The resort was beautiful and everything came together perfectly on our big day despite the rain. There were a few glitches in the beginning with unexpected increases in service fees, and the fact that we were told the groom and his groomsmen could golf on the Friday before the wedding, and then that was revoked. Apparently you may only use the golf course on even days of the month, not odd days of the month. FYI. We also had SEVERAL problems with our friends and family trying to book their rooms. There was a lot of confusion early on, but that eventually got straightened out. It just was not what I was expecting for the Four Star resort they are supposed to be.
Lindsay Forseth was an amazing coordinator and was very professional and courteous as well as helpful the whole time we were planning.
They would have received perfect scores across the board had we not run into those glitches in the beginning.

YES!!!!! this place is absolutely amazing! the food was delicious and they took such great care of us (not to mention that it was absolutely beautiful). The room we stayed in was huge, and we felt like V.I.P's Aly (who we loved) was our original catering manager, and then just a few short weeks before the wedding she was transfered to richmond (!!!!) luckily Lindsay took care of us without missing a beat and did a stellar job. They did an amazing job, i highly recommend them

I can not begin to tell you what an incredible time I had this weekend!! Everything was perfect from the time I arrived until the time I left. Everyone at the hotel was so helpful and friendly and such a pleasure. The rooms were great the food was great and then there was the whole event. Thank you so much for making it what it was. The shuttles to ceremony made me not think twice about the weather which was really the only thing that might have put any kind of damper on the wedding. It didn't seem like a single person was remotely bothered by it. The pavilion was perfect, the cocktail hour was great and the reception was top notch. You really made me feel like I did not have to worry about a thing. The service was incredible, every time I turned around there was someone there to make sure I had everything I needed. Really I can't stop thinking about what a PERFECT night it was. Thank you for all your help through the whole planning process, the e-mails, the phone calls, everything was smooth and, well...perfect! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your help!!

Lansdowne Resort was a wonderful place to host my wedding and reception. Lindsay Forseth, Catering Sales Manager, was extremely helpful throughout the entire planning process and coordination the day of the wedding. The food was absolutely wonderful all around and my guests can't stop complimenting how delicious everything was! The banquet staff was efficient and very helpful.

We had our reception at the Lansdowne Resort clubhouse and we couldn't have been happier with our event. The ballroom at the clubhouse has an amazing terrace that overlooks the Potomac River and it was exactly what we wanted. It was a ballroom without the claustrophobic ballroom feel. We also had a lot of privacy since we were the only event at the clubhouse, which is located apart from the rest of the resort and has its own parking lot.
Leslie Coe was an excellent wedding coordinator and I would recommend her to anyone. There wasn't a request we could throw her way that she couldn't accomodate for us. Everyone at Lansdowne made our wedding incredibly memorable, gorgeous and amazing. All our guests loved the resort as well.
My only complaint, one of Leslie's assistants sliced into our cake before we got a chance to. I know she meant well (she thought it would make things easier for us), but in actuality we felt robbed. I think we could have managed to cut it ourselves without the extra help. Just a warning... wherever you end up having your wedding, DON'T let anyone do that. It'll really make you sad afterwards.

We were thrilled with Lansdowne for my daughter's wedding. Our event manager, Lindsay, was amazing. She really listened to us and managed to produce just the atmosphere we were looking for - elegant dinner/dance. She went over and above the call of duty, and she was always a responsive phone call or email away. The food was excellent, the venue was beautiful (Golf Club), and there was room for people to spread out on the terrace and in the foyers. Everyone raved - no conference fare here. I can't say enough about Lansdowne's willingness to work with us to create a superb experience.

Lansdowne Resort was a wonderful, luxurious place to hold our wedding ceremony and reception. It is a beautiful setting and the staff is excellent. We were delighted with our accomodations in the bridal suite--a HUGE room with adjoining sitting room. The food is phenomenal and the cake was gorgeous. We looked at other sites and found that theywere just as expensive and not nearly as nice.

The venue was beautiful and they were very flexible to our needs. It ended up raining the evening of the reception and they didn't have any umbrellas or golf cart etc to provide shelter when walking back to the main hotel. Other than that the coordinator was awesome to work with. She was professional and full of suggestions and ideas. The food was really good and they were good about changing menu items around a bit.
Overall, I would recommend using Lansdowne Resort!

Lansdowne was beautiful, and for the money, the best around. We got married on a Sunday to receive a discount, as well as early afternoon to reduce other costs. Food was amazing, we received several compliments on how good it was. The location for ceremony was amazing and overall the wedding was perfect!
You receive a catering/event manager as a planner, we were very pleased with most of the services, but some of the responsiveness was a little slower than preferable. Everything came together perfectly, and the staff were amazing!

Lansdowne was a picture perfect venue to have my wedding. After taking one look at the waterfall terrace I said this is the place! I did not want to look any further! The staff was very professional, especially Lindsay Forseth. She was always very polite and ALWAYS got the job done-----NO QUESTIONS ASKED! She was able to provide me with ideas when my mind was drawing a blank. If she could not answer my questions she would do a little research and find me an answer. NOW that is service!

Without a doubt I am so happy we had our wedding at Lansdowne. We got married outside and then had our reception in the clubhouse. All of our guests told us how beautiful the place was, and I agree. Perfect backdrop for our photos!
We did however, have some problems along the way. When we booked the site for our desired date we were told we could wait to "block rooms". 6 months before the wedding I got back to them and they said NO rooms were free--they were all booked up the night of my wedding! I was pissed to say the least because I had tried to handle this in advance. I must say Lansdowne did work us though, and opened up some rooms and everything turned out fine--but only after things got a little nasty.
When we had our first tasting, someone gave the chef the wrong event order and we ended up trying another couple's food. Its not that it wasnt nice to try more food (we actually ended up keeping one of their entrees we liked it so much) its just that it was a pain in the a$$ to get out to Lansdowne for another tasting...and it just went to show that someone was letting things fall through the cracks. Also, I would have thought that after the whole fiasco with the room block that Lansdowne would have been extra careful not to mess up any other things for us.
Another "problem" was that I was a little upset I was told by Lansdowne that I would be the only wedding there on my day and when it came my wedding weekend it turns out I wasnt the only wedding. Its not that I thought I SHOULD be (obviously I cant control that), I just wanted to make sure things would run smoothly with double the parties. To be fair, I must say the "actual" wedding wasnt held there, just reception (and all their guests) but I was upset that I was told point blankly "No", there is "No other wedding" when someone should have said just that..."well no, no other wedding technically but yes their guests will be staying here, and yes they will be having receptions the night before your wedding, the night of your wedding and the next morning as well." The fact that my guests kept bumping into theirs was a little annoying, but worst of all I felt blindsighted. Of course I wasnt going to let it affect MY day, but after everything that had happened (the rooms, the tasting) this whole fiasco made me feel like Lansdowne was being shady. For that reason, I think their professionalism was not 5 stars.
I dont want to just come on here and write all the bad things, so I want to end the review by saying the day of the wedding was perfect. We could not have been happier. Lansdowne made sure everything went entirely smoothly, and for that I say you get value for what youre paying. Perhaps it took all these problems along the way to make sure the actual wedding day was what we wanted!?

The first time I visited Lansdowne, I knew that that was the place I wanted to be married at (and that was before I knew I would be getting married). The Catering Sales Manager (Alyson Margoni Killian) was wonderful, and really knew what she was doing. No matter how many times I called her to discuss things with her she always had a smile in her voice. Having to plan a long distance wedding she really made me fill comfortable and assured me that I had nothing to worry about. She was always available, helpful and offered suggestions when I was too tired to think pass my nose.

We had a great time at our rehearsal lunch at Lansdowne and were very pleased with their flexibility and service. We arrived late to lunch off the golf course, which was not a problem. We also had them make a cake for the lunch which was absolutely delicious.
