.

They were very flexible and they have good food.
