Joe is the polar opposite of the typical cheesy wedding DJ. We want to thank Joe from the bottom of our hearts for all your hard work and classy DJ style. As a wedding planner in the Santa Barbara area, I was first impressed that Joe was willing to drive an hour down here in order to attend an onsite walk through before the event with me to scope out electrical sources and see the venue, discuss the timeline, etc. When he got there, he impressed me far more with his total ownership of the flow of the evening. Most DJs come in, do the music, follow your timeline and leave. Joe really felt accountable to making the evening flow as smoothly as possible. He used reason and common sense to figure out a position for him to put music out to 3 distinct areas and he guided all the toasts, timing, cake, garter, bouquet toss, heavy dancing, etc. The guests and he were having such a great time that we gave them an hour extension on their evening even, which is rare in this business, especially at an estate venue. Kudos to Joe!

When I first spoke to Joe in my initial planning stages of our wedding I knew he was our guy. He spent an hour on the phone listening, giving me suggestions and helping me in any way he could. We were originally going to get married on the Central Coast in Avila Beach, but when our venue changed to Santa Barbara I wasn't sure if he would still be an option. Re-planning a wedding venue 6 months prior as you can imagine was VERY stressful!! In my mad dash for planning I found a Bridal March by Jonathan Cain (Journey) that I absolutely HAD to walk down the aisle to.........it was then that I knew I needed the best DJ if they were going to be responsible for Ceremony and Reception.......I was going non-traditional with the music, but I still wanted class and sophistication. Joe executed our vision perfectly! He not only was the best and most professional DJ I have ever experienced, but he was an excellent and integral part of the planning and execution phase as well. He made a trip to the venue to ensure the setup was such that our "party" was a party!!! He made sure the toasts, dances and bouquet and garter tosses were done at the appropriate time....all while playing the music and executing the "vibe" we had envisioned and described. Thank You Joe for making our wedding the fairytale we dreamed of!!!

Joe was awesome! From his pre-event planning to the night of activities, Joe was fun, professional, on point, full of energy, and made our night a memorable one. We had a custom playlist for the entire event and Joe followed it to a T. Joe kept the energy high throughout. We even had an after party following our reception so our guests needed to be pumped up and ready for round 2, and Joe was instrumental in setting the stage for the festivities afterwards. Joe is easy to work with and a tremendous value. Thanks again!

Joe was a true professional. He did the music/sound for our outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, and it all went flawlessly. Not only was the music great, but he kept the night moving at a perfect pace. From his cue to start the processional to our "grand entrance" to the toasts to the cake-cutting to closing down the dance floor -- we could not have done it without him. If you're looking for a dj on the Central Coast, just make your life easy and hire Joe if he's available. You'll be glad you did.

As a person who has always imagined DJ's as the cheesy guy who says too much and plays YMCA, I was SO glad to meet Joe and see that he was the exact opposite. We had no ideas on music other than for the ceremony and Joe had a fantastic playlist that our guests were raving about. He was professional, organized, friendly and very helpful with the flow of our cermony and reception. We had a truly wonderful day and Joe was a large part of that!

Joe was such a fabulous vendor! He was so calm and relaxed during our wedding, and kept us on schedule throughout the entire night. We didn't have to worry about a thing! Joe not only coordinated the evening, but also suggested music selections throughout the planning process when we needed help! All of our guests raved about the music selection - it was just perfect for the setting and mood. He really knows how to read events and select appropriate music types specific to the guests throughout the night. Thanks Joe for helping our wedding go so incredibly smoothly!

Joe is a professional in every sense of the word. He did his job as a dj impeccably, ensuring that the whole crowd was on the dance floor and having a great time while at the same time avoiding being obtrusive or cheesy. Joe also stepped in to help in whatever way he could to make sure our wedding was exactly as we wanted it. Joe met with me a few months before our wedding at our wedding site and helped me to figure the logistics of the ceremony and reception. I did not hire a day of wedding coordinator and Joe stepped in to make sure that everyone knew where to be and was even happy to help with details such as telling everyone in the wedding party when to walk down the aisle. He listened to and accommodated all of our requests and was generally easy to work with. We can?t recommend Joe enough!

Dancing was of the utmost importance at our wedding and Joe rocked it! Our reception was tentatively supposed to end around 9 pm but due to the amazing music, we partied and danced until midnight. Joe is a relaxed guy that truly seems to care about the people getting married. We would highly recommend him to anyone.

Our wedding coordinator recommended Joe LaBarbera, and our photographer spotlighted Joe's work in his blog, the Wedding Standard. We felt very comfortalbe with Joe from the moment we first spoke with him on the phone. We were in constant contact leading up to our event, which really put us at ease. We sat down in Joe's home and planned out the details of our ceremony and reception. Joe found a special version of the bridal march (just for us) that we had some trouble getting our hands on! He provided the sound equipment for the cermony and everything ran very smoothly. Joe absolutely made our wedding reception by keeping the dance floor crowded - with all age groups! He was very professional and distinguished. He helped keep our events flowing smoothly, first dance, cake cutting, etc. Joe's work was exceptional, and we highly recommend him!

As as wedding photographer for the past 28 years I have worked at the same weddings with Joe probably 75 times. I am always quick to refer him to my clients because he is professional, tasteful and does a wonderful job of keeping a wedding reception flowing with just the right music at the right time. He is very careful to keep the attention on the bride and groom with out EVER bringing the attention to himself (which is not always the case with other DJ's).
In June my son was married and Joe was the DJ and I have to say we all thought he was fantastic! He was a great support during the planning and he absolutely made the wedding day (from the music at ceremony to the last dance) flawless!! I can truly say he made all the difference in the success of our special day and to anyone who is planning an event all I can say is, "Book Him" if he is still available.

Wow! Joe LaBarbera was amazing at our wedding a few weeks ago! My husband and I have the pleasure of working with different DJ's almost every weekend, and there is no one better than Joe LaBarbera. Joe is a classy MC and keeps everyone dancing all night long. We weren?t sure what music we wanted but Joe was great at picking out the perfect arrangement for us. We would highly recommend Joe if you want great music, a fun party, and someone who is easy to work with!
