My husband and I bought my (first) engagement ring at a Kay Jeweler's. They did not have anything in the style that I wanted, so we picked out a center diamond and a band and they put the ring together for us. We appreciated how they accommodated our request, but the finished product was very poor quality. The center stone moved from side to side in its setting, even after I brought it in to have them tighten the setting. Also, the smaller diamonds in the band were not all set correctly either. Since it was a custom design, we couldn't return the ring even though we were unhappy with it. Then when we went to Kay again to try to find a matching wedding band for the engagement ring, no wedding bands looked good with it because of the way they set the diamond in the band.
Eventually, we went to a smaller (not a chain) jewelry store in Geneva, IL and decided to reset the center diamond from Kay in a paired engagement and wedding ring band set from that jewelry store. The diamond is now set correctly, and my new bands look infinitely better than the original ring I had from Kay.

We got our wedding bands from Kay - we went early on a snowy Saturday morning, and had the complete attention of two sales associates. My band complimented the vintage style of my engagement ring perfectly, and he liked the modern looking tungsten band that he found. Their jewelry care plans and guarantees are great - and they will even service my engagement ring (for a fee) even though we did not buy it there. Great experience.

I really like Kay Jewelers and the good thing about them is as long as you take in your ring to get cleaned every six months it will be covered under warranty for about anything.

Kay Jewelers has always been my choice for a jeweler as well as my husband's choice. He designed my wedding ring with Kay and had a perfect experience. I will rate Kay overall as wonderful. My experience with designing my husbands band on the other hand was not the greatest. It was only due to one Kay manager that I worked with who was very unwilling to help or to listen to requests for the design resulting in a ring that was not made correctly and almost not ready for the wedding date. He was not a good manager and his employees helped work everything out with me and everything ended up ok in the end... but the manager was never willing to assist. I just feel he was one bad one in the bunch - the rest of the people working for Kay Jewelers, I have had a good experience with. If I was rating him alone and his service, I would give 0 of 5 but for Kay overall, I would give 5 of 5.

My wedding ring and engagement ring are geourgous. I love the Leo Diamond and just had to have it. I also purchased my husband's ring here and he likes it too. I didn't like that they pressure you to buy a ring, even if you aren't in love with it. They seemed to just want to make the sale. I knew I was going to get my rings there, but I just needed some time to think and they weren't as patient as I liked.

they did a wonderful job with the mounting and setting of the diamond bands we are so very happy with them!!!!!!!!

They know alot about rings and diamonds...I wouldn't shop anywhere else for my icing!

Kay has been nothing but wonderful! My (now) husband purchased a pair of earrings as well as my engagement ring from them and they were so helpful. We bought our wedding bands from them as well.

They were always friendly and informative. They will take good care of you and your jewelry for years to come!

Average at best. Poor quality ring, but the price was right.

Rings were perfect, no problems with sizing. Great value.
