Jan was absolutely FABULOUS to work with! She did such a great job on my wedding day makeup and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone! You definitely get your money's worth with Jan! We got together before the wedding for a trial and I loved the way she did my makeup. She made me feel very calm and comfortable! She also did my Mom's makeup and she looked gorgeous! If you do not call Jan to do your wedding day makeup you are making a HUGE mistake!

Jan provided services for my wedding day make-up application. She was extremely professional and knowledgeable. She not only listened to what “I” wanted as the bride, but provided me with make-up tips and product suggestions to enhance my wedding day look. Additionally, she provided me a lipstick and gloss sample to touch-up with at the reception. This “sample”, which was the perfect lip color for me, lasted throughout my honeymoon. I should also share that Jan was a very caring and kind professional as she saved my sister from true embarrassment. After visiting another salon for make-up application, my sister was horrified to see her make-up (done by the other salon) in the real light; however, Jan stepped right in and saved the day. While I was busy having my hair done, Jan sat my sister in her chair and fixed her look. Needless to say, my sister and I felt absolutely beautiful. Given the amount of compliments which I received (on my make-up alone) and the way that I felt as a bride on my special day, I highly recommend Jan’s services.

Jan was absolutely fantastic! She was one of my favorite vendors to work with. She was prompt and professional, and really listened to me about what I wanted, what I didn't want, and worked with me (even when I didn't realize what I was talking about!) She also did the makeup for my Mom, who really loved working with her too. Bottom line, I felt absolutely stunningly beautiful on my wedding day, and a huge part of that I owe to Jan!

I'm so glad I chose Jan for my wedding day make-up. She was extremely professional, and the results were just what I wanted - natural, fresh-looking, and elegant. She also did my mom's make-up, and I've never seen her look more beautiful. You can tell that Jan really knows her products, and has experience working with different skin (and personality) types. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to other brides.

I can't say enough good things about Jan! First off, she comes to your home for the initial trial!! After months of schlepping all over the greater DC area to meet with wedding vendors, I can't tell you what a treat it was to have her come to me! I was so happy with the trial, that I booked her on the spot and cancelled my other appointments.
Jan is very detail oriented--which I appreciated. She asked to see pics of my dress, inquired about the jewelry I planned to wear, and the location of the wedding before we started talking make-up--something other folks I'd met with hadn't bothered to do.
Secondly, she's an absolute doll! I wanted to hug her almost immediately upon meeting her. This is something not everyone might consider, but I appreciated the fact that she was calm, laid-back, and just generally awesome, which made her a pleasure to be around when I was a nervous wreck on the big day. She was also the only vendor who sent me a handwritten thank you note after I booked with her, thanking me for my business.
Most importantly, her work is amazing! I was thrilled with how my makeup turned out. I also appreciated that she told me exactly which products she was using during the trial. She gives you the lipcolor to reapply (and a brush), on the wedding day, but I was so happy with the concealer that she used on me at the trial, that I went out and bought some as well before the wedding.
I toyed with the idea of doing my own makeup, but I am SO happy that I hired Jan--she really knows her stuff. I felt glamorous without feeling overdone--it was definitely more makeup than I normally wear, but it was exactly right for the occasion. Highly, highly recommend!!

Jan was a complete delight to work with, and she truly added the finishing and polishing touches to my wedding day look. She understood my style, my tastes, and I immediately trusted her artistic touch with complete confidence. I am someone who loves makeup, and have even done friends' makeup for their own weddings. But for my own wedding day, I wanted someone with a fantastic eye (and hand) who knows how to make a bride glow both in person and also in photos. I would recommend Jan to any bride looking to feel and look gorgeous on their important day.

Jan is one great make-up artist! I have never felt so beautiful as I did on my wedding day. Everyone kept commenting on my skin and face -- telling me I was glowing, asking if I had recently gotten facial. I didn't feel like I had on heavy make-up (and didn't look heavily made up close-up), but it is obvious in our wedding photographs that Jan had really worked her magic! She is talented, professional, and keeps lines of communication open with her clients. I HIGHLY recommend Jan's services for any special day!

Jan did my makeup for both the engagement photo session and the wedding. She was an absolute pleasure to work with! I spoke to several other artists, and decided to have my trial with Jan for the engagement photo session. Immediately after Jan did my makeup, I knew I had made the right choice! I was looking for a natural, yet flawless look, and Jan did just that – she highlighted and brought out my best features, which was EXACTLY what I was looking for! A friend commented on my engagement photos: “I cannot even begin to tell you how good you looked!” Jan did a fantastic job with my wedding makeup as well; that day, I definitely looked the best I have ever looked!
Notably, unlike many other wedding vendors, Jan got back to me right away, confirmed all arrangements and showed up to the appointments EARLY!
I plan to go back to Jan for all my makeup needs in the future. She is a pro at what she does, and her professionalism and warm personality are an added bonus!

I found Jan on the internet, and met her before my wedding for a trial makeup session. I usually do not wear a lot of makeup and Jan gave me a natural look that looked great in the photos but I still felt like myself. She also did my bridesmaid's makeup (my sister-in-law) and I've never seen her look so beautiful. I highly recommend Jan to any bride or wedding party, she is not only talented but also a great person and fun to work with!

I did not use Jan for a wedding, but was approaching my 25th wedding anniversary with my spouse and wanted to improve on my look. At 42 I was seeing a bit of change in my skin and my old makeup routine was just not working any more. I was looking tired and didn't feel very attractive. I found Jan on the internet and loved her website. The almost two and a half hours we spent together during my private consultation was well worth it. She taught me some tricks with mascara that were priceless. She also recommended colors that worked and colors to avoid. When she left I felt completely transformed. My husband didn't make it home to see the outcome that night, but I was able to easily replicate it the next day. When he came home the next night he wanted to know what I had done differently - and he said my "eyes were sexy!" Quite a thing to hear after 25 years of marriage.
I have had many friends comment on the change. I will hit 43 this month feeling better than ever.
I would give Jan the highest recommendation. She is so sweet and funny. I had a blast with her and learned a great deal.

Jan did a great job with my wedding makeup. She noticed that I was a bit uncomfortable with how it looked at the trial, and adjusted it on the day of the wedding to make sure I was satisfied. She looked at my wedding hair (medival inspired, although it wasn't a theme wedding) and changed my cheek and eye color to coordinate.
She was also very sweet during the application. We were alone in the room, and she was very focused on keeping me calm. She had me put on the TV, called down to my sister's room to have her bring me food and drink, and kept up a pleasant conversation.
Jan is a bit expensive, but in the end she was worth it. My makeup looked great all day (surviving 90 degree Washington DC heat!), came across very well in the photographs, and didn't look too scary in person.
Jan is great and I highly recommend her, especilly if you are willing to spend a little bit on your makeup for the day.

Jan was great! She was a bit on the expensive side but she knew what she was doing and her experience showed. I was a bit tough on her during the trial because I am not used to wearing makeup. But after getting used to it and being all dressed up, it looked great! I had concerns about my face becoming oily on the wedding day because it did on the day that I had my trial done. But Jan took care of it and my makeup looked great the whole day! From 9 AM - midnight! And that included sweating during dancing for 4 hours.
