Beautiful Venue! We were able to make our wedding unique and very memorable at this site!

Simply Amazing! The ballroom and theatre were beautiful and gave us the romantic elegant feel we were looking for, however that wasn't even the best part. We booked Johanna as our officiant and day of coordinator and it was the best decision we ever made. Johanna went way beyond anything we could have wished for. All the stress from an extremely complicated service was lifted off our shoulders. My wish was her command and she executed all my hopes and wishes better than I had imagined in my head. She even went to Portland for me not once but twice! No matter how many emails I sent or questions I had she was so very happy to assist. I never felt like I was bothering her. She charges a fraction of what she is worth. In fact she is priceless. So whether you book at the Grand Theatre and Ballroom or anywhere call Johanna Respini with An Event To Remember it will be the best decision you will make. And don't forget to ask about rentals They have everything from Linens to the Candy Buffet and they charge a fraction of what rental companies charge!

The ballroom is absolutely gorgeous! It was the perfect backdrop for everything.

Both the owner and the office administrator were pretty easy to work with, and fairly flexible regarding access to the site and adjusting details throughout the process.
The downsides- because this is a historic building, there are definite rules as to how you can decorate (i.e. painters tape, no tacks), and while there is a pretty decent sound system in the main seating area, there are no speakers in the actual ballroom. It shouldn't be an issue if you are bringing in a dj, but as we didn't, this was a little annoying, since people sitting in the ballroom couldn't really hear any music or the toasts
Overall though, a good downtown location with good rates--When you consider that you don't have to pay extra for things like tables, chairs and access to parking at the Marion County Courthouse , it's a pretty great value!

My partner and I looked at many different venues and The Theatre and Grand Ballroom fit all of our needs. We felt like we were getting a lot of room and amenities for our money. Carol and Johanna were great to work with, very flexible and accommodating. Everything with the Theatre and Ballroom was perfect. I would HIGHLY reccomend this venue for your next event.

This venues is very beautiful. It's kind of on the high price but its a great place because the ceremony and receptions is all in one place. Also you don't have to have it catered, or use any of their vendors so they are pretty open to that. The problem with this place is that they say they will set up the reception area and for my wedding we said we would rather set it up ourselves just so we can make it perfect. The lady that was working there was very rude because she said that this was her job and she didn't know why we had to do it. She also had put all the linens on the table the night before without steaming them, therefore all the tables had wrinkled linens on them. It took us 2 extra hours to steam them. The day of the wedding no one bothered us and that was great. But while we were on our honeymoon the grand ballroom called and said we had ruined 9 tables with the steamer and it was going to charge us $11,000 to our insurance. Well we never used the steamer on the table and the tables to begin with were filthy and marked up. We ended up not getting charged because we asked if they used them the next weekend and they said yes so therefor they were still usable. The next day the lady called and said we stole her scissors! Really? Anyways it is a beautiful place but the people try to get money from you any way they can there to fix up their place.

Choosing the Grand Ballroom and Historical Grand Theater was by far one of the best decisions we made while planning our wedding. The management was easy to work with, accommodating, and knowledgeable; but most of all they really cared about our individual experience. They helped us connect with some fantastic service providers that made our special day even easier. The theater and ballroom itself is an amazing backdrop for an unforgettable wedding experience. The simple elegance of both the ballroom and theater makes the space adaptable to most any feel you desire for your wedding, and thanks to the understated grandeur of the venue you don't need to go overboard with decorations to achieve the splendor most every bride desires. We rented both the theater and ballroom which provided us with a flawless blending of convenience, beauty, and affordability; unmatched by any other venue we looked at. The Historic Grand Theater and Ballroom was the perfect pairing for our wedding.

Beautiful place that needs very little decorating. It was perfect for the wedding I always dreamed of.

Our experience was good. Cost was a little high after all the added cleaning fees that were added.
We were married in the theater and were required to use a specific sound person who was absolutely awful--totally ruined the music during the ceremony.
Overall pretty recommendable. The building is lovely!
