We haven't had our wedding yet, but we're in the planning stages. We've booked this venue after visiting twice with Whitney who no longer works there. She was a great guide through the different spaces and showed us the variety of options for indoor and outdoor spaces. Now we're working with Erica, and we had encountered some issues covering our deposit in full after relocating to another state. She sent e-mail after e-mail to make sure we stayed on top of our balance. However, I was very appreciative of them being patient and working with us until we were able to make the final payment.
I worked with Lansdowne on a hotel block for my upcoming wedding. It has been very easy to work with them so far.
Our wedding at Lansdowne was absolutely perfect! Rachel our event manager and Hugo the banquet manager really went above and beyond to make our day flawless! It was so nice to have everything in one place and taken care of in such a professional way. The reception was perfectly timed, the food was fantastic and the cake was beautiful! I would absolutely recommend Lansdowne to other couples.
Unfortunately, our experience here was abysmal. The shame of it is that it is a beautiful location with very good facilities, but that is more than offset by the horrendous management and service at this property. Giving away our first choice reception area when we had it on hold with right of first refusal, very poorly responding to requests for communication, having us (the couple) provide liability insurance for the event, having practically zero coordination between the front desk and the spa (where pre-ceremony activities were taking place), having a catering manager show up about 25 min prior to the ceremony, getting the reception site configuration setup incorrect, failing to send amenities to our room as contracted for, and getting our bill wrong is just a sample of the many problems we had to endure.
They try to portray themselves as a five star property, but are way short of that. They try to cover their inadequacies with providing complementary items/privileges, but that is not what a world class property does.
We recently had our wedding block here and unfortunately had a horrible experience, both my Husband and I and our friends/family. I understand that it is a busy place for weddings and wedding blocks, however it is there job being in the hospitality industry (which both my husband and I both have extensive experience in) to plan for multiple events in one weekend. For the price that we and our guests had to pay was ridiculous for the quality of service and environment you receive. I have stayed in hotels around the world and visited many resorts and by far would put this at the bottom of the list. I would not consider this a resort in the least but just simply a large hotel with a golf course and spa. There was nothing luxurious about staying here.
Our first meeting there was great however it went downhill from there on out. Horrible communication and again hospitality, it's your job to anticipate your guest's needs and that was maybe the last thing they did. The rooms are dark, didn't get cleaned consistently, and in MULTIPLE guest rooms things were broken. For as much as people were paying, that is truly UNACCEPTABLE. We went to their buffet brunch, which was subpar and the service was horrendous...I would be embarrassed if I were them. When all of our issues were brought to multiple managers attention, they were anything but caring. The only thing they offered us was 2 free nights after renovations are complete...what?!?! NO THANK YOU, we will NEVER be returning here, renovations or not!
Our wedding was thankfully offsite and it went smoothly! The only thing wrong with our perfect weekend was the hotel we stayed at! I would recommend if it is at all possible STAY IN ANOTHER hotel. There are other nice ones in the area (unfortunately were unable to take our blocks at the time), try looking elsewhere first!
This facility is AMAZING. I cannot say enough great things about this venue. Also, Leslie was amazing to work with. She made the wedding planning process easy and stress free. The entire weekend was easy and stress free. We did our rehearsal dinner there along with our reception. The food was amazing and the service was even better. I could not imagine having my wedding anywhere else. I loved every second of wedding planning and the wedding itself with this venue. I would HIGHLY recommend it.
Great venue for a wedding. We had rehearsal party, wedding ceremony, reception and breakfast the day after. Food and service were outstanding. Would host another event there without reservation.
I selected Lansdowne Resort because I am local to the area and have visited the resort many times. What put the cherry on top to this perfect venue, was having Christina Gibson as my wedding coordinator over the course of my 15 month engagement. She was reliable, hardworking, dedicated to making my wedding day perfect, professional and so much fun to work with. I've gained a lifelong friend in the process for sure. As far as the presentation goes; My guests were WOW'ed when they entered the Clubhouse Ballroom. Lansdowne provided the uplighting for our reception (my favorite room at the resort) and our beautiful cake which was designed to look exactly like the picture I sent. We served filet and crab cake and everything was cooked to perfection and served hot and fresh. We had two signature drinks with our open bar package which Christina helped select..everyone loved them. The guests couldn't stop raving about the food and drinks and how stunning the total set up looked. It was a little chiller than we had planned for our outdoor cocktail hour, but Christina was able to arrange everything beautifully in the clubhouse foyer and everything looked as I had imagined it. I would highly recommend using Lansdowne Resort as your venue and urge you to request Christina as your coordinator. My wedding day was a dream come true.
Christina Gibson helped us plan our September wedding reception at Lansdowne. I’m not exaggerating when I say we could not have pulled it off without her. She was easily available every step of the way to answer questions big and small, presenting us with options and ideas that we would not have thought of otherwise. She is creative, calm, friendly, professional and patient (SO patient!). She made sure that the rest of the resort staff assisting with the reception were on the same page – the day went so smoothly and was totally worry-free. We really can’t thank her enough for all of the hard work!
Lansdowne was simply fantastic! We worked with Christina Gibbons who was incredibly professional and very friendly to work with. We have a very 'hands-on' family who wanted to be involved in every detail and Christina worked with my wife and I and our very excited family members! She handled all the details and last minute requests and really helped make the wedding a tremendous success and incredible party!
Lansdowne is an incredible venue, they took care of setting up a golf tournament for my friends and I the day before, gave us a giant, beautiful suite the night of the wedding for free (and we get a free night in the same suite on our anniversary). Every single person we worked with, from the baggage, to golf, to the pool, to the managers were so polite, friendly, and willing to help. This place gets 6 stars if possible. It was a beautiful event and the staff and venue were just perfect!
I had the pleasure of working with Leslie Eyster at Lansdowne for our wedding reception in the Clubhouse. She was always on top of things and made sure she touched base with me before I had to reach out to her. She was patient and answered all our questions and worked with us every step of the way. On the day of, everything was executed flawlessly and looked even more beautiful than we could have ever imagined! All of our guests also commented on how beautiful the reception was and not to mention how much everyone enjoyed the dinner that was served. We cannot thank Leslie and her team enough for making our wedding day so perfect!
We hosted our Welcome Dinner at Lansdowne Resort. It was one of the only Leesburg-area locations where we could fit 100 guests in one room. We enjoyed working with Christina Gibson on all of the details and timing. Lansdowne was flexible with the set-up and clean-up times as well, which we appreciated.
We chose a BBQ themed menu for appetizers and the main courses, and we were satisfied with what was served. We had a dessert table set up with an ice cream sundae bar and southern style desserts - this was a huge hit with our guests! We were set up in the Terrace Ballroom, a relatively new space for Lansdowne and a great space with lots of natural light and access to the back patio. It worked well for the size of our group, although we did have to set up a screen a certain way so that all guests could view our photo slideshow.
The downsides were the cost of the food/alcohol and the fact that the resort does not offer courtesy room blocks for guests. There are several area hotels that offer courtesy room blocks, so we had other options for the room blocks. Overall, we were happy with our experience at Lansdowne and would recommend it as a venue for large gatherings.
The staff at Lansdowne Resort is incredible! Christina Gibson was our wedding coordinator and made everything so easy and stress free, she gave great recommendations on everything; vendors, food, music, linens. It was so helpful having her opinion and when we made a final decision she made it happen with NO hassle. Millie is amazing at what she does and made everything go so smoothly during the whole ceremony and celebration. Hugo was a fantastic bartender and also waited on us during our tasting, such a sweetheart! Laura made the most beautiful, jaw-dropping, delicious cake I have ever seen, I was honestly speechless when I saw it and tasted it! We honestly feel like these people are a part of our family now, they made us feel so special. This venue is a MUST, it's beautiful inside and out and we will be reminiscing forever about it, it was absolutely our dream come true wedding.
My fiance and I considered many wedding venues in NOVA (wineries, Manors, etc.) and were very happy that we chose Lansdowne. Our ceremony was on the Potomac Terrace and our reception was in the Clubhouse Ballroom, which has a great outdoor terrace. We also did our rehearsal dinner there, in the Garden Pavilion. We liked that we could have the ceremony and reception all in one place, and that our out-of-town guests could stay there too. It made everything very convenient and eliminated the need to arrange any transportation between venues. The facilities are beautiful and elegant.
It was great that Lansdowne could handle all of the catering needs on site (food, linens, etc.) and I am glad that we didn't have to have every little thing trucked in on its own and charged for separately. The amount of food our guests received was generous and it was presented well. There were many options for customized linens and food choices, and we liked having so many options.
Lansdowne was great about helping us control costs. We got married on the early end of wedding season and were able to work with the staff on a modified wedding package that fit our needs and budget. Christina Gibson was our wedding coordinator and she was terrific the whole 9 months that we worked with her. She worked with us every step of the way and was friendly, courteous, and professional the whole time. She responded promptly and cheerfully to the many emails I sent her with detailed questions about each element of the wedding events. Our wedding planning experience went smoothly and she played a big role in making it go as well as it did.
The actual wedding day went mostly flawlessly and we were thrilled with how beautifully it turned out. I would definitely recommend Lansdowne as a wedding venue in NOVA - especially for the convenience of having everything on-site and the benefit of working with a venue that does dozens of weddings a year and really knows what they're doing in that regard.
The Lansdowne Staff did amazing things in preparing and hosting our wedding ceremony and reception. Christina Gibson, Catering Manager, was a dream to work with from day one. She always had suggestions available and always had a back-up plan for when things were not quite how we wanted it to be. She was very responsive in emails and was available to meet in person anytime we requested. She went above and beyond to make our event a very special one. Amanda Vassar, Director of Spa, was also fantastic in organizing the saloon and spa pre-ceremony events. Since we were having the ceremony and reception at Lansdowne, we also wanted to have the Bridal Party get prepared there. Amanda was able to accommodate all our needs in a very short time frame and worked with our group to make sure they could all get up-dos, make-up, nail services, and massages coordinated for the big day. Thanks to all the staff at Lansdowne for your superb effort!
