I actually found my dress in Manhattan (where I reside) but was married in the Albany area and wanted to get my dress up there. Well - I called Ferri after going there for my first dress shopping outing and asked if they carried the one I had fell in love with in NYC. Well - they did not but they called their buyer and he/she was able to order it. And they matched the price! I also found my veil and headpiece there. We also rented the tuxedos and bought the bridesmaids dresses there. They were so sweet and nice enough to fawn over me when I tried my dress on for final fittings. They are an extremely sweet and helpful group of women. Highly recommended.

Ferri had one job for my wedding....to provide the flower girl dress which was paid and ordered nearly 5 months in advance of my wedding. They failed to do this.

My major problem with them was the complete lack of communication with the mother of the flowergirl and with their own staff. This led to my friend getting several different answers each time she called. Less than a week before the wedding (after 6 weeks of them promising the dress was on its way) there was still no dress, and the staff could not understand why we were worried. They do have beautiful gowns (the flowergirl dress was a beautiful Kristie Kelly dress) but for $250 for a flowergirls dress, I would have expected better customer service. My friend was refunded her deposit, and we purchased a lovely flowergirls dress 4 days before the wedding at Burlington Coat factory (believe it or not!) for $25 where we received exceptional customer service.

I had a wonderful experience at Ferri Formals. Working with Marylu was a pleasure. She was so kind and helpful and gave me the exeperience that every bride deserves. My mother lives out of state and was not able to make it to the shop but Marylu and the rest of the staff were so warm and welcoming. I purchased my dress along with five bridesmaids dresses and three flower girl dresses and they all look beautiful. If your looking for a good bridal experience, I would definately recommend going to Ferri Formals!

We’d done almost all the Capital District prom dress shops, plus the internet and even been to London and Paris,somehow overlooking the local specialist shop. By the time we got to Ferri Formal, we gave a stern –“we’re just looking” they let us look, un-hassled. I quickly realized this was the best selection we’d seen in our price bracket ($200-$800). I was impressed by the quality workmanship and sumptuous materials, beating internet and other shop’s prices. Thye also had the best priced sales rack I'd seen. I relaxed on the chaise longue allowing my picky prom princess to scrutinize. After leaving we agreed that this was the shop.

We went back 3 or 4 times with me playing the difficult customer; each time, the staff, from Miss to Madame, were extremely nice. I saw a selection of people come and go, with no hint of discrimination from the staff on budget, age, size or race. Some were repeat satisfied customers but everyone received the same courteousness. It was obvious that the staff were experienced in catching on to the desired look and what suited. The ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ and ‘do you like that?’ were genuine, with no overbearing push to make a sale. One busy day became a boudoir fashion show, we were having a ball, with the mature customers modelling tips on presentation. It was how shopping should be. It was great experiencing the different tastes and styles, while of course everyone ended up looking happy and beautiful.

Parting with the dress through donation will be difficult- but then, Ferri Formal are bound to have something for Senior Gala!

My first appointment was wonderful, lots of personal attention. However on other trips with we felt rushed or someone was working with multiple people at the same time. My mother and bridesmaids all ordered their dresses from Ferri's. And they found the same situation. If you can go during the week you will get much better service, since Saturday is really busy.

My wife had a terrible experience with this store. Her bridesmaids ordered their dresses through Ferri Formals and the store ordered the wrong sizes, colors and styles. The store never apologized and made us pay to alter the dresses they had ordered incorrectly. Even after alterations, the dresses looked bad but we had no other options. Dealing with them was an absolute nightmare and I would never recommend them to anyone.

Overall, I was very impressed with Ferri's Formals. My bridesmaids and I found the perfect dresses there - the selection Ferri's has is unbeatable. As far as customer service and professionalism, I do have to say that some of the staff were rather impatient and sometimes rather curt with one another. I could tell when some of the staff felt stressed and I did not like when one employee snapped at her coworker right in front of me. This behavior tended to increase my anxiety level as a stressed bride! Despite their shortcomings, the staff were helpful and accommodating. Also, the alterations to my dress were perfect, something that I am very fussy about and have had bad experiences with when I was a bridesmaid. I do feel that the alterations were a bit expensive, since my dress were ordered hollow to hem, but I can forgive that.

I loved my dress! Patty is a doll and if you go in make sure you see her or Mary Lou. My bridesmaids dresses were perfect also.

They royally messed up my bridesmaid dress order and the one I wanted ended up being discontinued by the time they got around to ordering, so I had to pick another dress at the last minute. They were apologetic, but not really sympathetic.

I fell in love with my dress in a magazine. I was so excited to find that they had it! I spent an absolute fortune on it $4k!! Patti was awesome when I first tried it on and purchased it!! The OWNER was HORRIBLE! Once I paid for it, the owner treated us like crap!!! Then, thinking that I spent so much this would be the place to make sure the alterations were done the right way. No, it took them over a month to do the WORST alteration job I have ever seen!!!! They measured me and told me how they would do it the correct way. Then, when I hadn't heard from them, I called them and they hadn't even started it. So, a week later I came back. They folded over the dress and sewed it under my arms (completely noticeable!!!) Then, they put two large buttons on the back for the bustle. This is not the correct way to do alterations, this is a quick fix!!! Not what I wanted on a designer $4k dress!! I had to take it back to my seamstress to correct it!! She took it apart at the seam and fixed the 'fold over,' she did such a fantastic job, you couldn't notice that it was taken apart and fixed. Then, she did a french bustle, which means bustling underneath the dress, which you do with satin ribbons. It looked perfect after my seamstress fixed it, plus she did it over night. I picked it up one hour before my photographers came. I recommend that, yes, you could purchase a dress from here if you give them plenty of time, but DO NO GO HERE FOR ALTERATIONS!!!! And, don't expect to be treated well once you put the money down!! I ordered my dress in Oct/Nov, it didn't arrive until July (one month before my wedding!!!) So, call call call, to make sure they didn't forget you!!! I would not do business with them again. Plus, I am in the wedding business, and I DO NOT RECOMMEND them to any of my clients!!!

This was the second place I shopped for a dress at. Their selection is very good. They have many different dresses for many price ranges. I got mine for around $700 before alterations. They had marked the dress the wrong price, but honored it for what it was marked so I got a great deal! :-) They do charge for alterations, but it wasn't too expensive. The ladies there are fantastic, and did a great job with all my alterations! I would recommend this place to anyone!
My mother also got her dress here and they altered it in under a week, because she got it about 2 weeks before the wedding. They couldn't order one because it was too close to the wedding, but they altered the one they had in stock for her, and it was beautiful! It had a lace top and they did a great job with making it smaller and not detracting from the detail of the dress! We were both so pleased!

I was orginally annoyed that they wouldn't tell me the maker of the dress so I was "forced" to purchase it there but they did do a wonderful job preparing and tailoring the dress and the cost was reasonable. Some staff members were wonderful, others were not very helpful.

The service here was like no other store. They were always there for you. Patti was excellent. They helped me find THE dress. I fell in love with it. Except the sample was in silk. The dress was over $1500 and I just didn’t want to spend that much. I went home and looked at the designers website. The designed also made the dress is satin. I went back to Ferri Formals and they said they never knew it was made in satin since the designer only sent the silk sample. They got on the phone with the company and ordered my dress for me for 1/2 the price!

I had a wonderful wedding experience at Ferri Formals and Bridals. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. Marylu and Lena are extremely knowledgeable and professional. On my first trip to the shop I tried on several gowns ranging from bargain priced, all the way up to Vera Wang. They have gowns for every style and budget. There were so many gorgeous dresses but I still hadn’t found “the one”. Then Marylu called to tell me that she had just gotten in a new gown that she thought I might like. I went in to try it on and knew right away that this was the dress I would be wearing on my wedding day. Marylu and her staff were very attentive and went out of their way to help me find the perfect wedding dress and accessories. I ordered the dresses for my bridesmaids there as well. Three of my bridesmaids live out of town and the staff was very flexible when it came to scheduling dress fittings and pick-ups. One of my bridesmaids was planning a wedding around the same time as I was. She was so impressed with the service that my bridal party received that she chose to purchase her bridesmaids dresses at Ferri’s as well, even though she lives in North Carolina. My mother is a plus-size woman who is very uncomfortable wearing dresses. Marylu put my mother at ease and helped her select a stunning Mother of the Bride gown that she felt beautiful in. All of the gowns, mine especially, were absolutely perfect! I couldn’t have been happier with my experience and would recommend Ferri Formals and Bridals to any bride.
