We also had quite an experience with HCC. We first booked our wedding in July 2010 when Angie was still there, she was great to work with. Everything went down hill after she left. They had three different coordinators during the year we were working with them to plan the wedding. Our contract was signed, then all the prices went up,the cake vender was changed, the bridal party reception room we were promised was given to another party and they tried to put it in an office with printers, copiers etc. Telling us "we should be happy with that because they don"t have to offer the extra room"! I had to fight for all of this but still had to pay the charge they raised for "service fees". The reception food was not on par with the taste testing, our guests were seated and had to wait for half hour before the bridal party was introduced,then the meal was an hour late! The coordinator became rude Because I was asking for what was in our contract.
To be fair, we did have our own day coordinator for the day but they did not work together. Mary was really in charge of the days schedule.
The last few months before our wedding were very stressful. Something I would not expect from HCC.
Perhaps by now they have things going more smoothly.

Hershey Country Club is hands down one of the most beautiful clubs out there. Great indoor and outdoor space. They're easy to work with and the food is creative and top notch. Huge fan of their cocoa crusted tenderloin! I started with one banquet manager and ended up working with her replacement, Mary. Mary was very accommodating, always professional, worked with my crazy ideas, friendly, and patient. Can't say enough good things about her and the staff.

We had such a mixed experience that I wish I could write two different reviews for the HCC- one from before Mary started and one for after. I'll do my best to briefly summarize our experience. We booked the HCC in November, while Angie was still working there. Shortly afterwards we received word that she was leaving. Everything then went down hill. There was no one officially in the new role yet, therefore no one really knew what was going on with our wedding. Our quotes were wrong MULTIPLE times (it was ridiculous actually). Taxes, member discounts, etc were consistently incorrect. It caused us so much stress that I wished we had booked elsewhere. Then Mary was hired and came in to save the day! She was fabulous, even while new and learning the ropes. She was great to work with and especially flexible since we live out of state. Our actual wedding day was amazing and much of that is due to Mary's effort. The food, ambiance, staff, etc. were great and guests raved about them. I would work with her again in a heart beat (just make sure you triple check your bill!)

The reception turned out perfectly! The wait staff who worked our wedding was amazing. I am a member and knew most of them so it was great and they truly went above and beyond to assist me and my guests.

Beware that you do have to find your own baker because they discontinued their contract with the baker they had, which happened during the middle of my planning. Thus I had to begin working with the individual baker, but the baker did an amazing job. The one snag about this location was we began working with Angie, who was amazing, but they have a new coordinator who is not as responsive, but still did a great job the night of to make everything run smoothly. She did end up doing a great job of communicating with me during the reception because there were a few things that needed to be switched (we decided to do our cake cutting a little earlier and the coordinator did a good job of making that happen).

We absolutely loved our wedding at the Hershey Country Club, so the overall star rating may be misleading. The reason they did not score higher is that the club went through 3 different event coordinators during the year we were planning our wedding, and when one would leave or come on board, we weren't kept in the loop. However, once the third and final coordinator was hired, everything fell into place and she was wonderful. The food was good, the venue looked beautiful, and the staff was great.

The Hershey County Club was a wonderful choice for our wedding reception. We were in the Keystone Ballroom, which has an amazing view of the golf course and looks so very elegant inside. Additionally, with the ballroom we were basically reserve the entire back section of the club house, including a separate room for cocktail hour and a lovely lobby area for mingling.

The staff at the HCC were wonderful! They were so accomodating, responded quickly to emails, and did everything in their power to make our reception exactly what we wanted. Leading up to the big day, they were incredibly organized and kept us on-track. The day of our wedding, they were incredibly attentive, checking on us all evening to make sure we were having a great time. They handled a few minor dramas presented by our guests fantastically (we didn't even know there were issues!). Everything was professional and elegant.

The only negative thing we could say about our experience was that the food was not on-par with our tasting (which was astounding). Obviously, cooking for 150 people is different than making a tasting for four, but we were a bit disappointed with the contrast between what we were served at our tasting and what our guests ate the day of the wedding. The food wasn't bad per se, but just not the amazing wow factor we experienced originally.

I cannot say enough good about Angie and the Hershey Country Club! They made our experience fun and worry-free! The food was amazing and they were so accomodating, changing our meals around from what they usually do. I was planning on using the day before the wedding to get the reception venue decorated and ready, but Angie took all the favors/decorations/seating chart/placecards and set it all up for me! They were so nice to work with!

We held our wedding reception at the Hershey Country Club and LOVED every minute of it. They did an incredible job with our cocktail hour (with a separate private cocktail hour for the bridal party) and the rest of the evening was amazing. The catering was fantastic - we had an appetizer, salad, and main course, and they also did our wedding cake which came out exactly as I hoped (I had provided a picture of a cake I liked and they did an exact replica!) The staff was very receptive. We had a wedding coordinator who checked in with me several times during the evening to make sure everything was going well. We had a minor issue with the dining room being warm, but they did everything they could to max out the A/C and the problem was resolved. The 18th hole provided a beautiful backdrop to take outdoor photos of the bridal party.

Now that the club has been renovated I am sure it is even more beautiful than it was back when I had my reception there. I would highly recommend the Hershey Country Club to all brides out there seeking a very memorable reception venue.
