Carter and Ashley are very nice guys, and I feel like that must persuade people with their reviews. We were extremely disappointed with the final product. The angles of the photographs made everyone's tiny arms look rather large. The photos of my jewelry look altogether messy, and don’t capture any of the jewelry's essence. For the ceremony and reception space he took lots of redundant photos of things that were more so filler points of design. Yet we do NOT have one photo of this extremely large and unique floral design, which took my florist days to create. This specific arrangement was one of three floral decorations in my ceremony space. This was particularly disappointing because before heading upstairs to my reception space I went out of my way to ask if the arrangements were photographed, I was assured photos of ALL the arrangements were taken. I had a few guests comment that the photographers were NOT taking photos, and that they saw them hanging out. When approached, at my wedding, Carter explained, "that they didn't want to take unflattering pictures of the guests eating". That would have been fine, had they actually captured details of the space that I spent a year creating. I'm not sitting here handing out harsh reviews either. The majority of my my vendors have received five stars as their overall rating from us.

Kim caught every aspect of the ceremony and wedding reception without being intrusive in what was happening. She was with Shelby and Justin at least 8 hours on the day of the wedding. She talked with both of them before doing their engagement pictures and captured their personalities perfectly. A great person and a great photographer.

I used Kym Skiles at F8 Studios, she is truely an amazing photographer and was just a pleasure to have at my wedding. I would definately recommend her to any bride!

I worked with Huy, he has an amazing photographer who has a very good eye for catching people's true emotions and feelings in the photos. The service is very expensive but photography was one of my highest priorities. If they are within your budget, I would HIGHLY recommend using F8.

These people are amazing! I used Huy and loved him and his assistant. I think the best part of my wedding are my pictures! I get more compliments on the photography than anything else! They are true artists, they don't just point and shoot, they take pride and time in all they do. They capture emotions and the moment. I can't tell you how much I would recommend these photographers! They are pricey but I don't regret one cent I spent!

The photographer was one of the most important decisions I made during my wedding planning "adventure". Choosing Gary Donihoo from f8 was pretty much a matter of me saying I wanted the best, and he's the best! Gary's creativity and skilled composition is indescribable. I knew from the moment we booked with f8 that I wouldn't have to worry about having photos that I loved. And I was right; they're just beautiful and my only problem post-wedding is choosing which ones to blow up and display. f8 is on the pricey-er end of the spectrum as far as wedding photographers go, but in the end you wind up with all the digital files so you're not locked into spending a ton on overpriced prints. Get the important ones printed by the studio, but everyday printing you can do yourself. Also, f8 has a wonderful slideshow site that they put the best shots into so family and friends can see them, and then order if they'd like, for over a year after the event. Everyone raves about our photos and I can't thank Gary enough for doing what he does so well! One important tip: make sure you give Gary (or ANY photographer) a shot list of sorts for your family shots (after the ceremony) so you are sure to get all your family. You don't want to regret capturing a grandparent, new baby, etc. I had one (that I basically copied from online and altered as necessary) and I'm so glad I did.

Gary is great at capturing your day. He makes you feel at ease and captures the feel of your day. He has a photojournalistic approach that makes for great pictures. If there are any specific pictures you want (like group shots) you have to tell him b/c that is not what they usually do. He was great though. Very professional!

F8 studio is absoultely amazing! They are friendly, witty, fun, easy-going and all around great people to be around. I would highly recommend them...I have 3 siblings and have already told Gary to be ready for their "future" weddings.

Amazing pictures that we will cherish for a lifetime! Huy was awesome and fun to work with! Everyone, even 2 years later, still comments on how beautiful the pictures turned out. He has a creative eye and makes the picture fun!

There is no doubt that if you want to use these guys (my photographer was Gary), it's not going to be cheap, but you're going to get your money's worth. They were just absolutely phenomenal, and I have exceptionally high standards. I wanted a sense of artistry, but not artistry that overwhelms/undermines the event. Gary gave me the best of both worlds- a beautiful esthetic that really captured the moment. He took the time to take pictures of all the details that we had agonized over, and captured all the fun and excitement of the wedding itself.

I have to say too, I know a bit about photography, and these guys are fantastic technicians. A photographer with a good eye and not as strong a technical understanding of their equipment are going to miss shots that a photographer with good equipment (and the knowledge of how to use it) won't. I love that he has an assistant, too, because it really pays off.

Everyone who's seen my photos just ooh and ahs over them, and I've known a lot of other brides who were really jealous. I don't recommend skimping on your photographer, and if you want to spend that money well I definitely recommend Gary!

Huy Nguyen of f8studio is the best wedding photographer in the country. Seriously. I knew this even before he won Photographer of the Year by the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA). He shot our wedding in 2005 and was just phenomenal. We still look at our pictures all the time, and we get constant comments that our wedding photos are the best that people have ever seen. His specialty is photojournalism. PJ has become a bit of a fad these days, with photogs taking a few black & white candids and calling it photojournalism. But Huy is a real photojournalist (he worked for the Dallas Morning News for years). He knows how to capture *real* moments in a beautiful way. He is completely unobstrusive at the wedding, but captures everything. He doesn't pose people (though he will take posed pics if asked), he just lets them be natural and captures people at their best. If you want to remember the emotions of the day, nobody does that better than Huy. He's also an exceptional technician. Our reception was in a very dark room, no windows, dark wood ceiling and walls. Yet Huy still somehow got great pictures without being in people's faces with an annoying flash. Our wedding wasn't very expensive, but we did spend a large chunk of our budget on photography. Huy isn't cheap, but I do think he's a good value. It's a large amount up front, but then you're not nickel & dimed for every print. You get his time all day (he showed up 2 hours early for our wedding and didn't charge us), plus 500+ high-res photos and prints. You don't have to spend arduous hours picking which photos to print (we seriously loved every one of the 500 photos we got; if we had to pay for each one separately, it would have cost so much more than the upfront fee). It was the best wedding vendor decision we made. If photography is important to you, Huy is the way to go.
