Very unprofessional with the way I was dealt with...we were told that a DJ was on hold for us, then were informed a week later that all the DJs were booked so we would have to find another DJ for our wedding. Would not suggest for any event with the lack of courtesy and professionalism shown during simple email correspondence.

We had DJ Kevin from Kirkabee Deejays for our wedding and we were extremely pleased with his professionalism and knowledge of music. He certainly knew how to work a wedding and how to keep the dance floor moving and PACKED! He would come find us if someone made a request that he wasn't sure we would like, he checked all the pronunciation of the names before we walked in, made sure we knew when things were happening, and ALWAYS kept his professionalism. DJ Kevin did a perfect job of being involved. He did not comment too much and he was not silent the entire time. Most of the night he just let the music play, which was perfect. He did such a great job, that everyone was complementing and one of our guests is going to hire him for a Christmas Party!
DJ Kevin was also great to work with, because I had some last minute changes on what I wanted played and he made sure to get in those songs! As all brides know, sometimes things take longer to get to someone, but DJ Kevin never complained or hassled me for the do not play list. It was great. He was very laid back, which kept me laid back.
Dealing with Kirk was a pleasure, we were given the contract at a quick pace and dealing with him was the greatest ease!
I highly recommend Kirkabee Deejays, and DJ Kevin O'Donahue was a PLEASURE to work with. I would recommend them to anyone! Their price was incredible as well. What a great value! What a memorable wedding! THANK YOU!

As the mother of the bride and the official wedding planner I needed to know that I could count on all my vendors. Kirk was on top of things from our very first email. His response time was unbelievable. He answered every question no matter how many times I asked it. The day of the wedding he was right on schedule. He followed the time line and had our reception flowing like it happened everyday. The music was great, easy to hear and from the first song to the last no one left the dance floor - young or old. I recommend him without any reservations.
He was polite, fun and professional with a great instinct to know what the client wants.

Kirk was our DJ and made sure every part of our day ran completely smoothly! We got started a few minutes late, which then bumped our pictures back and the schedule for the rest of the night. Kirk came to see how we were coming along and didn't rush us to get inside at all. He offered suggestions for some changes and I was so glad he did because I didn't really have to worry or think about it! He was also communicated everything to the caterer which was great. After dinner, since the times were all off he even offered us a new plan for toasts, cake cutting, and dances. I just let him do his thing, and I am so glad I did. Everything flowed smoothly and was just perfect, (which is something to say for being completely off the agenda that all vendors are working off of!!!) I really don't want to think about the mess that could have been if we didn't have someone who was as experienced and on top of everything as Kirk! He was fabulous!!!

Kirk is warm and kind and is an excellent DJ. My husband and I had many music requests and he honored them all. He not only kept us on a good schedule through the night, he treated my husband and I with much attention - offering to get us drinks during dinner, checking in with us to see how our night was going and if we needed anything, etc. I didn't even have to find the time (because when youre planning a wedding, the to-do lists are endless!), to meet with him in person because after sending him one email of our "wish list" he was on top of it and did everything we asked for! He prepares for the event and comes early to set up. His prices are reasonable. He was great at announcing when things were happening (cake cutting, speeches, first dance), and made sure guests knew when things were about to happen. Kirk also DJ'd one of my best friend's weddings a few weeks before my own and he did a very nice job for her too and added some nice touches to her wedding night. He has previously worked with my photographers - creationwaits - and they had a great flow together the whole night.

If you are looking for an AWESOME party...Kirk is your guy. We wanted a DJ that would get the party started and keep it going. When we arrived at the reception he had the place rolling and the crowd going nuts for our introduction (A MUST!). We gave him a handful of songs we loved and told him to take it from there - he is a pro and I would recommend doing the same (instead of telling him every song to play). We look forward to many more parties with Kirk as the DJ.

As soon as our wedding venue was booked we contacted Kirk to book him for our wedding. Kirk was the DJ at my sister's wedding in 2006 and he did such a great job that we wanted to make sure we got him for ours. We put together a play/do not play list that we sent to Kirk ahead of time. We told him he didn't need to stick to the playlist exactly but it was basically to give him an idea of what type of music we'd like played. He did a great job playing the songs we'd requested and added some others that were in line with what we wanted. We got comments from a lot of the guests on what a great DJ we had.
In addition to the music, Kirk was a huge help in getting everyone lined up for the introductions and making sure the timeline ran smoothly. After the ceremony when we were taking pictures Kirk brought everyone in the wedding party drinks and kept checking with us to make sure we were ok and didn't need anything. Kirk was awesome to work with and I would definitely recommend him to anyone who wants to have a great wedding reception.

Kirk did a wounderful job at our wedding, and kept our guests dancing through the night. We didn't hear as much of the type of music we would have liked, but I think he covered teh range of music necessary to please a variety of guests of all ages. He was incredibly professional and I would recommend him without hesitation - a great value compared to a lot of Djs in the District!

We had Curtiss Brown DJ our reception and we had a blast! He was very professional and obviously knew what he was doing. Our guests were out on the dance floor the entire night - I could not have asked for a better DJ!

Planning Comments: Thanks to all the wonderful reviews about Kirk on the Knot and WeddingWire, this was an easy decision. I had chosen 3 DJs that were reviewed well on the Knot and my fiancé called all 3 to ask a set of questions. He liked Kirk the best on the phone. We chose to interview him first and really clicked with his personality and outlook on the event. We also thought his price was very reasonable for this area. A bonus was that he has worked with our photog. It felt too easy to only interview one DJ but we were happy with him and sent in the contract right away. From a planning perspective, I was also extremely happy! Kirk was helpful, responsive, and professional in all our communication. He gave us a reception planning document to outline our timeline, requests, wedding party names, and music preferences. He also suggested we provide him a play/do not play list, which he followed. This gave me great confidence in his work and allowed for a stress-free experience. It was a pleasure to work with him!
After Wedding Review: Just as we expected from the reviews we had read, Kirk was wonderful! He is so genuine and friendly. It is obvious he loves his job and truly wants to make your wedding the best all-around experience, as shown by his several offers to get us cocktails and helping to find a guest who had dropped her ID and credit cards on the floor (clearly not something in his job deion). He did exactly as we wanted in terms of introductions (and correct pronunciation), announcements, keeping to the timeline, and not being intrusive, etc. He followed our guidance from our play/do not play list and played the right music at the right time; he kept the dance floor packed the whole reception. Our pictures prove how much fun everyone was having. Many of our guests (our friends and our older relatives) told us how great he was and how much they enjoyed the music. I can’t think of anything he could have done to make it better.

Kirk! What can I say.... he is the best and that is why he was at our friends wedding and we have referred all our other friend to him. He makes things run smoothly and made sure Joe and I were ok throughout the night whether it was getting us a glass of wine or coordinating the speeches... he was wonderful. Not to mentioned the dance floor was packed until the end!

We had the pleasure of working with Greg Haynes for our wedding reception. Greg was the first vendor we booked and we're absolutely thrilled with the outcome. Greg was outstanding from the beginning and absolutely flawless in his execution. Greg was patient, professional, kind, and very smooth on the mic.
If you're looking for a non-cheesy DJ who is at the top of their game and at a reasonable cost, Greg is your guy! I would HIGHLY recommend Greg for your wedding as well as other events. I'm very thankful for the way Greg handled our event.

We were lucky to have Kirk as our DJ. He was great from the first meeting until the wedding was over. Kirk provided ceremony music and it wasn't decided until 1 1/2 hours before to have it outside. Kirk was ready to go when the guests arrived. The music during dinner was soft enough so you could carry on a conversation. Kirk was great during the reception keeping the music going and getting people on the dance floor. Kirk goes above and beyond the call for a DJ making sure all your needs are met and taking care of anything and everything that needs attention. Plus the cost is very reasonable. I'd hire him again in a minute!
