Our reception at the Indigo Landing was exquisite. The service was excellent and very professional. From the early stages of the planning to the night of, the staff was very helpful and proficient. They treated us with respect and pampered us the whole night. There was always someone there to help with whatever we needed. The food was great and delicious! It was always nice and hot and ready to eat. We had a lot of special food requests and they worked with us to make it happen. Everyone still talks about how much food we had and how delicious it all was. I’m going to be honest and say I was a picky bride and Brenda & the team @ Indigo Landing made all my wedding dreams come true.

Indigo Landing is a beautiful venue for a wedding reception, it is in a marina on the Potomac and it overlooks DC. At night, the beautiful DC skyline twinkles. One of the perks of having a wedding reception at a restaurant (especially Indigo Landing) is that you have less moving parts (read: less vendors to deal with and coordinate with). Food, venue, cake, alcohol, and rentals were all handled by Indigo Landing. Katherine Turner, the Private Dining Manager, is there to assist you throughout the process and answer any questions you may have. She was very responsive to emails, especially during the weeks leading up to the wedding when all the last minute pieces fall into place. Katherine managed the time line during the reception, tracked me down for dances or cake cutting to make sure we stayed on schedule. The food (crab cakes and beef tenderloin) were delicious and we received numerous compliments from our guests. I couldn't be happier with how smoothly the evening went and would highly recommend having a wedding reception at Indigo Landing. My only complaint is that our wedding was not earlier in the fall (when it's warmer at night) so we could have enjoyed the beautiful decks and the city skyline more!

the restaurant setting is beautiful, no doubt. but working with the event planning staff was a nightmare! the woman we worked with would tell us one thing, then later tell us something completely different, and when it came down to the week of and we were finalizing details, she gave us completely different information. nothing was in writing, as far as the details. they initially said they could do whatever we wanted, but in the end all we heard was "no" or "we can, but there will be an extra charge." our final bill was all wrong. the staff were not present when we came to set up. they refused to plan the space according to our guest count and guest needs. the staff made excuses for their mistakes. the food was not the same as what we had at our tasting. it was one little problem after another and it all added up to a giant headache. I don't think our guests noticed much of the problems at the reception, but it was not worth the stress of working with the event planning staff.
if you plan to have a wedding here, BEWARE, and get EVERYTHING in writing.

I had my reception here. Leading up to my wedding, I was very excited about Indigo Landing. We had eaten there before, and loved the food. The lady who I was in contact with for my wedding was very responsive and flexible, helping us come up with the perfect menu for our budget. The day of the wedding, however, was less than ideal. Our server was rude to all of the guests except for me (I guess she thought I wouldn't notice that?) They were one plate short when dinner was served, and didn't really apologize for it. My uncle was sitting right across from me, and when they finally did bring him his plate, they literally slammed it down in front of him. I had given them my cake pedestal to put the cake on. My entire wedding was designed around this cake pedestal, so it was a very big deal to me. They either made the cake days before my wedding, or didn't bother to look at my pedestal, because they made the cake too large. So they put it on a tin foil covered plate, and put that on my cake pedestal, so you then couldn't see it at all. I really was not pleased.
