I was extremely pleased with my dress shopping experience at Ferri Formals. I worked with Patti, and she was very intuitive about what dresses I would like, as well as what bridesmaid dress would go with it. Everyone was extremely kind and attentive throughout the entire dress process.

That said, the day I went to pick up my dress the store lost my veil. I needed to leave for the wedding location that day, but asked them to please call if the veil was found (they did allow me to take another veil of my choosing with me). Two days later I received a phone call claiming they had found my veil. However, when I saw the veil that was supposedly mine, it was definitely not. It was not even the same color as my dress! They had simply written my last name in a tiny spot on the price tag to make it appear that it was mine. They let me take yet another veil, which finally did work, but it was not worth all the stress I was put under three days before my wedding. Plus, I now have to go out of my way to return three veils

I loved my bridal gown from Ferri's. The bridal suites were private and very spacious compared to other bridal salons in the area. I also found my bridesmaids' dresses at Ferri's. The people were very nice and allowed me to have several fittings. The dresses were very affordable; however, the alterations were pretty expensive. I was a little disappointed that they charged me when I had to get my gown taken in a second time. Especially when the bridesmaids and I had already spent quite a bit of money on alterations at that point. That was the only reason I could not give them 5 stars for the value. I would definitely recommend them to other brides out there.

I went to Ferri Formals not with the intention of finding a dress, but merely to try on dresses to see what I liked. Little did I know that I would find my dress in the first 10 minutes. Erin was there to help the entire time. Once I found my dress, I held off for a while before purchasing. I got a call from Erin weeks later saying the dress was 50% off!! Score! I bought the dress the next day, and started my search for bridesmaids dresses. Erin was a huge help with that process, finding swatches and searching for the perfect color and ultimately the perfect dress for my girls. Myself and a few of my girls got their alterations done at Ferri as well and were more than happy with the results! Everyone was a pleasure to work with, and I would do it all over again!

Ferri's was the most phenomenal place to get my wedding dress. I worked almost exclusively with Erin there and she made my experience phenomenal with her creativity, spunk and charm. She even got teary eyed when I picked up my dress a couple of days before my wedding because we had gotten so close over the past year. Everything was always in on time or before. They also do a great deal for you by getting your dress, BMs dresses and tuxes there. Who doesn't like to save money??

Definitely worth checking out, as I got my dress for 50% off!

After searching at another chain store I decided to check out Ferri's on a whim while my mother was in town to visit. I wasn't planning on finding MY dress that day but I did. Penny & all of the staff were great from day 1! My mother, my mother in law, and my bridesmaids all ended up getting their dresses here as well. The mother's had a fantastic time & only good things to say. My Maid of Honor had some difficulty with the alterations and having to return from a distance (Saratoga) to have them redone. Our BM dresses did seem to run much larger than usual for the Jordan brand...they turned out lovely in the end though. I had a pretty smooth process. After 2 fittings my gown fit me perfectly & I got a great deal! The wedding turned out beautifully and EVERYONE kept asking where I got my dress/veil! Thanks for everything ladies!! I plan on sending pics soon.

I bought a Vera Wang wedding gown from Ferri Formals and Bridals. My bridesmaids also picked a dress out from there. I was so unimpressed. They told me a swatch of my bridesmaids' dress would be there in 2 weeks. 4 weeks later it still wasnt there. I called multiple times and they kept ensuring me it would arrive. Finally one day I had a bit of an attitude with them and they said oh miraculously it was there and I could come get it! I showed up and they had ripped the swatch out of the book they had in stock and stapled the tiny piece of fabric to an index card. They scheduled me for a fitting and then when I showed up for it they said it wasn't for another hour (it was definitely scheduled for the time I showed up). During one fitting one of my bridesmaids went to try her dress on (which should have been altered) and it wasn't altered at all. It still had all of the pins in it from the last fitting. They scrambled to do the alterations in 20 minutes. They told me numerous times that I was flat chested (I am but I don't need a stranger shoving it in my face!). These are just a few examples of the disappointing service I received there.

Ferri Formals has a wide selection of dresses in a range of prices and styles. Make sure you call to double check on everything - the answer you get may depend on who answers the phone. I bought my wedding dress there and ended up ordering the bridesmaids dresses and groomsmen tuxedos through them for which they gave a discount.

I bought my dress a day or two after their sample sale, and they still gave me the 50% discount! I had to take the dress with me that day, and take it elsewhere for alterations. They referred me to a seamstress for alterations, and she did a great job. They had many dresses in my price range (less than $1500), and the girl who helped us was friendly and accommodating. The shop is a little old school. We weren't allowed to take pictures of the dresses, and the girl who was helping us had to come in the fitting room with me.

I had a hands down fantastic experience at Ferri Formals & Bridals. No matter what time of day or what day of the week - everyone was always extremely helpful, friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make sure I was not only happy but thrilled with my dress. I was picky - I wanted something somewhat trendy, but to still feel like a traditional bride. Given the incredible selection at Ferri Formals, I found it! I was a size 4 when I went for my first fitting and still lost about ten pounds before the wedding - I was worried about the alterations (I had also requested a few changes to the dress on top of being a smaller size). My mom and I were so impressed by the professionalism and talent of the seamstresses. This store offers a wonderful selection of designers, styles and a wide price range. I work nights and occasional weekends - so I found their store hours (open 7 days a week, which is very rare) extremely convenient. The women in the store truly helped to make my wedding gown experience one I will always smile about and never forget!

One of the most difficult parts of planning a wedding is choosing a Bridal Store and making a decision on the gowns. Our choice of Ferri Formals was perfect. At our first appointment we were given many choices and options. My daughter tried on many dresses and also tried some from the sale rack. One of those turned out to be the dress she fell in love with. We were in no way pressured not to buy the dress on sale, even though it was a definite bargain. We were given the name of a seamstress to use for the alterations who was a delight to work with. The dress was absolutely gorgeous. Most of the other girls in the bridal party were from out of town. My daughter chose the style and color of the dresses and her attendants called in their measurements to the store and the gowns were ordered. The girl that lived locally had her alterations done on site and the girls from out of town were able to have their alterations done where they lived. We had many questions about the arrival of the gowns as the wedding day approached and were always contacted with the information we needed in a prompt and courteous manner. Shop is overcrowded, unkempt and even the Vera Wang floor is less than stellar which disappointed since they emphasize being the only carrier of Vera in upstate NY. I went elsewhere for my gown.

I did end up getting the bridesmaid dresses here because they offered the cheapest prices compared to stores near me in Boston. Only trouble is they ordered the wrong size for my sister-in-law and refused to replace it; we had to pay for another dress with only a minor discount to acknowledge their mistake. BUYER BEWARE!

I had a very good experience at Ferri Formals. I purchased my dress during their half price sample sale last summer, and I definitely got a deal. I am not a typical sample size, so I was very pleased that they actually had dresses in my size. They weren't at all pushy in my experience either. I was looking at Vera Wang dresses, but wound up with a no-name dress that I fell in love with. It was a fraction of the price. My only complaint is that they would not put a bustle in my dress and I had to go to an outside vendor, who they recommended and who frankly charged me a bloody fortune.

I actually found my dress in Manhattan (where I reside) but was married in the Albany area and wanted to get my dress up there. Well - I called Ferri after going there for my first dress shopping outing and asked if they carried the one I had fell in love with in NYC. Well - they did not but they called their buyer and he/she was able to order it. And they matched the price! I also found my veil and headpiece there. We also rented the tuxedos and bought the bridesmaids dresses there. They were so sweet and nice enough to fawn over me when I tried my dress on for final fittings. They are an extremely sweet and helpful group of women. Highly recommended.

Ferri had one job for my wedding....to provide the flower girl dress which was paid and ordered nearly 5 months in advance of my wedding. They failed to do this.

My major problem with them was the complete lack of communication with the mother of the flowergirl and with their own staff. This led to my friend getting several different answers each time she called. Less than a week before the wedding (after 6 weeks of them promising the dress was on its way) there was still no dress, and the staff could not understand why we were worried. They do have beautiful gowns (the flowergirl dress was a beautiful Kristie Kelly dress) but for $250 for a flowergirls dress, I would have expected better customer service. My friend was refunded her deposit, and we purchased a lovely flowergirls dress 4 days before the wedding at Burlington Coat factory (believe it or not!) for $25 where we received exceptional customer service.

I had a wonderful experience at Ferri Formals. Working with Marylu was a pleasure. She was so kind and helpful and gave me the exeperience that every bride deserves. My mother lives out of state and was not able to make it to the shop but Marylu and the rest of the staff were so warm and welcoming. I purchased my dress along with five bridesmaids dresses and three flower girl dresses and they all look beautiful. If your looking for a good bridal experience, I would definately recommend going to Ferri Formals!

We’d done almost all the Capital District prom dress shops, plus the internet and even been to London and Paris,somehow overlooking the local specialist shop. By the time we got to Ferri Formal, we gave a stern –“we’re just looking” they let us look, un-hassled. I quickly realized this was the best selection we’d seen in our price bracket ($200-$800). I was impressed by the quality workmanship and sumptuous materials, beating internet and other shop’s prices. Thye also had the best priced sales rack I'd seen. I relaxed on the chaise longue allowing my picky prom princess to scrutinize. After leaving we agreed that this was the shop.

We went back 3 or 4 times with me playing the difficult customer; each time, the staff, from Miss to Madame, were extremely nice. I saw a selection of people come and go, with no hint of discrimination from the staff on budget, age, size or race. Some were repeat satisfied customers but everyone received the same courteousness. It was obvious that the staff were experienced in catching on to the desired look and what suited. The ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ and ‘do you like that?’ were genuine, with no overbearing push to make a sale. One busy day became a boudoir fashion show, we were having a ball, with the mature customers modelling tips on presentation. It was how shopping should be. It was great experiencing the different tastes and styles, while of course everyone ended up looking happy and beautiful.

Parting with the dress through donation will be difficult- but then, Ferri Formal are bound to have something for Senior Gala!
