I probably can't say enough nice things about Francis. First and foremost, he is an amazing artist and captures the best moments with his camera. They are the kind of pictures you want to look at again, and again, and again. And then some more. He is an extremely wonderful person and businessman, who puts everybody around him at ease. My husband was really hesitant about taking engagement pictures, but we had the best time because Francis has a magical way of making it fun, relaxing, and easy. On the actual wedding day, he was prompt, thorough, and was able to capture the excitement, love, and joy of the day, while catching all the little details without ever being "in the way". We highly recommend Francis, he is the BEST photographer!

So if you've spent any time at all research wedding photographers in the Austin area, you've already discovered that there's about ten bajillion of them to choose from. We chose Francis based on the creativity and natural ambience of his portfolio, and the obvious amount of care that he puts into every single photo. His photos are beautiful without looking overly Photoshopped, and even the posed photographs have a natural look to them. Our photos are amazing, and we have absolutely no regrets on that choice.

One piece of advice when it comes to comparing photographers - do ask to see an entire portfolio from one or two weddings. Some photographers only really edit a small portion of photos from each wedding - and those are the ones you see on the blog. The rest of the wedding photos don't look all that different from the photos you'll get from your friends and family. The difference is even more obvious with venues that don't have a whole lot of lighting. Francis showed us a sample portfolio with hundreds of photos, and it was obvious that every single shot was equally well done.

A note on budget - We also did an engagement session, which I do consider to be a bit of a splurge. We're both pretty camera shy, and I do think that the experience helped us relax more in front of the camera on the wedding day. And we love absolutely love having photos of us in normal nonwedding attire. So for us it was worth the extra cost, but for others it might not be.

Back to Francis - He has been super responsive over email, which made planning out of town easier! He helped us pick out fantastic locations for our engagement shoot, and came up with really creative ways to use the props that we brought along. The engagement photo session was about 2 hours at 3 locations, and he was pretty good about being encouraging and helping us relax through the awkwardness of being photographed out in public in all sorts of cuddly/kissy positions. (Not really a common experience for most of us!) We received about 100 pictures a few weeks later, which we absolutely love. He was a hero about pulling together our guestbook on short notice. (The short notice was due to our own memory lapse, not his!) On the day of the wedding, he and the videographer were very professional about maneuvering around each other. The sneak peek photos were up on his blog within days, and the full set of photos was ready in less than 2 months.

Francis was the only photographer we interviewed and we know we made the best choice. We met him and were impressed with not only his great work, but how he really took an interest in understanding us and what we were looking for. He has great ideas and combined with his talent makes Francis a phenomenal photographer. My bridal and wedding portraits will forever be great memories!

Oh gosh, where do I even begin? Francis was cordial and prompt with e-mails before the wedding. He came up with so many great idea, it was like he was reading my mind! My family kept coming up to me during the wedding to remark how polite and professional he was. The photos are absolutely amazing, and he made us look like rockstars! The more I look at them, the more I love them. I would highly recommend Francis!

Fun & Creative!

My husband and I REALLY enjoyed having Francis as our photographer. Throughout the process he became a friend of ours that we hope we keep in touch with for a long time! Francis' work is nothing short of amazing, our family and friends still rave to this day about the photos from our engagement session & wedding. He is so professional- and willing to go above and beyond to make your day truly special and stress free. Francis was absolutely wonderful and the photographs are outstanding. He made the bride (my daughter) feel totally comfortable and relaxed. My husband and I are from Vegas and therefore I needed a photographer that was willing to accomidate my schedule. Francis was so flexible that he was willing to meet me Easter morning at 7am to get my shots before I flew out that evening. When it rained that day he called everywhere to find a place to shoot. Unfortunately nowhere was open but Francis was willing to shoot my bridal portrait 3 days before my wedding and I had my 16x20 bridal portrait and other prints for the wedding ready for me the next day. I cannot say enough about Francis!

I knew I would be happy with his work but I did not expect to be floored. I feared that I made a mistake by not hiring a videographer as well, but those thoughts vanished once I viewed shot after shot of authentic and intimate moments captured forever. Nothing was missed and the attention to detail is excellent. He is unmatched in his professionalism and care - and he listens, which is so important. I understand that he is getting busier and busier these days and I'm not at all surprised. Moral of the story is, contact Francis if you are looking for wedding photos that your great-great-great grandchildren will fight over. He does not disappoint!

Francis took the time to really get to know us. He wanted to know our personalities, how we react to him and the camera so that our wedding day and photos could be the very best.
