Although the work by Cathy is really beautiful... I had a very difficult time getting in touch with her. Her communication is really lacking and my invitations were late arriving and incorrect. She finally got everything right in the end but they went out a week later than I wanted and that was with me working incredibly quickly to address and assemble them.

I absolutely fell in LOVE with Love At First Invite designs!!!

The invitations turned out great!! She took in everything that we wanted and brought it to live on prints! We absolutely loved it. I can't wait till we hear back the responses.

That said, do keep in mind sometimes her turn-around-time can be on the slower side... our save-the-date & invitations were 2 weeks later than promised. That's a small price you have to pay for gorgeous, creative, and unique custom designs from a well-established, award-winning designer!!! (I realize that good artists are usually not the best with communication...)

I agree with some of the reviewers on this page. Although Cathy's work is beautiful and she's obviously very talented, it'd be advantageous for her to brush up on communicating with her clients in a timely manner and meeting deadlines.

I hired Love At First Invite/Cathy to create my wedding invitations and a one-page enclosure. Someone recommended her ready made designs and I quickly fell in love with them. I wasn't too picky about my invitations and figured her turnaround time would be decent since they were ready made (we just changed the font and colors). The only other items we asked her to create was a simple enclosure asking guests to RSVP on our wedding website, and outer envelopes.

Although the finished product was quite lovely, I couldn't give her a higher rating because her communication was poor. I'd be left hanging for days wondering if she even received my emails. Also, she didn't get everything to us until 6 weeks before the wedding. (Admittedly, we hired her in January for a May wedding which was cutting it close). Our wedding planner gave her a deadline of 8 weeks before the wedding which Cathy didn't meet, so she had to rush getting our invitations mailed. It caused a bit of stress on my part and I was embarrassed when some of our guests commented that our invitations were going out so late.

I was initially going to use her services for my menus, programs and other stationery items but eventually decided against it. Again, I loved her work but can't recommend her as a vendor.

Cathy does beautiful work! We loved our invitations and were so pleased with the finished product, including the beautifully addressed envelopes. However, she could use a business manager to help with the more business-related aspects of the company, including meeting deadlines, communicating proactively with clients, and ensuring that billing is accurate and timely. I wish I could give 5 stars across the board because I think Cathy is a true artist with a unique approach to wedding invitation. She just needs to work out the kinks that come with running a business.

Cathy is wonderful. She created a Quaker style marriage certificate for me. The design was incredible. She's super busy as well and I think I would have called her earlier if I had thought about it. But she is worth the wait. Her designs are heavenly. Call her. Seriously.

There isn't enough to say about how happy we were with Cathy and Love at First Invite! We did not have much of an idea of what we wanted for invitations, or how the whole process worked. She was so easy to work with and explained everything to us. It had started to stress me out until we talked with Cathy. We had specific situations and she helped us with the wording, and the etiquette advice. Not to mention she really personalized our invitations, with our colors and did custom illustrations of our ceremony ideas. I would recommend this vendor in a heart beat to anyone who is looking for custom artwork or just an experienced invitation designer to help. We are also not in California, so we worked together through email and phone and it was super easy! The shipping was fast and everything came perfectly. I'm so glad we found Love at First Invite, and that they were affordable for us! We got so much more than we paid for and really felt valued as clients of hers. Thanks again Cathy for everything! Our wedding day was that much more special because of you and Love at First Invite!

if it were possible to give this vendor a negative rating, i would. i had found this vendor on a wedding website and in the beginning things went well. we had pleasant emails back and forth and i was sincerely excited to work with them. then....they fell off the face of the earth. it took weeks to receive a response via email and they never respond to calls. you have to leave a vm and if you are lucky they may follow up with you via email. but they never call you back. we had tried to pre-order our envelopes so that we could get a jump start on addressing them but the "expedited order", which we paid extra for, took 2 weeks to arrive. we didn't receive our invitations until 4 weeks before the wedding, which was about 5 wks later than we had originally discussed and the only reason i was even able to get them then was because i followed up with them. when they did send the invitations, it was to the wrong address so i had to go to the post office to hunt them down. they offered placecards/tablenumbers to compensate us for the lack of service, however we didn't even receive those until 1 week or so before the wedding. the invitation process was a complete nightmare and what is really unfortunate is that their design was actually nice but i would not recommend this vendor to any bride. it's not worth it.

I contracted my invitations with this company last year, for my wedding last summer. My experience was very similar to that of another poster. At first I chose not to write a review, because they had a lot of great recommendations and I didn't know if mine was just a one off, but it looks like that was probably not the case. To make a long story short, they kept telling me that they would send the designs and didn't send them when they said they would. At this point, I was so scared because if I did not like one of the designs, I would be screwed due to the timing. I then asked for one option to be very specific. I even sent the exact copy of what I wanted (basically just black on white paper- very plain, classic, non embellished). I don't know if she wasn't reading my emails or what, but she completely disregarded what I asked for. She never even sent this option. When I finally got the designs, I panicked because they were not what I asked for at all. At this point, it was around a month before the invitations were supposed to go out. I was in real trouble. They offered to go back and fix things, but really, it was too little too late. Where were they before when I needed my concepts?! I couldn't take the chance again so I just said I wanted my money back. At that point, I realized that when they had been going back and forth changing my contracts around in the beginning, adding and subtracting insert cards, etc, for me, they also changed a clause in the contract about getting your money back.. and I didn't read the fine print of the subsequent contracts so I never realized it. What a mess. So, I didn't get all of my money back.. I just cut my losses rather than trying to work with them again.

Cathy and Jamie at LAFI are fantastic! Cathy's creativity, professionalism, and work ethic make her the best wedding designer around. Thank you, both, for helping us with the wedding of our dreams.

Cathy was recommended by my photographer and I'm so glad that I was able to have her do my invitations. When the design process started I didn't really have a set idea of what it was I wanted, but after answering the questionnaire and seeing the results I was thrilled! The style/feel of the invitations captured us completely (without ever meeting). I highly recommend using her--you'll be so happy that you did!

I was very lucky to be able to have Cathy design my invites and programs. We came in with information on our wedding colors, an example of another invite we liked, and she designed the PERFECT invite for us. She is extremely talented.
She was very communicative, and was always quick to offer solutions to little blips in the process.
She's become so popular, you have to sign up with her months before your wedding, but it is SO worth it!

Cathy's designs are without a doubt the best around. She is a very talented artist and is very easy to work with. I describe her design for our invitations etc as if she were able to get into my head and create what I wanted, without me having the creative ability to do so. I LOVED all my work from Cathy and it all contributed to the overall feel of our wedding. I highly highly reccomend using her.
