We had a wonderful wedding at the hotel congress. Nora Jean Miller was our event coordinator and she was so incredibly helpful and could clearly see that she has been doing this for quite a while. She put our minds at ease and catered to our every need and request. She even gave me her personal cell phone number for any questions or help that I needed before our big day.
The only problem I had was that we didn't have a very good designated area for dancing. We saved a lot of money by skipping the DJ and made our own playlist on an iPod. They had a sound system where we were able to connect it too and it sounded great. They also had a microphone which we were able to used for speeches and toasts. But when it was time to start dancing, we had to ask two tables to bump over and I guess this was some people's cue to start heading home because some people left before our first dance and to get everyone else dancing. So I wouldn't recommend this place for people with a relatively large party where you couldn't move people over. We also had kind of a short time limit (for our budget) so even if we had paid for a DJ it definitely wouldn't have been worth it. By the time we would have started dancing, we wouldn't have had much time left. In the end, it worked out great and I am thankful for all their help and professionalism.

This was the greatest decision we made. It was reasonably priced. The staff was amazing, professional, and patient. The venue was positively lovely, we didn't need hardly any decorations, saving us a bundle on floral, etc. And it was one-stop shopping; we took care of our ceremony and reception venue, catering, bartending and all table settings, set-up and break-down, etc. were included in the final price. It was like bundling internet, tv and phone. Saved a ton of time and money not having to track down and fuss over all the little details. The catering/event manager was awesome. She is one of my favorite people, and really helped everything go off without a hitch. I couldn't recommend the Hotel Congress more.

The event planner here is a godsend — it's like she can read minds. She is incredibly helpful, informative, and kind, and keeps on top of all the little details (even the ones we didn't realize would exist). I would go out of my way to work with her again, and would highly recommend Hotel Congress to everyone I know for any event. The food and drink was top notch, as well — I was pleasantly surprised to discover that our bar was stocked entirely with top shelf liquor. The room itself is gorgeous, and they are very flexible about set up. Now I know why they have such a steallar reputation — it's very well deserved!
